No. You didn't. Because if you only listened to the opinion of "the best chef of the world", you would literally NEVER get any criticism. As amazing as Ferran Adria is, he is not flying around the world, calling in to tiny suburban restaurants to offer his opinion on the food, service, decor and ambience. "Haters" And how do you differentiate "haters" from legitimate critique in, say, the restaurant business? Who dictates whose opinion is worthy of consideration, and whose is worth discarding? "Haters" is a just dumb glib term for people that you don't agree with. The problem with that being that your ego will often file valid criticism under "hater" simply because it is too fragile to accept hard truths.

I am a Chef. A large part of my career is focused on sifting through the criticism of unqualified “food bloggers” and instagram “celebrities”, while trying find nuggets of valid criticism. It can be exhausting.

I am always wary of any person who tells you not to listen to critics. What is success, if not measured against the success and impact it has on others? Listening to criticism is vital, it is choosing which criticism one takes stock in that matters.

I live very close to this cafe, and I also work in the cafe industry. Melbourne's cafe scene is too competitive for anything this shitty to fly for long.
