This. I've had the same best friend for the last 30 years. From the day we met in junior high. She's my person.

Apparently I do, because you stated it didn't used to be like this. We've been getting screwed over since the beginning of time. At least now we aren't required to be in a relationship with these idiots to survive.

It absolutely was like this year's ago, except that women did not have the means to get out or were stuck going that path. When you only exist if you're a Mrs., the world doesn't hold many options. Don't romanticize a time when women couldn't have bank accounts or sign on loans without a husband or have the ability to escape an abusive husband. Women did everything and the men were expected to to go work and that's it.

Nope. IDC if he Jordan Peterson says one thing right ever. He is a giant pile of flaming conservative patriarchal shit.

In 6 yrs since my divorce, I've met one guy with which I could actually have an intelligent conversation. The rest were idiots.

Mine did. I was pregnant with our 3rd kid. I was very sick during the pregnancy and postpartum and really needed the help of my husband. Instead, he got a girlfriend. For 2 yrs. The two of them went on vacation together when the baby was 1.5 months old.

I remember reading this research. My ex-husband almost always turned away. I was constantly feeling rejected in tiny ways. It was the loneliest existence. This was even before he started a double life.

Could you post an example? I not sure I've ever seen one of these.

HAHAHAHA!!! Maybe the young, dumb nurses, but most of us can't stand doctors! Who do you think they mistreat on the daily? Nurses. I've only known a couple docs who were respectful and treated their nurses well. The rest yell at us, belittle us, or throw us under the bus when they make a mistake. Docs are bad mouthed often in the nurses station. Their behavior towards us does not make them seem attractive in the slightest!

From my experience, surgeons of all sorts are the worst MDs for being egotistical pricks.

I work with them as well, and apparently a severe ego problem is required for that position.

Right there with you. The thought repulses me after OLD for 4 yrs. Stopped dating last yr, because it was all such a time-suck train wreck. Not once was the sex worth the risk, effort, and stress. I truly believe the world's obsession with sex holds humans back.

I had this happen. I was pregnant with our 3rd kid when he started a 2 yr affair. I feel for this poor woman.

The overuse of narcissist is everywhere now. People now label every ex a narcissist.

Ex worked on the road and was gone constantly. Had a whole other woman where they went on vacation together and did holidays together, while I was at home raising our 2 kids and newborn. Good times. He was also bipolar and that job brought out the worst of it. God forbid he work at home, which he totally had the ability to do.

That's my last breakup. I had some personal stuff going on. He was like "I'll wait!" and I was like THE FUCK YOU WILL.

My former FIL told my former MIL "FuckYouChristmas shouldn't be worried about getting a divorce. She did everything in their marriage anyways." Even his own parents knew.

This. I've known him for 15 years. He will help anyone that needs it, and people routinely ask him for it. What you're describing is him 100%. I know he means well. He's letting his desire for a relationship and to help me override what I'm saying and what my actual needs are.

Totally get this. He's given me a few items of advice that I most definitely did not ask for on other subjects too. He knows the field I work in, so I'm a bit insulted. I've read every recent medical journal article about these conditions, know what the treatment protocols are, and know exactly what treatments and meds they're going to suggest before I even go in. And why do they assume we need help?!?! Or that we want it?

After 15 yrs of marriage to someone who harassed me for sex because he was bipolar manic hypersexual half the time, and going through 4 years of online dating, I just don't want to have sex with any man at this point. I am turned off by the prospect. I'm currently hanging out with (I refuse to call it dating) a guy with tons of high value traits (maybe he's HV, maybe not, only time would tell). I don't even want to have sex with him, frankly. They've ruined it for me. The males of this make EVER…

Same thought here. Her version still gives the power to someone else. Make yourself happy and fulfilled. A good partner is an addition to your already existing bad ass self.

I got harassed on reddit (shocking) for saying unconditional love does not exist. All love is conditional on behavior. Even for children (yes, I have 3 that I love dearly), it's conditional on them at the very minimum not bring a genocidal maniac (family =/ unconditional love). If you love unconditionally, then you're just a doormat willing to accept any behavior from this person.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
