Same here! After being entertained for a while by the stories of audacity, simplicity and stupidity of men, as well as realizing that I'm not missing out one bit, I now am getting bored at old news of scrotes being scrotes. I want more for myself now -- I want to intensely focus on MY life, MY desires and wants, MY benefits, hobbies, health, money -- all the good stuff that got put on hold while I was wasting time thinking about men and strategizing how to carve out a place for myself in men's w…

Honestly, the fact that I wasn't able to get to get on the sub yesterday gave me a scare -- this is the only space on the internet that gives me a dose of productive rage. All other spaces for women are muddied with liberal feminism to the point that I feel crazy and start questioning my reality and experiences yet again. Although the https://www.therealfemaledatingstrategy.com/ is up and running, most of the communication still happens here. I would so love to move off reddit, so that the progr…

Yes! That is what my husband did to me when we went to buy a car! It was a car for ME, bought by ME with MY money (he contributed $0.00). When we went to the dealership, he was assuming this attitude that you could interpret as HE was buying ME a car. Since we are married, that's a plausible story to the sales guys, and they were talking with him, almost completely ignoring me. When I was asking a question, the sales guy did this "pfft" noise and a face expression, which basically was to show me…

Thank you! I'll come so much freaking better on the other end! I know it!

Yes, I did -- it was super eye-opening. Thank you!

Nice! Yes -- I, too, treat it as a valuable experience. If I never got married, I would never have heard the end of it from my relatives. And I would have likely developed "I'm not good enough for anyone to marry me" personality. Now now!

Thank you so much for the support! And same.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! That's exactly where I am mentally -- I need to do what's right for ME. I appreciate the advice to walk out from others, and I would have given the same advice to someone in my situation. But the reality is that I refuse to walk out on a matter of principle and lose the huge chunk of life I built for myself. Screw this! Why does it have to be me who walks?! No! I put way more money into our house, and it was cheap considering today's prices. Why do I have to drop…

Thank you! Yes -- it's a very careful balance between being ready to leave vs. needing to get out now. I'll be making sure that I am not destroying myself in the process, but it is tough.

Oh my God, I completely agree! Thank you! I realized that, although things were very hurtful, I kind of had an opportunity to see the future with him. Normally, people get sick later in life (i'm in my 30s), so they invest decades into relationships that blow in their face. Even though I did waste many years, I was shown what it would be like if I got sick later in life. It would have been so much worse! But today I am still young to make meaningful changes that would actually matter, and then s…

That's a fitting description of my husband -- kind and selfish. You just cannot undo the personality. I ask myself why I stayed for the 10+ years that I did. There are a lot of excuses, of course, but it's still pretty sad. I look at my past self and feel so sorry for her. A lot of things that felt important were truly such a waste of time! Never again!

Yes -- money is huge. I want to set myself up for success. I cannot rely on anyone but myself, so I have to be very very careful, and not act on emotion alone.

This link is gold! Thank you for sharing! I've been reading it at lunchtime today. I'm very sorry about the cheating -- such a slimy act. I really respect you for being so level headed about it and thinking about yourself first. Leveling up is huge. It's a tangible benefit that will only serve you in the log run, unlike the money you could dump on marriage counselling (I never went and never will) only to be told to keep peace, be patient, forgive, see it from his perspective, compromise, unders…

Thank you so much! You are completely right! I started reading recommended FDS book and the pieces of the puzzle just started falling into place. I can already see how liberating my new life will be. I'm getting ready, mentally, emotionally and financially. Thank you!

Thank you for the support! I, too, think there is a big difference between seeing things for what they are and staying to have some benefit vs. voluntarily blinding yourself with pickmesha beliefs. I'm sorry your friend was so insensitive! The only thing she should have done is just support you as a friend. That's all I need right now, too. I don't have close friends I am comfortable with sharing, because all they (I assume) would do is try to "solve the problem". But they just can't, it has to …

Thank you for sharing! I'm really sorry you wasted your energy and sacrificed your life for someone who did not deserve it (no one deserves it, especially a man). I, too, do not have children and it's such a relief thinking about being able to just walk. Preparation is important, but sometimes you just can't foresee everything -- it all becomes such a balance and such a personal decision. I am happy that you got out!

Exactly! Yes! Thank you! It's on! I'm actually very excited to put my plan into motion. Here's to all of us! We deserve better and WE WILL GET IT!!!

Thank you -- and yes, I will. Having tried to get pregnant for three years and not succeeding was a total miracle / eye-opener / second chance / call it whatever you want. Whoever is upstairs cared enough for me not to make the biggest mistake of having children with an immature man.

Wow, this sounds very familiar, thank you for sharing! The upsetting and also guilt-inducing feature of our marriage is that it is totally fine when there are no problems. When I don't complain, when I don't hurt, when I perform wifely duties, then everything is absolutely fine. I cannot find a single fault with our relationship during those times. But guess what? Everybody will be doing well in the "for richer" situation. It's your attitude in the "for poorer" that shows the real you. My husban…

Thank you so much! I actually found a free pdf of it online and it blew my mind. The abusers freaking know! They know they hurt you, they don't need to be helped or educated. They all know exactly what they are doing, and they are doing it because they choose to do it. This made so much sense to me! And it gave me so much freedom and took the guilt away. I don't need to mother him or show him that his actions are actually hurtful. He is very aware of his own mediocrity. But he keeps doing it bec…

I think that's exactly what it is -- he is just incapable. But what pisses me off is that he actually doesn't like it if I mirror his behavior (at rare times that I can pretend being detached). He wants me to be a happy, chirpy entertainer on demand, while he either takes it or gets up and leaves. I got slammed down so many times it's unreal!

That's a good idea, thank you! I started looking on Google already, but sitting down with a lawyer will probably answer many more questions much quicker.

100% agreed. I, too, think that a lot of sicknesses, especially the autoimmune ones, are the result of being pushed too far for too long.

I agree as well. The key right now is crawl out of this hole, and it will take time, because my body has been breaking over many years. Thank God, I am not at a point of no return (at least, I hope not) with my health. I am improving, but at a snail's pace.

I think it is. My current health situation is years in the making. The loneliness, the abandonment, the never being good enough. He is certainly a contributor, no doubt about it. Thank you for commenting!

Will do (on the reading about stress effects). Thank you! I agree. A good plan needs a deadline. I'll start looking into what makes sense in my situation. I do deserve better from myself. I am my own parent now and I need to do what's best for me! No one will.

Thank you -- yes! That's all I want. Someone to hug me when life is tough, someone to assure that they will be there. It's been so incredibly lonely! I perform as a wife, but it's been miserable at times. I haven't laughed in I don't know how long. I stopped sharing what's on my mind, because he doesn't know how to listen. FDS is the only place that told me I'm not nuts for wanting those things (they are simple and easy to do!). If I can't even get intimacy, what's it all for?! Oh man, I'm getti…

Thank you, Myplummms! You brought tears to my eyes. Being gaslit for years did a number on me! I agree -- this not a rehearsal, this is the one and only life I will ever get. I look back -- it's been 10 years. 10 years is a huge chunk of meaningful adult life. I'll never get those back. I don't want to sit and waste time until it runs out, and I turn into the "shoulda/coulda/woulda" old bitter woman. I'll definitely look into setting myself up for successfully getting the f@ck out. Thank you aga…

Thank you, Peachpy54! Yes! I started saving money into a separate account. I have already moved myself into a different bedroom (months ago). Sex is embarrassingly bad and rare, but you are right about the chemicals. I'll work on that. I agree -- pragmatics is what I want to focus on right now. No attachment, no emotions, just building as much as I can for myself, before I can walk out and never look back.

I appreciate your thoughts! I was waiting for the last straw, so to speak. I don't know if I'll get one or not (based on my previous life choices, nothing will likely be the last straw, and I'll be sitting in my sh!t puddle again). Based on the sane replies by everyone here, I'll start putting more effort in my exit plan. You are right about playing games -- I got so much guilt for being upset at him (ridiculous!).

Yeah, I'd like to feel financially better before I leave, honestly. My medical bills drained me in the past two years. I've started saving more diligently now that I don't need to go to the doctors so much. You are right -- staying married is sunk cost fallacy, I don't believe it anymore. It's not going to get much better... .

Thank you! You are right on all those points. And it's so nice to hear that I deserve better, you can't even imagine! Everybody around me seems to constantly play devil's advocate. It's always my fault for some reason. I should have done some other thing... . I should have let it go... . He cares... . I feel crazy sometimes. How can somebody look at a person crying real tears several times a month and not move a finger to make any improvements? Freaking enraging!

Thank you! Yes, based on the replies to this post, I'll be making a real effort on saving money and coming up with an exit plan. I agree on the health issues 100%. I noticed that when I cry or talk, or just get upset, I clench my stomach muscles super hard. No wonder something broke! Thank you for sharing! And for the insight -- sometimes I can't see the truth clearly, even if I'm in the middle of it.

I completely (completely!) agree with you! "Getting ready" is a sh!t idea based on fear. It's like the idea of closure -- there won't be any effing closure. The hurt will still be there, years from now. Thank you for sharing -- all of the comments so far say the thing I am afraid to tell myself. I'll put more real effort into my exit plan now. Unfortunately, my savings got drained by medical bills in the past years. And you are right -- I am emotionally attached.

I literally signed up for reddit 5 min ago to be able to join the new website. I have been lurking for the past two months, and this sub is a life saver -- it made me see my life, my marriage, my thoughts clearly, without the BS of societal values. I've been feeling so clear headed and powerful these past weeks! I am so afraid to lose this feeling! I WANT IN!
