I'm lucky with my kid when it comes to the first part. He never really jammed dangerous things in his mouth or nose. But day before yesterday I was fixing the door knob, little guy was watching Peter Rabbit. Snuck up on me, picked up a screwdriver and proceeded to jam it in an outlet. I lucked out. Bought my house 5 years ago for 270k. Renovated for about 70k, did most of the work myself. Now I see comparable houses in my area sell for 400k. As long as I don't go bust before I pay it off, my kid will get a nice inheritance when I kick the bucket.

I get this. My father-in-law made tons of money with his construction business. He graduated as an engineer, but started a heating and plumbing business right out of university. Worked his ass off for 40 years. Dude lives in a proper castle (worth about 2 mil) and rents out 2 600k penthouses. He walks around in sweat pants or old jeans, wool jumpers and drives a volkswagen caddy. He's not stingy or anything, he just doesn't give a fuck what other people think he's worth
