It’s truly baffling!

But that is the kind of friendship women provide to their female friends, minus the courting I suppose but I don’t know why you’re courting your friend.

I wish a man would respond to you. Your argument is exactly in line with my thinking on this, like I’m so confused and baffled why men seem to be waiting for someone to fix their problem? I’m happy to help but I’m not a man, how would I know how to solve it? And since when did problems get fixed just by complaining about them? It’s so strangely unproductive that I can’t help but think, “what am I missing here?”

For real, I’m eager to see this list!

And? What are men doing to prevent this from happening? I don’t understand the point of bringing up this point without discussing how men as a community will work with women to address it. It always feels like a threat because there’s no discussion on possible solutions leading to the uncomfortable implication that somehow women need to solve this problem for men one way or another.

I does not match my experience or the experience of any woman I know. I make around $300k/year, my husband makes & $90k. When we met, I was making $150k and he was a pizza delivery driver. I know there are many women and their families who are more traditional than me or mine in that way, but I am proof that this is not a universal framework for all women. I grew up on the west coast and that’s surely a factor in why I don’t see my experience as particularly uncommon, but I know for a fact that …

Telling women they have nothing to offer doesnt work when the men who see us as worthless act like little bitches because we dont like them either. Lmao EXACTLY what I thought! Like, hello men we can tell you think we’re worthless, why do you think you’re struggling to find women who will have sex with you?

All that tells me is you offer nothing so why should a woman want to have sex with you?

I’m really not lying. You simply aren’t capable of understanding.

To add - also because there are many things about your physical appearance that cannot be changed, so there is no point in dwelling on that. But as you said, physical appearance is not the only factor for attractiveness by a long shot. I have first hand experience being quite attracted to men who are not physically attractive necessarily, but the way they present themselves and interact with others is very compelling. The men in this subreddit seem to only understand attraction at its most super…

Uh… no duh. Harder time /= impossible! I legit do not understand why men are so damn fatalist about this. THAT’S unattractive as fuck. The petty whiny baby-ness of it. If it’s so damn futile then what the hell is accomplished by bitching a moaning about it other than making yourselves even more miserable. I do not understand. I’m an older woman now and I’ve been happily married for a long time, but back in the day I had my share of flings/casual short term relationships. Reflecting back on the v…

So, what you’re saying is that these men are unable to help themselves and the other men are unwilling to help them? What do you think women should do then?

Why don’t the men that are part of that big group do so with each other then?

I don’t think loneliness and dissatisfaction with life is disproportionately affecting men - women are struggling with these equally so. The issue for me is that men tend to direct their loneliness and dissatisfaction externally, in ways that put a great deal of burden on others including through violence, while women generally are dealing with it internally and by trying to find ways to foster deeper community with others. I generally don’t see men taking pro-social action, proposing meaningful…

The man whom you marry should not be held to a higher standard than the men with whom you have sex prior to your marriage, or else this may contribute to resentment and retroactive jealousy. What if I learn from my experience with a man that I set my standards lower than I should have. Am I allowed to learn from my past experience and raise my standards for the next man?

Yep yep, I concur with this as a fellow bi woman. Edit: Except I don’t agree with OP that women put in less effort toward basic maintenance of their appearance/hygiene. I think women put in significantly more effort than men do in that regard, on average. The bar is definitely set lower for when it comes to basic good skincare/haircare/hygiene/diet practices.

Didn’t we already discuss this? You said this in the first comment I replied to. Then I said that paid hours does not necessarily equal worked hours, worked hours are often more than paid hours, and worked hours are more relevant to this discussion. Did you forget or are you just messing with me?

Not according to the source that the person you originally responded to gave, which says that men only work 33 more minutes than women on average. That’s not “way more hours” https://www.bls.gov/news.release/atus.nr0.htm?

Huh? How was it dismissive? I didn’t intend it to be and I’m not sure why you would assume so. I certainly do support men’s groups and would be happy to advocate for issues that affect men, and I have zero tolerance for prejudice against any group of people - men included.

I really think you’ve hit the nail on the head for the most part. You’ve given me a different perspective on this, so thanks for posting.

How would women know how to solve this better than men? Men should start the work and then recruit women to support their programs. I’m a woman and would be happy to support, but I don’t think women can start from a place of figuring out the problem to be solved. We need men to do that, just as women did for girls.

Paid hours does not necessarily equal worked hours. For example, a person paid hourly could very easily have more paid hours than a salaried person, even if they worked the same number of hours. So it seems in this discussion, worked hours is the more relevant metric.
