Have fun on your own then.

it seems that you have a bias against men Nope. I don't even think about men. You flatter yourself that I'm interested. I would offer the exact same opinion to a woman who said what you said. You're red pilling for sure now. It's not all about you. And given that your first response is to attack others for criticising you when you specifically asked for criticism, I doubt you will find the solution to your insecurity any time soon.

In which case you have answered your own question and the answer is no. If it is not women's responsibility to help you then it is not selfish of us not to do so.

It is not the responsibility of anyone else, woman or otherwise, to "build up your character". You are supposedly a grown adult. Find your own solutions to dealing with your shyness rather than assuming that it's up to whoever you're talking to to do so.

Honestly I think phrasing this in terms of a need for sympathy is the wrong approach. I personally deal with disappointment, which is what this post is really all about (expectations not being met) through a lens of (actual) Stoicism, not "stoicism", which is to say a philosophical perspective that there are things outside you that you cannot control, so don't try to, and there are things inside you that you can control, and notably the things you can control (with practice) is how you react to …

OK. How about this situation: I'm not and never have been interested in dating men or "investing in my looks" I had a career job when I met my soulmate, and it was a very good job My job took me to distant places for long periods and being separated for long periods is incompatible with making a relationship work. Choice is my partner follows me around the world or I give up my career. My partner's job was/is much more lucrative than mine, even though mine could be seen by many as more "successf…

Indeed, and most women are not looking for this.

Everyone is unattractive in some way and not in others. Attraction is subjective, there is no such thing as being objectively attractive. Some people have aspects they care about and aspects they don't, which will affect how attractive they will view others for any particular purpose. Wanting to sleep with someone, wanting to spend time with them, trusting them to do things you need doing, are all purposes that any one person may decide that another person fulfils to a greater or lesser extent. …

So in the examples I gave above, who is criticizing who, and what behavior or activity is being engaged in?

No. Hypocrisy is pretending to have virtues or moral principles that one does not in fact possess. Neither of these examples are hypocritical.

Neither of these things are hypocritical. Let's replace X and Y with some sensible values and see how your statements measure up. "You're not a woman so you can't want a woman in a partner. Hypocrite". Clearly false. "You killed someone so you can't ask for someone who didn't kill someone. Hypocrite" Also clearly false. If you start from obviously false premises then nothing you say is going to make any sense. Your argument is totally bogus.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
