I'm glad that you got through it I personally still have comfort issues around women One thing that helps is to realize that women aren’t the problem. Women with mental health issues that drive them to abuse is the problem, whether it is narcissism, BPD, OCD, whatever they might have that makes them unable to maintain a healthy relationship. I don’t want to shame women with mental health issues, but you don’t have to show support by allowing them to abuse you. They are perfectly capable of seeki…

I’ve been the victim of a few abusive women. The worst one was a narcissist who emotionally abused me for most of the relationship and it escalated towards physical abuse near the end. Throwing things at me, hitting me, slapping me, she even strangled me. I was afraid to go to the police because she would tell me to “go ahead and call them, we both know who will get arrested”. She lied to me about birth control, then took advantage of me while drunk so she could baby trap me. She raped me throug…

I never heard of woman face, going to look this up now. But it makes me think of those old Kids In The Hall skits where the guys dressed like women for comedic effect. I could see it making sense if that’s what they’re referring to, but not to femboys or trans women (or alt men like goths / metalheads)

Is this discrimination coming from women? As a metalhead dude I used to paint my nails black and wear black eyeliner, dyed my hair black too and grew it down to my waist. Only people who complained about it were other guys calling me gay. The ladies always wanted to straighten my hair, paint my nails, and put on my eyeliner. I got a lot of great advice from them on how to care for my hair and makeup tips. Maybe things are different now though and I haven’t noticed since I don’t do that anymore. …

Look at this gem of a comment from the sub I agree 100% with you, if you are in any kind of relationship with a man, whether it’s casual flirting or marriage, if you leave that relationship without having gained any materialistic things (e.g. gifts, jewellery, money, vacations, expensive dates, car, connections, etc.) then you have essentially wasted your time and time itself is money.

Wow, it’s a group full of narcissists helping eachother be better narcissists. Looking through the posts and comments made me sick. Calling men their “marks” and talking about how to get them to behave. One post has all the comments talking about how best to use the silent treatment to shape their men, this is emotional abuse and I hope their “marks” leave them and post their pictures on an “are we dating the same woman” group to warn others.

He turned your head with his smile. Made you laugh while serving you. Made sure your drink was always topped off. And his hair was in pigtails 😆 super hot

So apparently we tip based on sexual attraction? Does this mean it is gay to tip male waiters?

No worries. I left her a long time ago. My current partner is not a narcissist like the one I was talking about above, so there’s no issues.

People who fail suicide attempts try it multiple times too, adding to the number of attempts from a smaller amount of people. If you’re successful, of course you’re just one and done as far as statistics go. Men typically choose more violent methods right? Not likely to survive a self inflicted gunshot, but a pill overdose can be survived time and time again.

Husband yelling - calmly express your feelings or call emergency services. Wife yelling - listen to what she has to say. My take - no one should be yelling, period. Take a walk and cool off then have a calm discussion after when you’re both in a level headspace. Unless it’s a situation like with my ex where she would scream at me and try to block the door so I couldn’t leave and it would escalate further. Apparently chatgpt is saying I should have listened to my ex call me names and try to break…

Man, this bullshit is what made me stay with my ex for so long. Women can’t be abusive so I thought I was the problem. Narcissists are real good at making you think you’re the problem. All of the resources at the time about abusive relationships used gendered language always painting the man as the abuser. I’m glad that more resources now are acknowledging that women can be abusive but we’re still a long way from equality, as shown in this post and that chatgpt post about yelling

I almost decided to stay single for life after too many toxic relationships. The serenity of being single was just pure bliss compared to horrible experience after horrible experience. Then I learned I was falling for love bombing techniques from narcissists and women with BPD. Learn to identify red flags of both disorders before you give up on relationships. I’m in the best relationship of my life now, but it took the strength to end relationships immediately upon spotting these red flags. Or e…

Thanks, I left her a long time ago. I’m actually kind of grateful for that relationship because it led me to researching about narcissists after and learning all of the red flags. She was absolutely a narcissist, and most of my dysfunctional relationships before her were women who must have had borderline personality disorder. Everything I read about those fit perfectly. When I went back into the dating scene I cut contact with anyone displaying any kind of red flags for narcissism or BPD so it …

Especially if they project their own insecurities onto you. The ex that I caught cheating was the same one who had something to say if I so much as glanced in another woman’s direction, but she would obviously check men out right in front of me. She told me I had to cut contact with any friends that were women, but when I pointed out the hypocrisy of her keeping her guy friends around I was called “insecure” and “controlling”. If I liked a meme shared by a woman she had something to say, but she…

What gets me is they think only women carry the mental load. What about the mental load of paying the bills, keeping up with repairs and maintenance on the house and appliances, maintaining the yard, keeping the car insured and in working order so the family has a way to get around? And that is only when it comes to traditional gender roles. How much mental load we carry in a modern relationship can vary greatly from couple to couple. In addition to the mental load above: I make sure the fridge …

The cafe is the perfect spot for a first date. Order your coffee at the counter one at a time, or if she expects you to pay then it’s likely only $5. Can stay for as long as you like if you hit it off, or leave after 15 minutes if you don’t. Don’t be wasting your money on women you don’t know. If it’s beneath her to go to the cafe for a first date because she wants something fancy when you don’t even know her, that should tell you a lot about her. Fancy dates can come after when you’re building …

Men do not face the same type of abuse? So my ex who slapped me, pushed me, choked me, threw things at me, smashed my stuff, dragged down my self esteem every chance she got, screamed at me, threatened me, gaslit me, humiliated me, raped me through coercion, cheated on me, stealthed me by lying about birth control. None of that happened according to feminists?

It takes a court order. I used to work IT at a bank and we had a script called the “deadbeat dad” script (it was named that long before I started, I hate the sexist name of it too). But it searched the system for accounts that could possibly belong to anyone named in the court order lists that we received. I don’t know the legal process behind it so might want to ask a lawyer, but as the guy teaching me about this once said “if the government wants you to pay the money you’re hiding from your ki…

I wouldn’t be surprised at all. The ex I caught cheating was the same one who was insanely jealous and would comment every time I even glanced in another woman’s direction, yet she would very obviously check men out right in front of me. Told me I had to cut contact with any friends that were women because “guys and girls can’t be just friends”, yet called me controlling if I tried to point out the hypocrisy of her keeping guy friends around. I wonder sometimes if these people know they’re proje…

One of the things that bothers me about this is I’ve seen women do most of what they’re complaining about from men. I’ve had narcissistic ex girlfriends so I’ve seen some of the worst of it, but I’m not going to generalize women by saying “women do this, women are that” etc. Narcissists are narcissists regardless of gender. I saw one on twoX the other day saying men are dumb because they don’t understand consent and get pushy. Yet they ignore that a lot of women do the same thing, especially if …

I’m told to smile all the time as a man. Always getting told “you’re too serious, you should smile more”. Especially after someone made some kind of jab at me that was supposed to be a joke, but it happens other times too like “you’re more handsome when you smile”. It’s usually women telling me to smile more so maybe it is gendered. I can’t remember the last time a man told me to smile, not counting my time in customer service because you’re generally expected to be a smiling soulless robot for …

If ladies like you, they will approach. Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, have an upvote from me. Women absolutely do approach men they find attractive. I lift weights, wear well fitted clothes, stay well groomed, take care of myself. Women approach me and tell me they love my gauges, tattoos, hair, eyes, whatever. But I’m in a relationship so I give them a polite thank you and keep it at that. making the first move is setting yourself up for problems. Have to disagree here though. It depen…

Complimenting looks or the body in any way seems more likely to put her off than get her interested. Guys like that must be a dime a dozen for any attractive woman. Be more imaginative. I’ve had more success finding common ground and figuring out how we connect as human beings. She’s wearing a band shirt? Cool, let’s talk about music. T-shirt has Freddy Krueger on it? Let’s talk horror movies. Complement stylistic choices like tattoos, earrings, necklace, etc. Be genuine. As for location, where …

This is such a harmful stereotype for men. I blame this whole “men want sex 24/7” and “men use women for sex” stereotype for all the times I said no and either got called gay, screamed at, guilt tripped. I’ve had to either just give in or stay up consoling a crying girlfriend who thinks I’m not attracted to her anymore. I even had a serial cheating ex point to me occasionally saying no as an excuse to put the blame on me when I caught her cheating. I’m so lucky that the partner I’m with now can …

Most people only notice their own problems, I don’t know if I would say this especially applies to any specific group. We’re all so busy fighting to survive and handle our own issues that at the end of the day maybe we’re just too exhausted to pay attention to what is going on around us. That’s why it’s important for everyone to talk about their own struggles and maybe even more importantly: we need to listen to others when they speak of their problems that we can’t relate to and try to empathiz…

I was out with some friends at Target, one identifies as a feminist so I pointed this out to her. In the men’s section you only see handsome and athletic male models with zero flaws but in the women’s section you see models of all shapes, sizes, and various features that are not “conventionally attractive” by societal standards. I was not making a jab at these female models, I 100% support it and am glad that more women can feel beautiful when they see someone that looks like them as a successfu…

In my experience it is the narcissistic women that have a problem with doing chores and housework. I’ve had that experience before where I had to do everything and provide and if I brought up the conversation about putting in our fair share it was met with anger and arguments. These are narcissists who think the world should revolve around them. In my current relationship with a woman who is not a narcissist, we worked out the chores that are her job and my job. I drive and she doesn’t have a li…

You’re right, jokes are jokes. But when they’re at the expense of someone’s well being, are they still funny? I have a friend that went to jail for a possession charge and literally everyone made jokes about him getting raped. People he called friends laughing about the possibility of him being assaulted all because he got caught with drugs. He never wanted to talk about his time in there so maybe he really did get assaulted, we’ll probably never know.

Living the experience and hearing stories of others is what got me interested in men’s rights too. When I saw first hand how celebrated she was and no one listened to me. I also reflect on the fact that most resources about abusive relationships use gendered language as if the man is the abuser, and every time I tried to talk to someone about her red flags it would get brushed off “that’s just how women are”. No, I learned after that these were all red flags of a narcissist. If we had better edu…

This is what happened to me…. I would gladly have taken male birth control. My ex wanted me to stop using condoms because she said it feels better. So I drove her to planned parenthood, went into the office with her, paid for the birth control, and continued being cautious for at least a month so it would have time to take effect. Since it is not 100% guaranteed to prevent pregnancy I had the discussion with her what we would do. No hesitation she said she would get an abortion but couldn’t affo…

You know when you’re reading anecdotal comments about men, how men do this and that, and how bad they are? You know that feeling you get like “that’s not true, not all men are like that. I’m not like that.” It’s the same for women. Don’t get caught in an echo chamber. We share anecdotal experiences and it can be easy to fall into the trap of slapping labels on people when you read more and more horror stories. But realize it’s just a label and people are so much more complex than that. Get out m…

He’s a deadbeat for leaving the abusive woman that was caught cheating multiple times, who lied about birth control and took advantage of him while drunk, forcing a baby he never wanted in the first place (true story 😞) But also being treated like trash every time he steps up trying to be a father. Confronted for being a man with a screaming child at the playground, not having changing stations in the men’s room so you have to go out to your car to change a diaper, being judged left and right fo…
