Yes and no. There are still loads of Gen Z who act sensibly. The problem comes from those who spend too much time online. These are the women who believe they live in a 3rd world country (America) and that masculinity is the root cause of the world’s problems. These are also the men who think all women are OF thots and live the life of Miami 10’s on rich dude yachts. The reality is that men and women generally like each other because they are biologically wired to do so.

Unless you are one of the people who believe men can get impregnated by women

Because anonymous social media sites allow you to attack, ridicule, and spew false reputational damage against people with no consequences. This is an integral part of intersectional politics. Call everyone a racist, misogynist, Nazi, transphobe etc. instead of actually engaging in real conversations, reverting back to ad hominem attacks that virtue signal you are on the “right” side. Funny story. I was at a bar with a friend who, let’s say, grew up more rural than most people. A group of guys/g…

As a father of a girl. I honestly feel bad for any of the impressionable young women who go on that sub and believe these other miserable women who know better than to spew hate.

As a pregnant man, I totally agree.

I personally can’t stand these transphobic apps. I’m writing them a letter as we speak. /s

For those wondering what hate leads to, check out this thread I saw earlier today and pay attention to the vitriol people are capable of: https://www.reddit.com/r/AmIOverreacting/s/A7V0W57Nzk Do not become like the people in this thread. Where they can’t see past their own arrogance and hate for the “other” group that they deem reprehensible, and ultimately evil/subhuman. This will lead you down a path of misery. The best thing you can do is try to learn from those you disagree with, and use it …

I respectfully disagree. There are absolutely pressures from institutions to compel people to speak certain ways, particularly regarding trans pronouns, and I have personally experienced it myself in both college, my workplace, and in my life in general. Either way my point still stands that respect is a two way street. No idea why you are bringing up deportations, Israel, or free speech absolutists. Seems like you are flinging shit at the wall and seeing which straw man it sticks too.

What was weird to me was the blind faith involved in believing that there are thousands of genders. Like, there’s no real observable proof in the same way you can’t prove there is a god. It really just boils down to whether you believe it is real or not and want to follow that practice. Which is why I feel the same about trans stuff as I do about religion. Practice whatever you like and more power to you for doing it, but don’t demand others cater to your belief systems just because you say so.

I’m all for respect. But it’s also a two way street. If someone doesn’t want to be compelled and shamed for not using made up pronouns then they should be respected as well.

Is it only a small percentage tho? Even when I was in college it seemed like trans issues and trans ideology was being pushed pretty hard. And not even in my humanities classes. We had some pretty weird DEI stuff being pushed in my business courses too which was clearly seeping in from other departments.

Holy cow. You know, I’ve always been pretty libertarian in my views towards gay and trans stuff. Never cared because it doesn’t negatively affect me and what people do in private is none of my business. But this seems like it’s going maybe a little too far. I dunno… is society better off for having over 6000 genders? Maybe it’s because I’m about to be a father, and now I’m thinking about having to explain things to my daughter but idk. The more I read into it the more it seems like a fad

I never said you stated it, but your post definitely implies it. Or that at least some people shouldn’t be allowed a bestselling book. So I asked a question. Just seems like a weird piece to add. Any person can write a bestselling book like you said… as long as their books sells well. That’s like, the whole point.

Why would books supporting Trump not be allowed to be bestsellers? That was a weird thing to add.

Depends on what you mean by “valid”. The idea that every single woman who initiates divorce (which is about 70% of divorces) is being abused physically/emotionally is ridiculous. We as a culture have made it okay for people to go back on what is supposed to be an unbreakable promise, and the courts are set up so women benefit a vast majority of the time from this. Giving someone your word means nothing anymore because you can just take it back at any moment and be rewarded for it (particularly i…
