Your brain needs a smack. Your heart needs a hug.

No problem! I can somewhat relate. My nieces are growing up without a dad, so I try to do as much as possible with them to ensure they don't have any issues stemming from that.

Try to bond with him through activities you used to enjoy or find new hobbies to do together. It sounds like he might just be henpecked to the point where he has somewhat given up. He may just assume you are like your mother and that you aren't interested in spending time with him.

Having your shit together is nothing to be ashamed of. It's important to make your man feel needed as well, though.

You are in over your head. I don't care what the age of consent is. He is a decade older than you and you are still maturing as a person. A great number of young people who join the military as enlisted do so because they are unsure of what they are doing in life. Most officers have plans for their future and are intelligent and composed. I don't know this guy at all, and I'm sure he's really great, but you don't know what kind of man the military will turn him in to. Has he gone through basic training yet? Or tech school? These are massive, life-changing events, and if he deploys it will be even more stressful. Marines in particu…

I'm a male, so my perspective may not hold much weight, but I will tell you that if he isn't an officer it's a bad idea to put all your expectations in a 20 year old marine. Almost every marriage at that age to a servicemember is not going to work out. Whoever you choose, I hope it works out!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
