OK. Good luck to you.

Pretty sure you're not a doctor. You wouldn't like it if I called you out on being subpar in intelligence and wisdom. It's not my business, ya know.

It's no one's business to point out other people's looks, particularly since you don't know their situation. So yes, that's shaming.

I guess you and I will both have to stop subscribing to Cosmo then. I have heard men call women who were 5-10 pounds overweight "fat." So no, they don't need to be shamed and it's not the same as someone addicted to drugs. Your response is a lot of personal examples, a mistake people make in situations like these. Just because you were able to lose weight or change your attitude, doesn't mean everyone is like you. Not everyone wants to clap back. Some want to be treated with respect. Thanks for …

especially when women are most fertile. When you say nonsense like that, you reveal that you think you know everything about women when you know nothing. Who even says that? Your point about "nice" is pretty much the same as mine - it can't be your only requirement for dating someone. But when women, for what ever reason, aren't attracted to a nice guy (and there can be many other reasons), they're made to feel like they're not even allowed to say no. Wmen may say "You're a nice guy but" because…

You've actually made my point. Lots of nice guys are successful at dating and get married. Sometimes, women meet a nice guy and don't fall in love with him. Then they're shamed for that. As for Tess Holiday and Whitney Thor, please. I don't actually know who they are (so I guess they're not pushed too much) but I'm guessing they're the exception. And going by a r/niceguys whiny reddit or a whiny saying doesn't mean anything. Sorry boss.

The media doesn't push them. Women who ARE plus-size or curvy shouldn't be made to feel bad, as what's the point? Your response shows exactly why it's harder for women. You say they should "just" do this, that, and the other thing that you perscribed. Men aren't shamed for whoever they're not attracted to; that's what women are shamed for (why didn't she go out with him? He's a "nice guy"! What right did she have to say no???)

At least someone understands the standards women would have to stick to in order to avoid being called "fat" by men.

Why can't you agree with something like this without bashing feminists? Also, everyone is objectified in Hollywood, but let's talk about the rest of us who live every day life? Guys talk about women's looks all the time, this one is too fat, this one is hot. I'm sure you can find women doing it but most of us talk about how we met a great guy, not a hot guy.

Or just that you're looking too hard for reasons to be angry at women.

because it's posted under the "women" subject head. this isn't "the media" reporting it.

Yes and you used the one incident as an argument against feminism in the US. If you'd just complained about the one incident and not tried to make it about feminism, which tries to protect women from thousands of sexual assaults, your point would be made.

Gosh there aren't even enough women for you to get angry at in the US, you had to go find this example. Really. You know how many women are killed by ex-boyfriends each year? Take a chill pill.

And you can't always tell the difference between a real attempt and a cry for help. This post is, in a way, making fun of women (and mental illness) and every bit as bad as the OP. If someone takes pills to cry for help, they're in a bad state. And the reason people bring up men being successful at suicide is BECAUSE people use the male suicide rate to respond to stories about women being killed in domestic violence incidents, an attempt to show that men hurt too. I've seen it over and over. Bot…

This post is every bit as bad as the original. Taking "a handful of pills" as "a cry for help" is still a severe sign.

Oh lord. Some women like nerds and some like men that are stronger, and there is quite a range of women, just like men. It's too bad you don't see it. Here's a tip: Just like some men are nerds and some are not, some women LOVE quiet, thoughtful men and some do not. I've seen more than one "nerdy" guy reject a nice girl in favor of a pretty drama queen too, but that's their right. Some men chase the wrong women, then want to blame all women. Your (capital letters) NEVER LET THEM FORGET THAT show…

zzz. there are like 20 things in this graphic and I wasn't replying to that one. don't be such an angry man.

Speaking of sex ed, she can't get herself pregnant. Also, I doubt 20 percent are trying. DO you guys believe every graphic that's posted without checking it out?

Running away? Odd. I'm still here, just not engaging with those who resort to silly name-calling. The woman-bashing was directly before my comment, when people said it's women who reject guys who express their emotions. You can read it yourself.

Oh there are plenty of people who will make you think it's totally ok to blame people for their ongoing health problems, because you were able to overcome your specific issue. If name-calling is positive and healthy for you at your age, feel free to do that too, but I do hope you come to a better place in your life. Good luck!

"Shaming of undesirable behaviors has existed for as long as mankind as been around." Then you agree it's not from Hollywood! Glad we resolved this. Whew.

No matter what the cause? Give me a break. I'd have far less tolerance for ignorance, and yet some people are willfully ignorant and have no excuse (like people who blame others for weight problems, when medical side effects or the condition itself could cause a weight problem.) Comments like yours make people feel ashamed. Weight is much harder to control than ignorance about weight.

PS you want credit because you healed? And blame those who don't heal from cancer? What can I say to that except...ewww. Congrats on curing cancer all by yourself, I guess, maybe you can do that for others instead of referring to those who are sick for longer than a few years as Beckys and Chads. Children with diseases often stay positive. Some make it, some don't, but it sure ain't because some WORKED to heal and some don't. I guess if this is how you view life, I won't change it, but I hope yo…

"You shame the term Chad because you are not your best Becky self." Oh lord, what Kool Aid did you drink. Labeling men and women this way shows a hatred of both men and women. You have fun on the playground with Chads, Beckies, Petes, Daves, Caitlins, and whoever else; most of us will realize there's good and bad in people and try to search for the good, and be our best, not blame and shame everyone else.

Blaming "Hollywood"? How about blaming actual people who allow themselves to get influenced by tv, movies, online groups, or whatever, to a point where they shame others? Of course movies will show beautiful people. Yet I see men bashing overweight women all the time...are you going to say they did it because they watched a tv show? How about personal responsibility. "Hollywood" is millions of people of all types, and blaming them is just lame.

Yet some people don't get cured, and are just doing their best to survive with a disease. Talking about Chads and other made-up terms is nonsense and just makes men feel bad about not looking up to beauty standards.

Glad you brought this up. Lots of women are overweight because of a medical issue, yet are bashed by men who say it's because they eat too much or whatever. It's cruel from either gender. I'm glad some men are talking about how medical issues affect weight instead of encouraging their peers to be judgmental.

It's a man who trashed that kid and said "man up." Not a woman. Yet somehow this becomes a springboard to bash women? Men respond this way quite a bit, telling other men that toughness is all that matters. And which gender is constantly bashed for its weight or looks, unnecessarily? For every man who is bashed for his looks, can you really say that women aren't derided 100x over? Can you honestly say that men feel comfortable talking about getting counseling or feeling rejected? Yes of COURSE yo…
