Not only should you just say you require him to be tested, you should be specific to say what you need test results for, AND that he needs to bring them for you to see yourself. They need to be dated, and with his name on them. Consider it a vetting moment if he balks in any way. There is no valid argument against this requirement, and any he makes let's you know to run.

Honestly, I think these concepts are why so many men in the military take issue with the women in their divisions, battalions, etc., and why there was so much push back about women in combat roles. It isn't that we can't do the job. In fact, most women in the military are MORE capable on many levels than the average man. They have to be in order to receive even average marks on performance review. Men are against women being present because there will be someone to recognize and report their act…

Honestly, I would never even consider moving closer to a man, regardless of your commutes. It's a ton of hassle to move, and you will lose that time and money forever. If you break up a month later, you're out thousands of dollars AND now you have to worry about seeing this man's face when you grocery shop. Make absolutely no major changes to your life unless you're married, or because YOU want to. Finding a place you love that happens to be closer, maybe, ok, sure. It's for you. Finding a place…

This. Society has drastically skewed our view of what healthy is in regards to women's weight. It's always recommended to speak to your health care provider before starting a new diet or exercise regimen. The only exception might be to make generally healthier choices, without calorie counting or other forms of restriction for the sake of weight loss. There is no such thing as too many fruits and vegetables in your diet, but there is such a thing as not enough calories or protein.

The 11 relationships would not be what concerns me about his propensity to settle down. His choice of career speaks to a man with no intention of putting down roots at this point in his life. Nothing wrong with that, especially at 28, but if you're looking for serious and long term, he probably isn't it right now. Also, if he was in a relationship for 2 years a few months ago, why is he already dating again? How did that end? How do you know he doesn't have feelings for her? 11 relationships doe…

This is why the only joint account you should have with any man, regardless of how long you've been together, is one for your joint expenses and one for your joint emergencies. Even if he does clear it out, it's a fraction of what you have. There is no reason for all of your money to be tied to another human being, ever, for anyone.

Just to let any of you know that are less than tech savvy, you can deny access to anyone on your router by IP address. Or, you can allow access but throttle their speeds to so low they might as well not be on the internet. I suggest the latter, since it's impossible to prove without admin access to the router, and everything will appear normal for the other users.

It smacks of "if he wanted to, he would" for me. What is the point of a promise ring instead of an engagement ring? For a teenager, I take issue because they're too young to make a lifelong commitment like marriage is SUPPOSED to be, so they shouldn't be promising anything. Their brain isn't developed and they don't even know who they are and what they want out of life. For an adult, I don't understand why you wouldn't fully commit with a proposal. What is he promising you? That he can't manage …

If you've seen the movie "Me before you", the gift giving scene highlights it well. Her boyfriend buys her an expensive and personalized gift that is literally about him and how she makes him look. The other man gives her something extremely personal for her, but not actually expensive. The expensive necklace would have been the same regardless of who the LVM was seeing. The particular socks she wanted would've been a terrible gift for anyone EXCEPT her. She was elated.

I agree. It sounds like something out of "Why does he do that?", so of course it reminds OP of her abusive ex. Drunk words are sober thoughts, so that's no excuse. His reaction to your insecurity was to push instead of reassure you. It's basically blood in the water.

That's only half true. It's also genuinely easier to contract an STD through anal sex. Science is important, and for any women who choose to engage in anal sex here, as much as it's not recommended by FDS standards, you should be aware it increases your risk for STDs even if it lowers (but does not eliminate!) your risk for pregnancy.

This. Frankly, if he WON'T log in and show you his account, that's a deal breaker. Period. If he's not comfortable with you seeing exactly how he has spent his money, to include going through his statements, he is not husband or father material for you. Everything he has said would be part of the game, and he knows his statements and balances will give him away.

It's never too late for those sort of things. You can get records from any medical or dental office, tuition, day care, etc. Compare to your bank statements showing what he has sent you. If you've been doing cash, STOP. Everything needs to be verifiable. Take charge, sis. If he wants 50/50 benefits from you and his children, he needs to be taking that half of his responsibility, too. You can also adjust your child support order to reflect average cost of all these things over the course of a yea…

This was my exact thought. He's just telling on himself that the best marriage is one in which the man holds all the power and the woman does as she's told.

Also generational trauma. The effects of childhood sexual assault impacts future generations by impacting how the victim is able to parent. The emotional damage is undoubtedly going to affect a myriad of things in a child-parent relationship, even after significant therapy.

Chemical castration removes the ability to get an erection, NOT sexual desire. This is important as a distinction, because there is precedent of castrated men continuing to do perverse things to women and children despite not being able to have penetrative sex with their own organ. It's not a solution, but can be part of a larger mitigation and prevention plan.

Exactly. Joint accounts should only be used to pay the bills you've agreed to split, and the only money that should go in each month is the exact amount required to do just that. It gives you both the visibility to confirm payments were made and all the details therein, but removes all the other drama.

Exactly! There's a huge difference between asking for help finalizing plans or a gift because you're concerned about it being as high quality as possible and asking for plans to just be made for you. If you weren't 90% of the way already, you shouldn't be asking for assistance.

Yes! EVEN THE MEN! I've had this conversation with so many men at work who are also in their 30's and still single. Of course, most of them fucked everything they could when they were younger, but now they realize it didn't actually make them happy. I really think half the LV/NV men out there are just as much fooled as the women are about finding joy in their treatment of women. I'm not being an apologist, but it explains the escalation over time. Even if it's terrible behavior, all behavior has…

Am I the only one who thinks it's weird to actually care what other people have to say about how you live your life? Queens, if they have something to say, it only affects you if you LET IT. What does the handbook say? A queen does not waste her time on inconsequential people and things. From another woman, some questions and genuine conversation about it is one thing, but don't suffer through snide comments and the like. At the very least, you should ignore them. If it continues, you should rem…

Honestly, I would drop these friends. If you don't want to open their eyes, have already verbalized that you're happy to wait for the right man instead of settling, and aren't complaining to them about your singleness to start that conversation with someone not like-minded, then they're just being negative and trying to pull you down. If you won't take negging and questionable emotional support from a man, why would it be acceptable from a friend? You don't have time for all that queen.

I really think things like this are exactly why most men behave as they do. 100 years ago men were interviewing women to fill the role of wife, because women needed a caretaker and protector. If you didn't marry, it was your father, brother, etc. An unmarried woman in her 30's was a person to be pitied. Now, with women being fully capable of caring for themselves, we are interviewing men to fill the role of husband, and most men haven't caught on that they're no longer in a position to force a w…

I was just thinking about this in regards to FDS yesterday, and a few times over the week honestly. To be exact, I was wondering where we draw the line between proper hygiene and maintenance to level up, and where it becomes body modification designed to make yourself appealing to the ridiculous beauty standards set by the misogyny inherent in our culture. Considering leg shaving was brought into vogue in the US by a man trying to sell more razors by lying to women about its practice in Europe, …
