They are just the greatest western civilization of all time. They lasted more than 1000 yeara. After they fell the period was known as the dark ages. Spoken like the back of a children's cereal box. If you're trying to make a point, it isn't clear - in either of your comments.

Well said. Even considering the overwhelming female privilege, I'd still rather be a man. It is a nice list though.

It's a living philosophy that needs to be incorporated into daily life. Life is complex and there are many situations where you won't be sure how you should view about them or what the best decision is, so having read a book on Stoicism in the past won't cut it. I recommend reading a little bit every day and really applying the concepts into action.

You can be far better than me, anyone can. Your unhappiness isn't caused by your shitty situation, it's caused by your perception of your situation. You put value in things that are not essential to your happiness, therefore you've told yourself you can't be happy without a better external situation. In that case, life will always be ahead of you dragging you behind it, instead of you being in front of life and pulling it in the direction you've determined to be the most attractive. The only thi…

You might look at a horse and ask what makes him a good horse. A good horse does exactly what is in his nature to do as a horse. So, as a person a good life is living in accordance with my nature as a rational human being. Holding virtue as the highest good, and vice as the opposite. Valuing wisdom, courage, justice, and temperance as the cardinal virtues. A man in control over his perceptions and reactions does not require external events to be perfect for him to be happy.

How many rich people do you know well enough to learn if they are fundamentally happy? People that use money as their source of happiness are led by the least worthy of the muses. It's a pursuit that has no deep satisfaction. If you don't think someone could be happy in a bad situation, perhaps you could benefit from learning about some of the great philosophies like Stoicism. Seneca was being tortured and murdered by the crazed Emperor he used to tutor, and even then was able to calm his grievi…

They are happy because they value virtue over desire. A lot of people that have financial freedom are not happy, so I don't see how you can think to draw this conclusion. True happiness is a state of mind that exists independently from external events.

Warren Buffet lives in the same house he bought in 1958 for $31,500. He drives an Oldsmobile. His net worth is $65 billion. The linesman for the Baltimore Ravens, John Urschel, makes millions but lives off $25,000 per year. Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs has a contract for $94 million but still drives a 1997 Chevy Tahoe he's has since he was a teenager. It's not that these men are cheap, it's that the things they value in life are cheap. I may be wrong, but your comments give me the impr…

It wasn't a default subReddit when I joined. Or maybe I unsubscribed when I had to create a new username. I don't know, I just know I've never been to either. You backpedaled when you tried to make it seem like you're never on those subs when it's obvious from your first comment that you spent enough time there to make that observation.

This subreddit is founded on blanket statements about all women by bitter and frustrated tools. Nowhere else have I seen such confirmation bias.

Pretty much. If you get flaky shit like this, you haven't demonstrated that a date with you is the most exciting thing she could be doing that day. It takes time to build up your value to reduce flakes. In the meantime, try to set up multiple dates for the same day if you don't get time off very often.

What the fuck are you talking about? Does my skateboard have a sidegig as a lumberjack? The hobbies I listed aren't even particularly masculine. The problem isn't that his hobbies are girly, it's that they're boring. Girls are allowed to have boring hobbies because guys will still fuck a boring girl if she's hot. Nothing screams "dull and average" quite like listing cooking as your primary hobby. By all means, learn how to cook for yourself. But unless you're an exceptional trained chef, getting…

I play guitar, piano, bass and synth. I write and record music, play with other musicians, read a lot, write, go out to clubs and parties, skateboard, and I own a web development agency, which is half hobby half job depending on what I'm doing for it.

I don't know why you're being downvoted. This thread is full of feel-good yes men telling OP that it's not a big deal and that he should forget about it and it will happen naturally, like he's a fucking broad getting approached working the register at Kinkos. OP needs to go out with other friends and keep his virgin status to himself. His friends treat him like the lowest status member of their group, which he is, and girls will pick up on that even if the friends don't explicitly bring up his 0…

Of course he's concerned about their thoughts on him. Nothing says low status quite like being an older virgin, and girls look for status. OP needs to lower his standards and just get it over with.

Honestly, making genuine high value friends is much more difficult than getting laid in my opinion. I've never approached a woman with the intent of becoming her friend, that seems kind of a beta move. I really don't even bother having female friends. Women are for fucking, or share a mutual friend. I can't imagine hanging out with a woman one on one unless I'm trying to bang her.

The only asian guys I know who get lots of tail are DJs or artists. Do you live in a city? Become involved in the music scene in some way if you have talent or a good ear. Girls love DJs that play at raves, clubs, good parties. Also, you want to drop that "I'm totally random" shit right now. When I hear someone say that, it's cringe worthy. Being random makes you look uncalibrated and like a child. Try not to think of how you can be more alpha. Try to think how you can be someone people want to …

Getting dating advice from the opposite sex is a waste of time. I don't think women try to give awful advice, but it boils down to what serves their interests, not what actually makes a man attractive. Same thing for guys - if a woman asked a guy for advice, he'd likely tell her to be forward and put out. Also, asking for dating advice from a girl makes you look like a sap in her eyes. Don't ask a fish for advice on how to catch fish.
/r/seduction03/01/17 03:19 AM

Honestly there isn't too much you could do. Girls get off on flashing people and not going further. They knew it would excite you and they wanted the attention. Turning that into actually getting laid takes a level of confidence and smoothness most 17 year olds don't have. In that situation I would say "They're okay, but I should let you know I'm really not that easy girls."

You didn't just say that eating puss is good, you said you don't consider someone a man if they don't do it, and called them a "faggot in your book." So yea, I felt the need to disagree. And reading your reply was like listening to sarah palin rattling off a storm of words. Since when is premature ejaculation an alpha trait? And even if it is, that only supports my point, that a man doesn't need to eat pussy to be alpha. You say my logic is flawed, then you immediately disagree with yourself. Th…

I really don't care for the word therapy. Living is an art, and most people don't even realize how much they suck at it and have flaws coming out their eyeballs. Everyone in the world has plenty of room for personal growth, development and flourishing. Therapy is simply expensive, professional self-improvement. Therapy is associated with restoration or getting a person back to where they should be, when in reality it is about elevating a person to where they could be.

You don't consider someone a man if they don't eat pussy? OG's would say the opposite. That going down on someone is a submissive act for men that can't get the job done with their dicks. I reserve it as a once in a while thing, and only when in a relationship. Muff diving for too long and too often is way too submissive for me. A girl sitting on your face while you lick her asshole? I have a low tolerance of shitty advice from people who clearly don't know what they're talking about. If you read all the signs from this girl that scream "I don't consider you to be a sexual option" and proceed to tell OP to ask her on a date, you have no business weighing in. I doubt she would even respond if OP texted anything to her at this point. I have a few go-to transitions I use. One is when you're feeling interest, you just stop talking and stare at her eyes and lips for like 6 seconds or whatever. If she just stares back, go in for it. Another I have is if you're both standing and talking, I ask if she's comfortable with me standing this close. She'll usually say it's fine. I then lean in a bit more, and repeat the question, emphasis on the word this. If she says yes again, go for it.

Dude your friend is just giving you the summary, he's not gonna give you the verbatim of everything that was said. Kissing in the middle of a non-sexy topic is fine, but ONLY if you've received IOIs. You gotta earn a kiss, you can't just try to steal it and expect her not to recoil.
/r/seduction09/12/16 03:14 PM
12

Lord no. You need to get IOIs before a kiss happens. You can't just lunge in because you want it. Girls don't think about sex the way guys do, it's not just about physical attraction. You have to win their minds over. Just going for the kiss out of nowhere shows you don't know what you're doing and don't have much social awareness. Change the conversation to something that has to do with male/female interaction. Talk about first kisses, talk about horrible kisses you've had that are good stories…

There's a lot you can do about these issues. I used to suck at interacting with women sober, but to be honest getting wasted or even half drunk really didn't make me understand how to act. Whenever I go out to a club or a party, I limit my alcohol to zero drinks per night. In fact, I haven't had a drink in over 5 months. There's no substitution for being authentic - actually learning how to interact with people instead of liquid courage that makes you look like an ass. Forget about trying to get…

You may think they are games but they are the result of evolutionary hardwiring. Seduction isn't a logical proposal, it's a dance. Men and women are not the same, and while both may enjoy sex equally, they don't approach it the same way. Men decide very quickly if they want to fuck a girl because they primarily value physical appearance. Women value resourcefulness and status. And their brains have evolved to make them careful of with whom they sleep so they don't end up with a baby from a fathe…
/r/seduction03/12/16 03:01 AM

I disagree. Women love plausible deniability to make them feel less slutty. You want to give her an evening where she can afterward say "it just happened" to free them from accountability. Obviously you must acknowledge non-verbal cues in order to escalate or slow down, but making her spell out her consent verbally might get things to stop for no real reason. If anything, say "I'm gonna put it in, is that okay?" Then she can just nod her head.
/r/seduction02/12/16 06:44 PM

What did you gain by saying that? "Haha I got you to have sex with me! You didn't want to before, but here we are. And now you look dumb!" All you did with that comment is show you don't understand women.

If you think the reason the produce at Whole Foods is more expensive than stop and shop has nothing to do with nutrition, you're just keeping your head in the sand. Certain foods don't need to be organic (like avocados and broccoli) but most food should be bought organic, and no grocery store comes close to the selection of organic foods than WF does. Are there any resources for skinny guys with high metabolism? I work out 6 days a week, running 2 miles then working out bis/tris and abs, alternating between chest/back and legs. I eat super healthy, no processed sugar or breads or dairy, all organic, but I eat a ton of food all day all the time. 2 lunches, 3 dinners much of the time. Absolutely agree. With a work of fiction there are countless perspectives and lessons you could take. People throw around the adjective stoic a lot without understanding what Stoicism really means according to Zeno and Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius and the rest. Ancient philosophies like these already teach men most of what you need to know to achieve an impregnable constitution in the face of any or perhaps most life events. About the people whining about you not drinking - I heard some great advice on how to answer the question when it comes up, "Why aren't you drinking?" If you hold eye contact and simply say "Because I don't drink" with authority and confidence, you'll be surprised how the badgering doesn't come. There's plenty of reasons not to drink, and by saying this you communicate that you're not interested in explaining yourself and are comfortable in your autonomy to make the decision and the willpower to…

The 9s and 10s very rarely are single, they don't necessarily dump their boyfriends and then find someone else, they swing from branch to branch. If you limit your options to only single women, there's a huge portion of the market you're missing out on. It doesn't necessarily mean try to get them to cheat that night, but you can continue to try and seduce them into realizing you have more to offer than her current boyfriend.

You're home during the day, no one is judging you for that. But this is among the worst ways you could spend that time, and for that we do not forgive.

I wouldn't make a blanket statement to not get a trainer, but I would agree that most trainers at gyms are pretty clueless and not at all worth the money. It takes work to find a decent trainer, and you can spend that time educating yourself on the internet. Most people benefit just from trainers watching you and making you work harder.

Could you elaborate on what your discussion was on gender roles? Sometimes I find that I don't know what to talk about with a stranger.

Ginger beer vs. Canada Dry? Such a manly analogy.

Those are good characteristics of people who should listen or ask questions, not dilute the value of this subreddit by making worthless comments.

Holy shit this sub has gone to shit if this is the kind of comment that gets upvoted. Are you 12 years old? Is everyone here a virgin?

What city do you live in/near? If it's Philly, I can get specific. Dinner and a movie on Valentines Day? That might be cool if you're 14 years old, but if not that is a pretty awful plan. There is no interaction during the movie, and it is not something you'll remember next week let alone in the future. What was your plan for dinner, taking her to Applebee's?

What city is it? I'm having that problem right now in Philly

If you want to kiss a girl just tell her you're wearing black shoes. She'll look down, then you lean in for the kiss and bump heads.

I just started working out, I've always been pretty skinny. Now at 27 I'm starting to get a small tummy, and a trainer is having me do (among other workouts) many reps of low weights. I've heard to do fewer reps of heavier weights. Which is better for building muscle?

That's because your compliment is pretty much already known, I mean you were dating her after all. It's a bit ridiculous to think a good looking stranger going out of their way to give her a compliment, (which is also indirectly a compliment to you btw) would give her no more flattery than one she hears from her bf. Do you get more excited when your mom compliments you than a neighbor who goes out of his way to?

Should she not have been happy and flattered? Put yourself in the reverse situation.

I wouldn't say that obese people are competitors at all. Go to a bar where women are, and most guys there will be reasonably fit.

Shit man, at least ugly guys can get fit and make money and raise their value. Ugly women? Not a whole lot they can do.

I don't know, I'm pretty good at guitar and piano, and a girl isn't going to even know you play until she comes back to your place. At which point you've already done 99% of the work without the benefit of guitar. So you should learn it because it's fun, it probably won't help with women unless they can see you doing it.

What are you talking about? 80% of women includes a hell of a lot of women that the top 20% of men wouldn't touch.

It was loud so she didn't even hear what I said, as I directed it to the girl next to her. And I think she said it before I even began to speak. It completely disarmed me.

I opened a set at a bar the other night, 4 girls, and after I said something the hottest one looked up and said "ew." and looked down again at her phone. Ruined my confidence, not sure how to respond to an insult like that.

I dunno none of that seems surprising. It seems like a woman wants a man to be a man, and only occasionally be soft like described above. Women aren't a charity giving out sex to guys that want to cuddle and be timid and blend in with the wall. Doesn't seem angry as much as it seems the socially clueless acting victimized and butthurt. Thanks for taking the time to explain this though.

Not all threads and not all commenters, but some of them seem almost eagerly hateful, which to me seems unhealthy. could you sum up what it means to swallow this pill?

An update installed a bunch of bullshit on my computer, and erased my cookies so I couldn't log into reddit, so I lost a 4 year old account. I had to make a new one, and the name reflected my feelings at the time.

How does wealth help with girls? It's not like you can just advertise your salary without sounding needy. I just tripled my income a few months ago, and the only thing that changed is life got more comfortable. Doesn't mean I won't have to put the work in.

I'm new to this thread and still am unsure what's it really about. Sometimes it seems like on advice for becoming an attractive male, other times it seems like a feminism-bashing hatefest circle jerk.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
