Women who I've dated have asked me for money for: - rent - car repairs - movers - breast augmentation surgery - to pay her phone bill - to get on my phone plan Mind you we were dating less than a YEAR.

Right, he made the typical mistake of actually trying to address the problem rather than just react to it in the approved way.

Which really makes me wonder how far they can take this. Could they have claimed 10 billion people are part of the group, and would no one have batted an eye?

There's something going on Threads now with this guy TherapyJeff, who I don't follow and really don't know. But he only came to my attention because after this 62M viral article he raised the question: "Are there any hotlines people can call if they are experiencing ideation and intrusive thoughts related to SA?" The way he phrased it wasn't great as he called these thoughts "fantasies", but otherwise he was making a good point about early intervention, and it was *genuinely* something I hadn't …

Yes, feminism whatever it was in the past is now today a pro-bigotry movement, literally parroting the bigoted racist logic Donald Trump Jr. uses in making their case that all men are suspect.

Dude. I just got out of this relationship with this woman because she wanted me to "treat her rough" (her words) but she refused to have a conversation with me about what that *actually* meant... because it really seemed to me she wanted CNC. But she would not have an actual conversation with me about it because that was a "turn off" and "holding my hand". I had to break up with her because it made me *extremely* uncomfortable, and I just couldn't believe what she was asking me because it seemed…

They need something like the Bechdel test for movies targeted at women. To pass there must be a scene where the gay male character (there's always at least one) has a conversation that humanizes them rather than paints them as a sassy cheerleader, fashionable handbag, or fairy godmother.

*I* believe in unconditional love, but I don't *expect* it from a woman, no. I think the back and forth with the other poster highlights exactly that, so you're not reading critically. What did I say which implies I believe women generally aren't transactional in relationships?

it's called an anecdote. I've been raped by two woman and also experienced domestic abuse from my wife, so your comments about my intelligence don't really phase me -- my ex spent plenty of time belittling me in that way. Kind of makes you look like a bully if that's how you get your point across, but you do you.

> Female privilege is being favored by teachers in elementary, middle and high school. Female privilege is graduating high school more often, being accepted to more colleges, and generally being encouraged and supported along the way. This one always gets me because they frame it as "girls are better at school".

I still disagree with that. > I never said love means replacing someone the moment things get tough. That's what this whole discussion is about tho: "he’s so replaceable she’ll just walk away". Encouraging a value-based analysis on relationships means that when the value from the other person isn't up to your standards, you feel justified to leave. And with so many options, it's easy for women to think the grass is always greener. I think that if you love someone, that's the end of it. It doesn'…

Maybe I'm a romantic, but I believe in unconditional love. This way of thinking gets dangerous when "the worse" of "better and worse" comes. For instance, my partner was bipolar. She showed me viciousness, a lack of respect, no support whatsoever, and made my life a living hell in the depths of her mania. But I loved her regardless and I stuck through it despite the fact that she was putting nothing on the table. And then things got better. In your framing, she wasn't bringing value and was ther…

Asserting the other person is wrong and you are right is not debate. Calling people gross and liars is not debate. Asserting you've won a debate is essentially admitting you lost it, your arguments should speak for themselves.

This is PPD, the D stands for debate. Debate can't happen if you just assume the other person isn't genuine.

That's again, just making things up about this scenario, which itself is coping with the idea a woman could think that way, so more projection from you. For all you know, she literally said that to him, but you assume the opposite, that he's the one making it up. You've made up an entire interaction in your head based on what he said.

I absolutely agree. I'm just pointing out the pill that gives this advice because blue loves to say that red is wrong, but often gives red advice like this. Blue pill advice for the average man would say "just be yourself, just be good, just keep looking for the right one, you'll find them eventually" > I wouldn't encourage men to use "money" as an incentive A man has to use what he can to get what he wants in life. We are talking about average men here. He's kinda funny but also kinda lame. He's okay looking but still kinda ugly still. He's not poor but he's not rich. He's not an idiot but he's not especially bright. He's not really weak, but he's not particularly strong either. In terms of him being able to offer something more, if he could, that would make him not average. You're essentially asking him to not be average anymore which is.... essentially red pill advice. My favorite story about this scenario is my friend told me how she was standing on the sidewalk talking to her friends one day, when some dude in his friends car driving down the street got out, ran over to her, said he had to stop and ask for her number because she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She gave it to him, he ran back to his friends car, and he started texting her, but she never responded. Not for months, but he kept texting every now and then. Every week or so another t…

This also applies to the whole "cross the street if you see a woman to make her feel more comfortable" thing they tell men to do. What ends up happening is the good guys cross the street, leaving only bad guys walking on the side with women. They create these filters that only bad guys pass through, then they complain that all men are bad. Selection bias at its finest.

Fascist feminists have a techno-dystopian vision that rivals the matrix. They believe they can create a humanity without men through artificial sperm, robots for labor, and genetic engineering to get rid of all male babies. The reason they say we need to do this as a society is because men are too violent by nature. Typical fascist ideology.

This is true. It's even worse, because since they fail to position class as the primary contradiction, they are also free to adapt strategies and other tactics that make the class problem worse. For example, the very thing that turned me from a "feminist" to a "left wing male advoate" is when they started using the "jelly bean metaphor" to promote their position. "You wouldn't eat a jelly bean from a bag if you knew one was poisoned. Same thing with men" Well, that logic is the same that Donald …

It's just a word for a place a woman wouldn't live in. Soon as a woman comes in she give it her "womanly touch" which essentially means filling it with dumb shit from Target. A bachelor pad is about utility. You got your couch, you got your TV, you got your bed, your weights, and that's all you need. Nothing on the walls because why do things need to be on the walls? No random candle holders and bowls of fruit and decorative flowers sitting out because what's the point? Fridge is a little empty …

That's *exactly* it, as I've gotten older I've learned that people are projecting more than they realize, and that almost every accusation is a confession. Hypocrisy is rampant in our society, and far too often I've seen loud people complaining about something later come to be the exact thing they were doing.

In my experience, a lot of the "weaponized incompetence" they point out is not incompetence at all but just a refusal to engage in the make-work that the home cleaning industry has convinced homemakers is necessary. For instance, when I'm living alone, I put all my clothes into the washer at once. Underwear, cottons, brights, darks, lights. Large load, warm water, dry them all at medium heat. Done. Never a problem, no one ever says anything rude to me, they all come out nice and clean. But when …

It sucks because it's sold as an equality movement, and that's why I ever had anything to do with it. It wasn't until women started achieving higher than men in college and feminists went Kylo shooting at Luke that I realized that equality wasn't the goal -- they wanted dominance.

What's a "perfectly functional adult"? I'm 38 and people my age are all dysfunctional and immature adults in one way or another, including me. People who consider themselves mature are often giant toddlers under the right circumstances. Some important people with immense responsibility turn into whiny crybabies as soon as they get one ounce of push back. A lot of time we mistake circumstance and age for maturity. Some adults who look like they have it all figured out are just massive control fre…

Men do understand this. My feeling with what OP is communicating is more that being an abusive asshole is not disqualifying for a relationship while being a “nice guy” is in most cases. So men should lean more toward being aggressive and manipulative in their personalities overall, in a general sense. Personally my experience is that every time I listen to and act on what women say they want, I have no success. When I’m selfish and greedy and say and do what I want, women come knocking.

You are confusing respect with decency. Respect - a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. No I do not have a deep admiration elicited by their abilities, qualities, and achievements for children. I feel like you’re being very literal about this topic when it’s not a hard rule. No one is saying 5’3” men are “doomed” to being virgins. The point is, if you are 5’3” you need to be realistic on what your prospects are in the market and why, and how you can maximize your chances of success. Listening to women and working on your personality is not that. That’s how you stay a 5’3” virgin. Maximizing your looks and wealth is the way to success. Danny Devito is getting laid. Why are you shouting at me when your own data you brought to the table backs me up? That trough under 5’7” with the rising slope after is exactly what men experience in the dating market.

When people say 6/6/6 it’s a rule of thumb — a reflection of reality but it’s not a hard fast rule with strict thresholds. Obviously a lot of men who are not 6 foot can make up for not being that tall. If you make $99k a year you’re not going to magically have more success at $100k. Despite this, in your chart you see the general trend reflected. There is a cusp in the trend around 5’7”, so it seems like 5’7” is the “real” 6 foot; women are short so sometimes they have no idea how tall 6’ is. Si…

That specific argument “rape is worse than death” is the straw that broke the camel’s back with me and feminism. That’s like asking me to accept 1+1=2. It’s a very traumatized brain that believes that.

The difference is in the year 2024 men are actually speaking up to other men to denounce that degrading speech against women. Any man behaves as you suggest in front of me is going to get an earful and I won’t associate with that person. But other women (such as yourself) are not speaking up to denounce that degrading speech against men. Even average women welcome hate speech against men and it has to stop.

I think their point wasn’t specifically a trial is needed but some sort of adjudication where the veracity of the parties’ statements are evaluated or at least an outcome is reached. The idea is that in this thread you see women saying they will assume a man is a rapist without any evidence, witnesses, police reports or anything corroborating. Not even a story is needed just the hint of an accusation is enough. In such an environment, as a matter of self defense, the only rational response for m…

/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 12:23 PM

It’s not that. It’s what women consider attractive is one type of man, and what men consider attractive is a wide variety of women. To see this in action, go to the romance section in any bookstore. Hundreds of romance novels, every protagonist interest is “tall dark handsome”.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:16 AM

No, it’s because men don’t operate this way. The data show men tend to be attracted to a wider variety of body types, so man naturally assume the same is true of women. But women are mostly only attracted, it would seem, to a narrow band of tall fit men. So perfectly good people who could find mates if they were women are otherwise left out of the market because they are men. What men are saying is that perhaps the dating market would be better if women didn’t focus solely on looks first. Women …

Not quite. In PA for instance you accuse someone of abuse by way of a temporary restraining order which is expunged if the accusation cannot be proven. Typically this is how false accusations happen, is they can get the temporary restraining order with no evidence. Then police make a big show of serving you with a complaint at your job or home, and of course during this time you are forced from your house with no recourse until the trial. At the hearing evidence is presented. If she falsely accu…

I’m wondering what the limits to this are. Is it just for a first date? What if it was revealed after some period of dating like a month? A year? Could another woman ruin an ongoing relationship of yours by falsely accusing your boyfriend without evidence but a believable story?

This is an example of an anti filter that women apply in dating which causes them to circle back and complain that dating is so hard. Women say they want an honest man. But when a man is honest he is thanked for his honesty and shown the door. Men see this and they decide to bottle their emotions. That man is kept around by women but they lament that he is stoic and will not show his emotions. “Oh how wonderful it would be if this man would reveal his emotions to me” they will say, but if he eve…

This is why men don’t open up. You decide not to trust based on some other guy who hurt you or some stories you heard, so you force him to retraumatize himself by reliving his abusive relationship just so you can feel comfortable. Number 1 advice to move on from traumatic relationships is: destroy all the texts and pictures and every reminder, but a man needs to wear all that around his neck the rest of his life just in case he needs to prove his struggle to a woman. Meanwhile women are to be be…

The takeaway for men who have been victimized by a woman through false accusations, is that they need to bury that on the dating market, because it actually works against them. This is very good to know.

This one really bothers me, because it seems to be specifically a way to “one-up” men having worse murder and suicide rates. It doesn’t fit the narrative that women have it so bad yet men are the ones dying. Can’t change that fact so feminist logic dictates that it must be the case that dying isn’t so bad — a man can never have it worse than a woman. They don’t have a lot of success with “always a man” because 1) it’s not and 2) it’s victim blaming, so they shifted to saying actually it’s “not a…

Yeah and guess what? The only ones who won’t be listening are exactly the ones they don’t want hitting on them. It’s like the whole “if you see a woman on the street at night, cross to the other side to make her feel safe” This is terrible advice women are giving because it means the good men will be on the other side of the street, leaving behind the bad men on your side. Women are literally telling good men to filter themselves out of their dating pool.

I agree with this and I like how you define masculinity for yourself, because so often it’s defined for us. For me, masculinity has always been about inventing, building, and problem solving — using my brain for the greater good. These are the gifts of my mind but lately I’ve come to also want to cultivate the gift of my body, so I’m trying to embrace and appreciate a physical view of masculinity that I feel I have neglected for far too long long. Which is crazy because during man vs bear the argument went: W: the worst a bear can do is kill you, but a man will lock you in their basement and rape you M: that is not something that “men” do, that’s psychopath shit W: doesn’t matter it’s always a man that does that so we must suspect all men of being capable of locking women in their basement. The thing about “other men”, those toxic men like Andrew Tate who would shame a man for being bi, is that those men can be avoided and cut out of your life entirely. They are obvious and they are loud, but there are 0 of them in my life. Can’t do that with women. You make a good point at the end. A lot of times I see women on social media reposting men behaving badly and asking “why do men behave this way?” Well, I don’t know about them specifically but what I notice is that only bad behavior gets attention from women. Like, if you’re nice to women, they will just ignore you and say “why should I say anything, that’s just the bare minimum?” But if you are mean to them, they are reposting you, talking about you, screenshotting you… even if it’s to dunk on…

This one gets me, because how many times have I heard a woman taking to me about how I don’t understand how dangerous men make it to be a woman.
