You can certainly argue that the character was “completely happy”, and that the only problem was external pressure on him to conform to “normalized social expectations”… … but you could also argue that the character was not truly fulfilled, and had flaws and hang ups that were preventing him from succeeding in one particular avenue of life. If so, external validation that says he’s “just fine how he is” would in fact be damaging: we often need people around us to help push us in the Right Direct…

From my point of view, TRP gave me a convenient way to hide myself away, and avoid being vulnerable in new relationships. Didn’t realise this so clearly at the time, but I’d recently had a rejection after “diving in” a bit too fast with someone before I’d had a chance to check her intentions were good - actually she was one of the first women I’d encountered who potentially had “bad” intentions; was happy to string me along, that hadn’t happened before So I was looking for an explanation that sh…

If I had used cold approach fairly actively over the past ten years, I’d certainly be married with kids now, which is what I dearly want It’s not that I didn’t/don’t do it, it’s that I didn’t do it enough, in fact often totally resisted it, or misguided it (looking for hot sex, when really I wanted a great long term partner). Also, not being strategic and knowing when and where I could’ve (regularly) used it to eventually guarantee the healthy long term results I wanted I think also it gets lost…

I’ve tried it a handful of times in my life (to experiment), and can definitely confirm. It was interesting to know just how much of the experience is based on the fact that the other person is a willing participant This was actually very refreshing to learn

The thing is, some women will select a guy like that for short term fun, because they offer that, and because she knows she won’t have to worry about it being a long term thing I don’t blame them tbh, makes sense

Been there too a couple of times, I believe - although it’s hard to me since you don’t have the full picture. Women thrive on attention. The challenge is making sure they have the right (mutual) motivation. Moving really fast at the beginning is usually a bad sign because it’s in the interest of a high quality woman to vet guys for much more fundamental reasons (eg basic safety) than it is for guys. I think it’s too easy for men to forget this, and get wrapped up in the sexual and emotional exci…

Social media generally allows minorities to appear very loud, meaning you hear little from the “silent majority”

Best option for what? Hitting the wall means baby rabies. You can be her willing DONOR for a few years, but then you will be redundant, consigned to the scrap heap. You're not her best option if she has few options. You're her last ditch attempt This is basic, stuff, man. Her "career" means jack. Your judging women by male standards. Don't do that

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
