Yeah, I work retail now, don't get me started on tribal laws. Dealing with the number of Indigenous parents who take their kids onto reservations to avoid the other parent seeing the kid will make your head hurt. Also, the assault complaints that were filed. Those get flagged as "unfounded" not false because they never went to court. But those are used in stats as how rapists never get caught. If you're interested read "How Numbers Lie" solid book on numerical manipulation.

I worked in a position assisting people who needed restraining orders, filing reports with the police...etc. All that stuff and act as a guide of sorts through that whole world. The number of women I found using restraining orders as a means for obtaining free house was insane. One "client" weaponized it into targeting African immigrants who didn't speak English, she would assault them, then file a TRO and in the month span it was in affect she would rob their apartments then skip on renewing it…

The women I'd meet were gnarly. I worked in the music business, running clubs, booking shows... Etc. The women I'd meet wanted tickets, to meet musicians or just plain ol' cheaters. I've only slept with 3 women who weren't cheating on a partner. Before you ask, no I didn't know they were with other people. Well, except for one but her fiance was a prick. If I could go back and try dating again I would, at least if I could keep my Vasectomy.

To me it sounds like you'd be a wonderful person to date up to a certain extent. There is such a thing as trying too hard, and for me personally when I am with someone I want a partner, and while giving a lot of attention is flattering, too much attention or gift giving while thoughtful is overwhelming. I think your problem is a mixture of going for the wrong people, and overdoing it on the attention, love showering, gift giving...etc. There is nothing wrong with gift giving when I can I give gi…

I'd argue that it isn't foolish for women to take advantage of something if they know its good for them, but detrimental to others. Certainly there are women who do, but those that don't aren't being foolish, they're showing integrity.

Its comparable in that it is a choice, but its still not a reasonable comparison. Choice vs Feature. I agree, choosing to dismiss someone based on a feature they didn't choose is shittier than dismissing someone based on their choices. The other two points are kinda moot, they could have similar height male friends, or have friends who date "short" men and be fine with it since that isn't what the choose. I mean, I have friends who date people I wouldn't or have traits I'm not attracted to, but …

I know that I'm making a bit of a semantic argument, and you're right these are very close to drawing into the sexist realm, but it gets caught up in the subjective, and subjective preferences can be sexist in nature. Where it gets tricky is that this imaginary person who won't date a man unless taller by her by 5" is still a subjective preference, even if its precise number, and I wouldn't classify it as sexist because I see sexism as more than just a personal preference when it comes to dating…

Its not sexist though, its a subjective fact. You are attracted to who you attracted to. If you want to play word games you can draw it to sexism, but even then you're left with the fact that its a subjective subject and no matter how much you argue for it being wrong the person holding the preference is still right in what they are attracted to.

I don't think its wrong to be attracted to either markers, nor should we vilify people who actively pursue them. I don't see it as sexist to not want to date a guy based on height, or not date a woman based on her sexual past. They are both subjective preferences to the person holding them, and no matter what we say that doesn't change that its a subjective fact for the individual. I probably worded it wrong that there can't be a discussion to be had about it, of course there can be. But compari…

I wouldn't go so far as to compare the two. There are instances where that could be the case, but we'd have to go looking into a culture by culture basis to compare the two.

If we were to look at bisexual women we'd need to narrow it down to bisexual women who are attracted specifically to masculine women. Some women are attracted to the femininity of other women, which really can't be compared to the physical attributes of men because they are just so different. Unless the bi woman in question is particularly attracted to effeminate men. But I digress. There is too much difference between height discrimination and promiscuity discrimination to make a really compara…

I think it walks a fine line between sexism and hypocrisy. Because it is a sexist statement, but the person making it is taking advantage of the fact women are sexual and willing to have sex with him. Which clearly he isn't opposed to nor does he think them sleeping with him is wrong. He thinks sleeping with people other than him is, and that is a narcissistic sentiment.

Neither is sexist. They aren't being rejected for being male or female, one is being rejected based on past choices, the other is being rejected based on physical attributes. The two aren't very comparable to begin with. But neither is inherently sexist.

Relapse is a big thing to think about, but you also need to look at the degrees of relapse there are, and a lot of that boils down to communication. Personally, from what OP is suggesting she's done everything right and has gotten her act together. Such as instead of getting wasted when they took a break she worked on her therapy books.

Call this semantic, but a key difference is that empathizing is one level, and having sympathy is another. I have no sympathy for willful ignorance, however I do empathize with ignorant people because I know that I don't know everything. So to be in the dark about the full scope of a subject is something we can all relate to. Plus them reaching out on here is a good start for questioning their own values. Which can respect, even if its a simple question. Progress not perfection.

I don't blame them. They grew up believing a certain way and have a certain narrative bombarded on them 24/7 and get rewarded for following the group think.

I'll answer assuming you're from the USA. Any conviction is considered a "win" as most cases aren't just black and white in regards to guilt. You need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that someone committed a crime. Innocent until proven guilty. Why is a man who is falsely accused of rape more likely to be convicted? The 2-10% false accusation is just a starting point, these are the accusations that are verifiable to be false from the beginning. There is another reason why men get falsely conv…

I find your creepy eye slits a challenge to my carefully cultivated Clint Eastwood squint. OK, ignore that they are the ones who pulled her shirt up. Again, the whole premise of that is that she refused to name who pulled her shirt up. She refused to tell anyone including her friends. We can assume they did, but with what the show presents its he tore down a poster ergo he sexually assaulted her. The jocks were jerks, not even remotely likeable. But it sells the idea that its okay to just assume when certain people do something because they fit a trope.

Horror is the primary genre I watch, I've even taken college courses on horror film, and am in some horror clubs in my city. I like all kinds of horror movies. The premise of the show is pretty good, how it falls apart is by creating a moral position while rejecting how any of the principles they propose apply to them. If it left out the political aspects of the show it would be really decent. Through this post I know its talking to people who already "get it" but really I want it out there so t…

True the tiny girl attacked first, but they instigated her on purpose I would say. Watch that scene again. They tore down a poster, they weren't even talking to her. I'm not saying they were innocent or even likable, but if we are dealing with facts and what we know, then it is what it is. As far as Susie getting hit, what do you expect someone to do? Does size really matter when one person is attacking another? We know full well how Primary Aggressor laws work when it comes to domestic violence…

I actually just talked about those points and came back to address them. 1) Susie never identified who lifted her shirt. We can assume who it was, but they were never named. 2) They didn't beat her up. She attacked one of them, and he punched her then walked away. 3) Yes, these are all plot devices, and they're supposed to be bad people. But they still get glossed over, drugging people to extract information is still wrong. I mean, even criminals don't get drugged to extract information. 4) I ju…

Because the updated report says shes in a relationship with his brother. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3995094/woman-ashley-murrell-husband-mikey-died-sofa-night-after-row-now-with-brother/ Edit 2: And don't pretend that he had any choice but to go on the couch. If she wanted she could have easily had him in jail overnight if she were so inclined. He didn't just put himself on the couch. If he insisted in staying in his own bed people would be calling him abusive for not following her wishes.

That's victim blaming. His abusive wife (who is now fucking his brother) put him on the couch, if he tried to sleep in his own bed given her mental state she could have had him arrested. You shut the fuck up. Donny, you're out of your element.

In situations like that infants are considered the greater of the innocent. It's the same mentality as ordering men to pay child support for kids who aren't theirs. It's totally mental and bullshit. Also one of the highest incomes for the government is delinquent child support, so it's really just another form of indentured servitude.

Ask yourself if what she did to him is what he is doing to you. I had an ex friend of mine was in an abusive relationship and made everyone feel sorry for him. He made a big show out of being the responsible would be doctor and family guy. When in fact he was just as abusive as his wife was. Sure she cheated on him, but he would fake suicide attempts to get her to stay. Well just with any movement its the rogues who try to speak on behalf of everyone and can sometimes miss the ball entirely. Not all feminists are man haters, but not all of them fully understand what it means to claim that title either, same goes with an MRA. I personally wouldn't go on the record and say "mra's believe x, y, z," because I can't speak on behalf of everyone. A lot of frustration and confrontation comes from people who have been hurt by this system and feel a need to lash out, and…

I had a teacher who was a devout Feminist, proudly declared it in class every chance she had and made it a point to say that Reddit users were "Privileged, white, Christian, males" after I told her about something I read on Reddit about Dr Who. She immediately placed me into a female study group as the only male, no big deal right? The entire time I trained her I was professional just doing my job, and where I worked women were very promiscuous, I however am not a cheater so I wouldn't take any of them up on their offers. I think your sister has issues since hypothetical ideas have no bearing on real world issues. You could try telling her "What if you are merely brainwashed into thinking you're a victim? You know, not all Germans knew what the Nazis were doing" Yeah yeah Godwins Law deal with it. You can sit around doing the What If game but it doesn't help, all it does is illicit an emotional response which can very well be completely unfounded in truth.

I'm not sure whether or not you're trying to troll or not. I really hope you are because that is such an ignorant position to have. "Something doesn't fit in this definition so it really isn't it" that is such a cop out. Feminism is as much about equality as the KKK is about civil rights. You can't be that stupid to really think that a dictionary based definition covers the entire spectrum of a group of people.

There is a flaw in your logic a feminist can be anything they want to be, even if that feminist decides to go to the extreme and be radical, a hateful feminist is still a feminist. And yes feminism is very much a hate movement regardless of how they may like to spin it.

Wait until the kid wants to start dating, and when he is expected to make that first move on a date the one thing pounding through his head will be "OMG, I am a rapist" just for wanting to kiss a girl who very well may want him to. Sad to think this is the kind of crap that he'll get taught, author says he's uncomfortable saying sex around his kid, but totally ok with insinuating he's a rapist.
