I thought Kong: Skull Island was really good, so the drop-off in quality was pretty distressing. Maybe I need to go back and watch the OG Godzilla/Kong flicks

To be blunt, what you are searching for is a very rare quality in men. I feel like this post reflects a lack of understanding of how male sexuality works. Most men just need to see a glimpse of an beautiful woman to feel attracted in a visceral sense. It’s animal hindbrain stuff. I suspect these thoughts occasionally run through the minds of even the most honorable men, before their rational side reminds them of their love for and loyalty to another.

I think there’s an imperfect correlation, but a correlation nonetheless. One of my exes was rather introverted, but extremely wild in bed and a fantastic lover. Another ex was kind of traditional and inexperienced, I expected intimacy to be a work in progress and things never really got better. All this to say, I don’t think people always neatly telegraph how they are in bed, but there are often some signs. I’ve been surprised by people’s sexual selves and most people that know me would be surpr…

I think it’s always far easier to diagnose other people’s problems. Your post reminds me of the 30 year old guy earlier who admitted to very little success with women, but was posting about how men’s hypergamy is justified by women’s hypergamy.

I think you’re right. Some of this is always taken on faith. But if you have a good thing going with someone and their actions over a period of time merit trust, I think it’s reasonable to feel and assert that they are a good partner

I feel like there’s overlap between arousal traits and husband traits, women don’t want to marry a eunuch. I think if you are relationship minded you probably need a balance of alpha and beta traits, for example: attraction, competence, safety, reliability, strength.

Not married, but having spent stretches of my life bitter and angry, I much prefer the alternative . I think a lot of men feel like they can protect themselves against emotional risk by understanding and criticizing women’s ways, but I don’t see how dwelling on the worst behavior of the opposite sex ever made anyone happier.

Men: dress better, groom in a manner that suits you, have interests and passions outside of the pursuit of women, put yourself in settings where you can display your strengths, know that you will do better anywhere that lots of single women are present and receptive to being approached, cultivate and express a healthy sense of masculinity (more rare than you think), learn the power of physical touch, seduce her with your words and storytelling, become a closer (a lot of inexperienced men struggl…

Psychologically, why do you think men have a preoccupation with how quickly women slept with other men? Are they inexperienced? Do they want to feel like her best choice? Is it the product of sexist expectations? Does it reflect sexual jealousy? Are they afraid of cheating? I’m curious about your answer (ladies, I have my stopwatch running!)

I think Myra knows men are attracted to her. She says some are intimidated by her. But she seems to have a very specific way she wants to be approached. Can’t be a stranger, can’t be casual, has to be a pursuit. So she probably comes off as closed off and unavailable to the men she encounters IRL.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/21 03:36 AM
3

Good question. I agree that attractive, stable, relationship-minded women will probably meet cute and leave the apps relatively quickly. I also agree that women being inundated with rude and lewd messages would make them question if they even want to remain on Tinder/Bumble/etc. I also posit that men are often very visual, often more comfortable with casual sex and often far more desperate. Single men don’t have as many options so they can’t afford to not be on the apps and besides, an app where…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/21 07:54 PM
6

And my answer is, women have more options because of sociosexual dynamics and market forces. I’ve found quality women on dating apps, but it’s just plain harder as a man to get your foot in the door.

I feel like college/several years post-college can be a big stages and experiences gap. I don’t necessarily think it’s pervy, but it’s still probably a bad idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/21 07:18 PM
7

Couple of points. OLD gives most women lots of options because of lopsided gender ratios and male thirst. The apps are not your parents OKCupid and have truly changed the dating experience of most young people. I think both men and women have valid critiques of how the apps influence their dating experience, but due to the aforementioned factors, men will complain more about quantity and women will complain about quality

I could never more than casually date a woman I didn’t find fascinating, but the facts are that most women don’t have to cultivate not being boring to attract most men. That’s why every second Tinder profile is: real life Leslie Knope, dog mommy, love wine, no hookups, be the Jim to my Pam..

I’ve long wondered about your second to last point. I feel pretty invisible to both unattractive women and extremely attractive women. It’s like the former group auto-rejects and the latter doesn’t notice me. Maybe we are subconsciously on top of our game with people we perceive to be a realistic match?

This is an extremely well written set of comments. I agree with you that women’s sexual selectivity can inspire powerful emotions in men. I think that’s why we witness so much anger in pillosphere spaces about the rejection experience. One of our gender roles is to lay it all on the line and be told again and again by women “no thanks!” I think there are several common unhealthy developmental responses to this selectivity. One is to become the stereotypical nice guy who engages in superficially …

I’m curious about the framing of the question. I feel like men would be better equipped to define the desired outcomes/victory conditions of their own dating experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/21 11:43 PM

Arbitrarily, I’d say that anything more than a 3 year gap at those ages is probably too much. My best friend had a 4 year gap with his ex and they were in very different life stages.

These are both things I’ve been focusing on this year: >7500 daily steps, put on cetaphil/acne cream. I don’t even lift but might add that as a goal for 2022. Even relatively basic self-care has shown results I’m pleased with.

Sure, but that’s not the world we live in today. In fact it’s even more of a reason why men should seek to improve themselves, earning an average income today isn’t going to impress women who can go out and do the same (and that income doesn’t go as far as it used to in regards to things like houses or education). I don’t disagree that the bar has been raised in certain respects, but what about the ways it’s been lowered. I doubt most men today (myself) are nearly as capable with their hands as …

I can relate sometimes to what you write about being seen as a dancing monkey for others amusement. That being said, thousands of years of human history have molded and acculturated men to be pursuers. I agree that people shouldn’t be doing things they hate just to get a partner, but sometimes things that are hard or challenging are worth doing and may be found fulfilling in the long run. I absolutely agree that intrinsic motivation is important for men. If it’s all about external results or rec…

That wouldn’t work. But realistically only a fraction of men will meaningfully pursue self improvement and actualize themselves into strong, capable, fulfilled people. I’m increasingly convinced that part of the crisis of modern masculinity is the failure to do this

Improve their fashion, physical and emotional strength, knowledge of the world, abilities, mental acuity. I think men should try to do this regardless of their success and failure with women (but it helps with the latter in my experience)

Wow, the mods really hated that thread. I feel like these bullet points are common knowledge in the pillosphere and IRL (but not in polite company) Heck, it even matches a surprisingly redpilled discussion my mom and my best friend had a few days ago. He made some offhand comment that women our age (mid 20’s) have a billion choices and act like it. She retorted that they don’t find most of those choices attractive and have a narrower age window to work with. If the 30 year old woman doesn’t want…

Thanks. We’ve been going out for a couple of weeks. I honestly didn’t expect much from OLD, but our first date went really well and it’s been fun since. I know the type. Agree that the combination of fun to talk to, just a bit flirtatious, confident and non-threatening is a killer combo. The thing is, I feel like straight men often struggle with being genuinely outcome independent, enjoying interactions for their own sake and talking just to talk. It’s kind of man with a hammer syndrome. We find a receptive woman, really badly want to get laid and then proceed to mess it up with obvious displays of neediness and desperation.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/21 03:03 AM
1

So, will finally answer this question. I matched with this woman on an app. She’s been away for a while due to a personal matter and we’ve just been chatting online to this point. I think she’s interesting, but obviously I’ve met someone that I have chemistry with in the interim.

I feel like clubs are a particularly unforgiving environment for introverted and/or inexperienced men. I used to fear them and now I go to have fun, but I know that it’s a terrible environment for me to attract women in. Bottom line, the club scene is tough for the uninitiated and I’d recommend that OP work on the basics.

Even as a teenager I knew porn was unrealistic, especially the ridiculous positions and extreme sexual availability. That being said, I don’t think most of the unenthusiastic or unpleasurable sex I’ve had was because of my viewing habits. Often I just wasn’t on the same wavelength as my partner or vice versa. Ie the attraction wasn’t there, the communication wasn’t there, the emotional connection wasn’t there. In regards to inspiring sexual desire, I think maybe porn causes problems for some men…

I mostly agree with you. The way I see it the two big dynamics we are discussing here are A) women becoming pickier because of the apps and the plethora of choice on offer (even if a lot is fools good) and B) a lot of men failing to launch today and thus there is a perceived dearth of good romantic prospects. It’ll be interesting to see which gender makes bigger adjustments about their approach and expectations in the decades ahead
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/21 11:04 PM
3

Women (and men) are entitled to demand whatever preferences they want. If they are pricing themselves out of the market that’s not my problem. I just question whether average women getting more picky on the apps right as men are getting more schlubby, less masculine, and increasingly oversocialized will lead to positive social consequences. To quote Fountains of Wayne, a lot of people are going to find that “an hour in the shower is the best that you got”

I agree completely. The average guy is going to be secure knowing she really likes him
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/21 11:10 PM
3

I agree with most of this. A woman who sleeps around a lot is commonly perceived as a bigger cheating/cuckoldry risk and that’s what sends off the ick meter in guys heads. It might be sexist/archaic/unfair but that’s where a big part of the fear is coming from. That you won’t be secure in her affections and that she has more sexual options than you. Also, I think the investment thing can also relate to a desire to feel special or unique in regards to intimacy and a disappointment that she doesn’…

I don’t see how this will help a guy utterly obsessed with her past and N-count. It probably would mitigate things though for men who merely are worried about being desired, if romance/sex emerge concurrently in the relationship. Jealously is a pretty visceral thing in my experience and people with wildly mismatched attitudes towards or experiences with sex should contemplate if they are compatible.

Agreed, if the generational disconnect is too much to bear, it stands to reason that maybe he should be dating a little older. I’m 25 and I have little in common with anyone under 21. It would take a unicorn to get me interested in a relationship with a woman that is <21
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/21 04:26 AM

I don’t know exactly. For one, I find beautiful women extremely intoxicating, so part of me wants to hold back against the loss of control that comes with fatal attraction. Also, some childhood stuff and observing my parents marriage.

I prefer to lead with generosity and then go dutch later on. Oddly enough, I’ve never attracted gold diggers. I think it’s a combination of growing up UMC so the women are used to money/have money of their own and also not flashing around wealth in obvious ways.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/21 02:35 AM

My cardinal gripe with FDS is how extractive it is. I’m happy to pay for dates, but these ladies really want men to pay and pay. As with TRP, some of the advice sounds reasonable and common sense, and the rest of it comes off as bitter and selfish. Vetting men’s character better and looking for indications of his investment are some of the best solutions available to relationship-minded women in the current dating marketplace.

I don’t think most men want to be treated like movie stars. That’s kind of a straw man. Also I don’t even disagree re physically unattractive women and them perhaps feeling sad/unwanted. The gist of my argument is that young women have some big gendered advantages compared to their male counterparts in the area of dating. Women of PPD often refuse to acknowledge this state of affairs and men here often whine incessantly instead of accepting their lot and working with what they have
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/21 11:15 PM
2

Ok, that’s understandably annoying.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/21 10:41 PM

I think a lot of young men are upset that they will never be intrinsically desired the way an average young woman is. Maybe they don’t see the downsides as much: harassment, objectification, etc., but a lot of men struggle to get a date and so they envy women with a seeming panoply of options.

I’m not going to go with a band but rather an era. Since my parents are the last of the Boomers, I appreciate music (that I grew up listening to) from the 60’s through the 80’s. But the 90’s are just a black hole for me musically. It’s hard to feel nostalgia for an era that feels so foreign.

For me it’s a probability thing. How many lesbians am I realistically going to regularly socialize with (keep in mind that not all of them are out, so I might not even know). I have a decent number of male friends who are gay or bi, but I also happen to know the details of their intimate lives. A lot of men mostly socialize with men. I have one female best friend for example.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/21 07:49 PM

One of my big problems is neuroticism/social anxiety and I’ve found I can’t resolve these issues with more thinking or substance use (well, besides psychedelics). My advice is to literally touch grass. Make and accept social invitations whenever reasonably possible. Your social skills are likely rusty and you need more reps interacting with people. This is advice is cliched AF, but in life there is no substitute for going out and doing the thing.

My thoughts on what’s happening: The government printed a ton of money to bolster the economy through loans and unemployment benefits, there are Corona and China related supply shortages of nearly all materials and goods, American consumers and corporations are relatively flush with cash, many Boomers have to seriously be considering retirement thus removing supply from the labor pool. Its a perfect storm of factors for higher inflation, a tight labor market, and higher nominal GDP growth..

Men do know what women are attracted through, mostly through trial-and-error and by watching women’s demonstrated preferences. I value women’s opinions on plenty of matters. Good for you. I think well-considered standards are a wonderful thing. My comment was most directed at the behavior of young men who don’t know the ropes or bottom tier dudes. I actually disagree strongly with the idea that men aren’t trying to attract women, many are simply failing badly at it. What I see in our generation is that we are often poorly socialized and lack courtship skills, we display an appalling ignorance of feminine psychology, we don’t get out enough and adventure, we are ofte…

Absolutely, comfort and familiarity with preferences are very important. In hookup culture, these are often missing. Elaborating on your last point, it’s honestly confusing to me that some men don’t put in any effort. From a purely self-interested perspective, it leads to more and better sex.

I really enjoy going down on my partners and like to see them satisfied. I’m baffled that other men see oral sex as demeaning rather than confident or even dominant. When a woman’s eyes are rolling back and she’s crushing your head with her thighs, you’re in a good territory with your intimacy. That being said, a women’s orgasm can be a tricky thing. I think they could raise the bar, but it’d be hard to get women to unionize again post-sexual revolution and demand better treatment. There will always be scabs that do nearly anything to get the attention of top-tier men. One best friend generally dislikes women, so I seriously doubt he’s going to settle for someone he can’t stand. I’ll admit to Blonde Stacies being my weakness, but I object to point #2. I find a broad range of women physically attractive and have dated accordingly. A lot of folks here do “would you rather” posts between cute girls who are a little curvy and women who are model thin and my reaction is that it’s not self evident that one is more attractive than the other.

I think we need more context. But my first thought is that you need to vet better, use your experience to evaluate men’s character and what they want from you. My second thought is maybe you aren’t putting out the vibes that attract guys who want a relationship. The 2 or 3 month breakup is a pretty common drop-off point in my experience and so I’d examine the past and introspect about why things didn’t work.

The thing is some of us do complement our male and female friends for their accomplishments, sense of style, humor, etc. At the same time, men are capable of noticing the rarity with which we get a compliment and how women get 25x the complements. Most men go through life without many positive affirmations from women and it seems to me like women get a lot of compliments that fall flat due to insincerity or inappropriate behavior or being exhausted by male attention.

Well, height is the first thing people always seem to notice about me and open conversations about. I’ve had some great relationships, but I’ve realized that my confidence has set me back to this point. A lot of romantic success comes from how we feel about ourselves and how we make others feel. I think this is a big thing that people here who are obsessed about looks miss.

It’s a tried and true insult. If you want to insult a man, say something about his virility or strength. If you want to insult a woman, say something about her virtue or appearance. Modern man worries about being seen as disposable and modern woman worries about being seen as inferior.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/21 07:04 PM

They seem convinced that height is a cheat code. As a tall dude, it sometimes gets my foot in the door but I still screw it up with things like social awkwardness and not having my life together. Being tall is like a 1 or 2 point boost in SMV for men

I actually agree somewhat. Some manipulation and guile go a long way in attraction. It’s fvcked up but that’s the honest truth. At the same time, I’m not completely willing to equate casual sex with use of women. Maybe a younger me would have agreed, but when women hit men up for casual sex, who is using who? The important thing is expectations and men who pretend to offer exclusivity to get sex are trash
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 11:03 PM
1

I just reject the idea that kindness in men should be associated with only having sex in serious relationships. I also think that a decent percentage of nice guys are simply clueless and unattractive, they don’t know how to attract women but they don’t want to use them either. Nice guys being secret misogynists is often deployed as a just world fallacy about why they can’t get laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 10:52 PM

So a nice guy by your definition is a guy who is attractive, conveniently does what women wants and foregoes exercising his options. Maybe that does make him great husband material, but that behavior is suboptimal in today’s social environment. Dude is going to get walked over

I’d venture that a decent percentage of millennial and Zoomer women are so picky about surface level traits that they are also shallow in their approach to dating. Men could never maintain half of these standards and ever hope to get a date. Our gender gets dragged for objectifying women and only wanting them for sex, but women also engage in an objectification of men that is insufficiently discussed outside of this sub

I pretty much agree with all of this: socially isolated hermiticism on the rise, depression/anxiety zonking men’s ability to meet and attract women, etc. I’d also add economic circumstances: housing prices are high, inequality has made it harder for the average guy to earn a decent living, and women earn money now too so a guys decent job is just not impressive. Men were always shallow about women’s looks and now OLD enables women to be equally as shallow. We are also undergoing a revaluation of…

Being with a woman who’s super ambitious as a chill dude sounds exhausting. That’s ultimately the conflict that ended my parents relationship. Depends on the woman. If she’s attractive, she goes to the top of the option list. I think there’s a bit of projection going on in this post. Women get messaged/approached by tons of guys and devalue that attention (for reasons that are imminently understandable). Whereas for most of us guys, getting approached is kind of rare. In my past, it’s lead to one great fling and one great friendship. If you really want someone do you want to sit around hoping they feel the same way?

I think any woman with basic exposure and situational awareness can tell if a guy is a sex pest or if he is saying obviously misogynistic things. OTOH, emotional or physical abuse is often a pattern of behavior that is revealed over time. Also, a lot of male behavior is forgiven or excused if you simply are attractive. I think it’s a major reason, but not the only reason. Some men are worried about how they measure up to other guys or that she still pines after them. Some men have an instinctual revulsion to high N-count women and/or buy into double standards about the morality of sex. Maybe I have a bit of both, but I’m more concerned about falling hard again for someone that doesn’t reciprocate the intensity of my feelings for them
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/21 01:27 AM
3

I’d go with 4-10 with at least some of it being in relationships (this range includes my n-count). My reasoning is that dating a virgin would be tedious and dating a woman that gets around would send my anxiety surrounding intimacy into overdrive. Ideally I’d find someone that really likes LTR’s, but also has a high sex drive

Couple of points. I think sexualization of media has intensified, but there seems be less and less Eros in everyday life. It’s as if we’ve fallen for the image of the thing (sex in your face everywhere trying to sell you things ) as opposed to the thing in itself (people having lots of wild sex and passionate romances). I think the ‘how much casual sex question’ is very situationally dependent. Someone living in the suburbs with their parents is not going to have the same time as someone in a fraternity living with sorority girls. The people of PPD come at this with anecdotes. The relationship described by annabee sounds lopsided and borderline abusive. I don’t have many issues dating a woman wealthier or more successful than me, but not if it means putting my life completely in the backseat and being subordinate to and dependent on them.

Maybe jaded is a strong way of putting in it. I agree with some of what you are saying, but detect all or nothing thinking. Yes, most women won’t be thrilled if you suddenly quit your job on a whim, but I think a lot of women would stick with their partner through unexpected illness or hardship. I also agree that working hard to be an attractive and an alluring choice is a great approach to things. But sometimes you just need to be good enough to get your foot in the door. You sound like a good and reasonable person. I think he’s jaded and you’re a bit naive. As a man, I’ve definitely seen the benefits of being perceived as a woman’s top option. One doesn’t even have to be the best in all categories, as men here often exaggerate, but having some standout characteristics really helps. Men need to work hard to be seen as a worthy option as women tend to be pickier about their window for attraction. I do disagree with OP that an egalitarian relationship is impossible…

I think we tend to think of perfection as meeting some kind of universal ideal constructed in our heads. At 25, I think I’m in a range of 22-27 w/ possible partners. I feel society as a whole is a lot more black pilled these days. A dominant mode of thought in current era is that our problems are some other group’s fault. 10 years ago, when I was starting to read this dating/sex stuff, communities like seddit had a more optimistic tone about the possibilities for men that improved themselves. /r/PurplePillDebate02/09/21 03:59 PM

“You want a good girl…but you need the bad pu$$y.” A lot of men here are deeply in denial about how much they are going to enjoy being with extremely low-N count, inexperienced women. Most men don’t actually want one thing from as many women as possible; only some do. What many of us really want is the experienced of being genuinely desired and treated well by someone we are attracted to and respect.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/21 03:58 PM

In my experience, you flirt with intention and respectfully accept when you get clear signals that she isn’t into you or isn’t comfortable. In the bedroom for the first time, you can escalate slowly and judge their reaction. When in doubt, communicate, but keep your words light and not clinical. You’re always somewhat at risk of crossing boundaries, but if you’re mindful of the other persons words, expressions and body language, the risk that you do something unwanted is reduced

I agree with this and sympathize in the sense that the grass is always thought to be greener on the other side. I think another angle that drives division is rampant consumer capitalism. We all want more, more, more. This is bad for women because their entry into the workforce made it harder for men to provide economically at a level that impresses them. This is bad for men because, let’s face it, few of us are going to get to date Bella Hadid. So there’s a greed angle in which both men and women ride the carousel, hoping for better each spin, yet many are left alone and miserable.

I know I’m going to get hate for this, but I honestly think identity politics combined with social media have played huge roles in fueling the divide between men and women. First of all, Ipol encourages us to see people less as individuals with complex identities and more as members of discrete groups. Women are encouraged to see themselves as oppressed compared to men, even though it’s the greatest period of personal freedom and achievement for women in human history. Men notice a changing worl…

Yes, but the bar for compatibility would be far higher. In my mind, getting married without any sort of sexual intimacy is a huge risk because you can only guess at whether your sexualities match up. What if the woman is a total prude or the guy is awful and inattentive in bed? A couple would have less information on these things and the potential for negative surprises is consequently higher. I used to think about this a lot. But honestly the waiting time has varied a lot from mere hours to several months. It doesn’t feel super meaningful to me as an indicator. I don’t pursue too much because the early part of courtship frustrates me but if the interest/chemistry is there then I bed women quickly. To answer your questions: 1) If you express your desire to take things slow, through words and actions, that tends to filter out guys that want to hit and quit it. But some guys may play al…

The shivering truth is that if porn is more interesting than sex in relationship, you have bigger problems as a couple. Another scary truth is that most people will still be attracted to other people even when in a relationship.

Yeah, if you act like a doofus, the womenfolk will eschew your dick and take their bomb a$$ pu$$y to men who treat them appropriately like the Real Dolls that they truly are. Don’t try to build rapport because that’s something a simp would do. If you compliment a women, she will entrap you as a beta genie that owes her three wishes. When you see a woman you’d like to mate with, stare her down aggressively saying nothing.

The approach I would recommend is many dates and outings with a person. You can assess compatibility with the guy and build rapport, which takes some of the emphasis off of sex and signals that you are a relationship kind of girl. The guys that just want sex will scurry off quickly, leaving people who like you as a person and want to have sex with you, but also would be open to a relationship with you.

I mean yeah, pills alone won’t be enough. I think a holistic approach is needed for incels to make big lifecycle changes: things like reading, exercising, asking other people if your mental models make sense. These things are beyond the scope of the subreddit but are achievable by those motivated to change.

I agree with this. I know plenty of women that are good at understanding people, but there are aspects of being a man (or failing at that) that a dude might analyze better. Incellery is an interesting social phenomenon and I’ve noticed some definite themes in the personality and behaviors of the few incels I know irl. I think loneliness and poor emotional regulation are a definite part of many incel and nonincels approach to male dating strategy. As such, I think these things bear discussing as …

I feel male loneliness is a legitimate subject on a pill subreddit. If men had better social support networks and mental heath resources, we would have less of an incel epidemic.

I would suggest vetting the person to assess their personality and attitudes. You are never going to be sure exactly how much casual sex a guy has had, but if he goes to the trouble to invest in getting to know you and building rapport, you may have a good candidate. One of my best friends got around a lot in college. Girls were flavor of the month until he went on semester abroad and met a sarcastic, confident foreign girl. They are going on 5 years now. Maybe the sweet spot is someone who coul…

I think this is a deceptively hard question to answer. The easiest tell is that a high N man often will often push hard for sex very quickly and like they’ve been there before. Back in college, our friend group did well with the ladies, but one dude would literally maintain a calendar of girls he was pursuing and the type of investment he thought it would take to get them into bed. He was very clinical about it and it often worked. I don’t think too many of the girls were fooled though. He had t…

I think you are definitely right that aging and life experiences change what people want. Most women are going to want more security and many men don’t want to be perpetual bachelors either. I also don’t disagree about women’s desires being a huge driver of casual sex culture. But where I’d perhaps disagree is the proportion that follow the AF/BB dichotomy. I’ve met a good number of Some women. Some find hyper romantic relationships too demanding and a distraction from career or personal goals. …

@mimoxs Some women. Some find hyper romantic relationships too demanding and a distraction from career or personal goals. Other women claim they want “to death till us part” but do everything humanly possible to avoid the kinds of men and dating situations that would lead to it. Others make no claim to wanting anything besides some d*ck. My point is that peoples attachment types, neuroses, preferences, etc are varied. You for instance place a heavy commitment on fidelity and don’t really underst…

I think neither gender is perfect at calling out cheating. People justify it in themselves or people they know for a variety of reasons. Most recently, my roommates ex was super paranoid and clingy. He is a very social guy and is entering a profession where networking drinkathons are important. Sure enough, I watch as ex demands to know where roommate is more and more. Eventually, he assumes they are on a break based on some comments and fucks a girl that had been playing the waiting game on the…

I didn’t really understand fucking someone and not having it mean something until I met my second girlfriend and had a bunch of talks about it.She is a bit of an oddity compared to most women I have met on that point, but ever since then I kind of gravitated towards a more Greek understanding of love. In our culture, love and sex are very much assumed to be attached. I think that’s why some people feel casual sex is so icky. But the concept of one man, one woman, no affairs, to death till us par…

I agree to an extent. Even if the person claims to love you, their actions betray how much that means to them in practice. But reflecting much of my genders attitude towards sex, I could totally have a romp in the sheets with someone and not have it mean anything versus a relationship that means a lot. I think that your revulsion for male lust driven infidelity as opposed to emotionally driven infidelity reflects a lack of understanding of male desire.

1) I would never date an SJW but I have met several women who are avowed feminists and total sweethearts also. I would say that they are kind of the exception to the rule and most of the uber feminist women I’ve met I certainly wouldn’t date. 2) Depends. Certainly has been known to happen. 3) Could be high or low for feminists depending on values, worldview and personality. Likely very low for women I regard as SJWs because we just wouldn’t agree on anything and I wouldn’t respect their intellec…

I like this comment and relate to it. Honestly, I feel that the consolation prize of being born in the mid 90s is that interesting stuff will probably happen in society by the 30’s. I envision sort of weird generational change that blows turn of the century culture out of the water.

A lot of the women I’ve slept with have been more desiring of casual relationships than me (not sure whether to feel used or flattered or both). I’d say that the most avid playboys/playgirls who have low inhibition and like variety are unlikely to wait 3 months for most people. From the male perspective, I just want to see signs that a woman deeply desires me and understand that people have different timelines on intimacy. There’s a sweet spot of waiting.
