Most marriages these days seem to end with a walkaway wife/divorceYep. Her mom did the same. Uh, not to me, I mean, to her father. I've also seen a lot of men walk away from marriages over my life though, so while we definitely will end up with mostly men going through this here, I don't think it's all one sided. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/08/26 05:42 AM
How many of you feel that you're better off since your divorce? Share the reasons why and the ways life has improved.I don't drive, but I've had days at work where I'd just sit there thinking "I can't believe I'm not happy to be going back home. I must be a terrible person." I know better now, of course. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/08/26 09:12 AM
So, this happens a lot? Women just leave out of the blue with 0 chance for reconciliation? Two years? Try less than a year. And yes they do that. Some, because they've already made up their mind and are preparing to leave. Others because of mental illness. Either way, same result. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/08/26 09:03 AM
Ok guys. It happened. I finally got the full reconciliation request and it’s messed my head up more than I thought. They know when you're over them. I swear. It's this black magic bullshit. Okay not literally but you get it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/08/26 09:41 AM
Im done with this worldOh, I'm sorry. If it helps, so was I. She left a couple months before our 10th anniversary, which I had to spend alone while she was posting online about how brave she's for leaving me and how she's the happiest she's ever been. I just have the extra bonus of being a whole 9 years older than you. My debt is less, but I'm broke nonetheless and had to get a roommate to make ends meet. I'm applying to dozens and dozens and hundreds of jobs and failed several second interviews. I genuinely mean it w… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/08/26 12:02 AM
Im done with this worldAt least you're only 30 and your wife didn't take 10 years to reveal all this shit to you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/08/26 12:51 AM
How little people careIt depends on who is around you. I'm also 39, still trying to finalize divorce. I also never cheated, took care of her. Now she's victimizing herself and seeking sympathy, telling people I'm a monster, etc. etc. We both know the story. The few friends that stuck with me and few others I've made since have been incredibly supportive. When I called the police because she had gone missing at first, the detective that found her suggested it's perhaps for the best the marriage is over because she's c… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/07/26 07:16 AM
In retrospect, are you ever just COMPLETELY baffled at how you ignored the red flags?Eh it's fine. I spent the last 10 years married to a woman 7 years younger than me that was daddy issues personified. BPD too, of course. I'd be weirded out if I dated someone WITHOUT daddy issues now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/26 06:53 AM
Got served divorce papers, wife only wants one thingI think I should clarify something that's affecting a lot of responses here. When I say "her 401k", I don't mean a lot of money put aside as she worked throughout the years. I mean whatever was put aside in the one, single, almost-a-year she worked through the ten years I was married to her. That 401k is NOT a lot of money. The rest of the time she was living off of me while citing her PTSD as the reason for not working. EDIT: Yes, I'm well aware she used me, by now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/26 04:40 AM
Got served divorce papers, wife only wants one thingI strongly considered this. Especially when she first left. Although at this point I also have to consider she doesn't know how to properly care for an older dog, and feel I have a responsibility towards her (as in the dog) to try and make sure she is safe and taken care of. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/26 10:13 PM
Got served divorce papers, wife only wants one thingShe IS my emotional support animal. It didn't even cost any money, my doctor made it so a long while ago. I suffered from heavy depression and anxiety even before my ex pulled this stunt. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/26 10:09 PM
Got served divorce papers, wife only wants one thingOregon, I went ahead and added this in an edit. Thanks for reminding me that's important. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/26 08:57 PM
