I'm a 37 year old who married someone my age and it was miserable. Now that we're divorced I pretty much date 19-23 year olds. Every time I've tried dating my age she's ready to have a kid, like, right now. It's a basic expectation of mine that any girl even close to my age isn't on birth control, from my experience. The most recent girl I was very much into, and could have imagined building a longer life together with, but she wanted unprotected non-birth-control sex from our first time, and th…

Your example is ridiculous. However, I married a virgin, at 27. A lasting paradise, it was not.

*I've tried everything to better myself and I crash and burn every time. It's in your head. Your goals are wrong and you're setting yourself up for failure because you kind of love playing this role a little. * You are literally saying there is no hope, you tried every remedy, there's no way to be a better you, you're at your peak already, and also mixing in some self-loathing about how you aren't strong enough to follow your own goals or routines. I suggested that you "love kind of playing this…

That's a reasonable focus for you. Don't beat yourself up over calories too much, you know what is good for you and what isn't good for you. Switching from bread to corn tortillas for sandwiches had a massive affect for me, and cutting out rice and pasta (literally threw them out) helped a lot too.

eating right, exercising For how long? Seriously, what is your "for reals, I actually did this thing for reals" record of eating right? What is exercise? You have made a series of meals of grains, cruciferous veggies, acceptable dairy/lean meat for your body type, for months at a time? With daily walking without your cell phone and some activity which raises your heartrate so much that you sweat and have quickened breath for at least 30 minutes a day? Have you approached your youth pastor? He's …

I really like my hair, it's receded but not too thin, and I get real proud of it... then SOMETIMES I either see a mirror which shows the top of my head or I see a photograph of the top of my head when I'm looking down and DAMMIT it sucks.

Do yourself a favor and go buy "The Language of Letting Go" by Melody Beattie. So much of what is in there is what you need to read every day, and this issue you struggle with is fiercely codependent stuff which could turn around and bite you even worse later. You need to learn to love yourself. People pleasing? Chewing fingernails? Wishing doom on others? Suicidal ideation while ignoring what is basically other people placating you? I'd not be worried about those manly men putting emotionless b…

I didn't brag about getting laid in High School either and I was getting chased pretty regularly. I only initiated about half my sex in those years I think. Flirted with everyone, but didn't talk about it.

Middle age chicks do nothing for me. I am not attracted to them. I don't want to screw these old bags. Plus, I was even getting rejected by some of them. I'm 37, and have a similar ex-wife story. Also, EVERYTHING you're saying about young women has been true. I don't even pursue women my own age. They're either completely mentally deranged, or they WANT A BABY AND THEY WANT THAT BABY NOW and I will "do just fine" as the father. Almost every mid-30s to late-30s woman I've been out with has sugges…

I've been doing this often lately. A LOT of little knick-knackedy jewelry has been getting left at my place lately. I have a wall where my artwork is pinned to the wall, and all the rings and earrings just go on a pin now. It's exactly what you say.

Many of the spoiled kids will run away from the age of 25, knowing it's all hell from that point on, you will welcome the age of 25 with open arms. Are you kidding me? I moved out of my parent's house and started my life at 15. We're living in an era of never-ending childhood. This is ridiculous.

Yes, but you need to rephrase that or consider it different. You are comparing yourself unfavorably to others, and judging yourself unworthy of attention from women. This is poison to you. Body, mind, spirit. What self improvement steps could you take in a daily practice to reasonably and realistically improve each area of your personal life? We each have to not judge ourself, but rather do something every day to be a better version of ourself. When you are better each year than you were the yea…

When I used to drink, I would have red and also a chilled white. While I hate to say "girls like white wine" because who knows who likes what it's just easy to have on hand and it's nice with a dessert. I don't drink anymore and so there's no more 12 bottles hanging out in a rack for a perfect night, so my main reason to respond is to point out a few alternatives if you don't have booze stocked. If you've got the cash, get some lights/fixtures from somewhere besides Wal-mart (e.g. no bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling). Anything that shows you put some effort towards breathing some life into the place. Maybe a potted plant, even if it's fake. Yeah, this is good. Honestly there's a lot right about having real plants. They DON'T care about your right to free speech. One of my social circles is wildly SJW and the men just talk about how horrible they are, while the women will openly say that men should not be allowed to speak in public or be published in writing.

It's a tendency I've had before. I won't go into detail but eventually you hit a point where you get fed up with feeling like life dominates you and you're not getting everything out of your days that you need. Maybe you're there. Get male friends, don't try pleasing all the time. I'm not saying be a dick or be sarcastic or mean... just build boundaries. Be willing to say no. Be strong about your own feet and the ground they are on.

I was reading the signals right and she was into me big time but I was using my normal habits of escalation and it was too fast for her. Wikipedia: In an interview with Vulture, the entertainment section of New York, about her film Ruby Sparks, actress and screenwriter Zoe Kazan criticized the term as reductive, diminutive, and misogynistic. She disagreed that Hepburn's character in Bringing Up Baby is a MPDG: "I think that to lump together all individual, original quirky women under that rubric is to erase all difference."[22]

"Destroying attraction" may be a heavy handed way of identifying this, but as a 36 year old man, I certainly have a hard time using a phone to communicate with young women. Most of the girls I date are 19-23 since I live blocks away from a major university, but my normal "don't use texts to communicate" laws seem to break down sometimes. It's like they are afraid of talking on the phone, but I think it's just generational commonalities.

Stay sober, your emotions are already out of control. Talk to many women. Do not place expectations on yourself, get your mindset ready for a fail/win ratio you won't expect. "But alcohol is not that addictive." Alcohol is nearly impossible to stop. Some people have a body tolerance to it, but for many it has an immediate, first time effect of causing the body to need more. Not all bodies are the same, and many break alcohol down through a series of bodily processes into water and sugar, but many more bodies cannot properly process any quantity of alcohol and break it down improperly resulting in a desire for more.
