Its not really about porn. OF success is because there are a lot of lonely guys who have been cast to the outskirts of society. OF provides a connection (a fake one) that normal porn doesn't. It's just like the stories of call girls who have had guys pay just to cuddle.

The reason its not simple is that not everyone agrees with your opinion. Don't be childish, it is a complex issue (regardless of how simple you think it SHOULD be).

Do you understand traditional gender roles? Men were expected to work and women were expected to stay home and have kids. Society was build around this expectation. Men couldn't stay at home and raise kids and women couldn't work. Do you disagree with any of this?

I agree that women haven't always had autonomy and still don't in many ways. Disagree about the human thing. I will also add men also haven't had autonomy, justbin different ways. Men had no choice but to go to war when called (still true in the US), weren't allowed to stay home and look after kids, weren't allowed to marry and move all their legal and financial responsibility to women that way it was done in reverse. Both men and women have been oppressed throughout history and in many ways peo…

I mean this subreddit is really good about not over censoring and I think removing outright hateful comments is not the end of the world. As long as the mods don't remove contrary opinions I see no problem. I get people are wary of censorship and I'm with you trust me but I don't think this thread is remotely comparable to the other subreddits out there. I see a handful of presumably hateful comments that have been removed. Go over to r/feminism and over 60% of the comments are removed. I also t…

Yes, and I think thats what a lot of MRAs are talking about. People, women and men, have become so radicalized against men where tiktoks like that can gain support when they are bascially openly discriminating against men. Specifically with tiktok I have seen a lot of stuff like that and its sickening.

I know you didn't. Infact most feminists don't say that either. But they speak about the issue of violence as if a huge portion of the male population are criminals, when in fact the vast majority of men aren't violent. And it does shift the goal posts in the context I provided: The context being: femisists say that we need to talk about 'violence against women', MRAs point out that men are more likely to be victims and therefore its disingenuous to talk about "violence against women" instead of…
/r/MensRights17/03/21 10:02 PM

Yes, the majority of people who commit violent crime are men. But it does not then follow that the majority of men commit violent crime. It is a small fraction of the population that commit violent crime. The reason MRAs point out that men are more likely to be victims of violent crime, is because of the lies feminists tell about violence againt women. Both men and women are victims of violent crime. To point out that most perpetrators are men is to shift the goal posts within this context.

Agree with what you said for the most part, except for the part where you basically called lesbians man haters, somehow missing the irony in your comment.

So you are agreeing that men are more likely to be murdered, and then saying that men don't have to go around worrying about it... yes, I think the point is over your head. Yes, most crime is committed by men, but most men don't commit crime. To conflate the two up is to commit a logical fallacy. Most people, aren't criminals. Most men and most women don't commit violent crime. Thats why people complain about the "teach men..." talking points. I know that violent crime is wrong, to suggest that …

I'm sorry but you are just completely ignorant on this subject. Not trying to be rude, just blunt. The amount of guys who have serious trauma and feel so broken because of the sexual abuse they've experienced is overwhelming. What makes it worse is that no one takes it seriously. Male victims are ignored, shouted down, told that what they experienced is less severe than what a women experiences in the same situation, told they probably liked it. I understand you probably haven't experienced rape…
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/12/20 06:47 AM

Its rape because they are minors. There are plenty of guys with stories of how they had sex with adults when they were young and were fine with it at the time but then had seriously mental health problems later in life. It can be extremely traumatic even if they don't realize it at the time. I agree with your point that something isn't immoral just because its illegal. My point is that having sex with a minor, generally is immoral and the laws that exist to stop it are justified. The reason its …

Yes, the OP just addressed bi erasure like it only happens to men and I added a comment pointing out that it happens to both men and women. Then everyone went off talking about how men have it worse which is not what I was talking about.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/12/20 12:39 AM

Nothing you just said changes the fact that bi erasure happens to men and women, regardless of if I agree with it or not. Who you are referring to here is often the reaction bi men receive from people who are straight. Which is a fair thing to talk about. But bi erasure comes from within the gay community more than anything it it happens to men and women. My partner and I are both bi and we've both experienced it plenty.

I don't know why so many people on this subreddit care about where ideas come from. I care a lot more about the ideas themselves. You don't have to agree with everything Soral says to listen to him. I think he offers a very interesting view on feminisim and I'd love to read him. I don't care what others think, or if he also has bad ideas, that is irrelavent.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates13/10/20 10:35 PM
2

Its good to pull ideas and knowledge from a wide range of places. It always surprises how quickly people are turned off from potentially gaining more knowledge because like don't like everyone someone has to say. I have to say I am excited to look into this guys work just as I am excited when I get to read a new book from a feminist. Agreement is not a requirement for knowledge accquisition.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates13/10/20 10:29 PM

We should be unafraid to explore new ideas regardless of what others think. You are allowed to agree with people on some things and disagree on others. And enjoying someones work does not mean you agree with it at all.

This is just an uneducated, low-effort, self-pitying rant of a post. Both men and women have hardships, looking at the world like its agaisnt you is childish. For example, you say short women are looked at in a positive light, but on the flip side, tall women are often treated poorly. Almost all examples you give are just your perceptions of the world that are clearly tainted by your biases. Grow up. I'm not sure why you are coming here talking about how women arent taken seriously when they are raped, when its the one sub you cant get away with it. There isn't some conspiracy where women are ignored when they are raped. It is something that happens just as much to men if not more. I never once knew when my parents has sex, it stands to reason I most likely wouldn't know if they had sex with other people. I don't see how an open relationship necessarily fucks with kids. I'd suggest you really question your biases on this point, most people who are against open relationships are so because of their own I'll conceived notions, and then retroactively try to justify it.

Feminism has always been about advocating for women's rights. In that sense feminism is the same it has always been. But it has changed too. The way I see it: 1st wave feminism was 2 steps forward, 1 step back, 2nd wave was 1 step forward, 2 steps back, and 3rd wave if a blatant sprint in the wrong direction.

Okay you've helped me confirm with you is a waste of time. No that is not what religion means, no one uses the word that way. And I don't know where you got the idea that people want the laws to discriminate.

There are plenty of ways of measuring equality of opportunity. An example of one would be whether or not the laws treat certain groups of people differently. And can you give a definition of religion for me.

The reason it's both sexist and completely moronic, not to mention beneath us, is because it's being applied to half the world's fuckinf population. Grow some integrity and think before you speak. Some women complain, some men complain. Assigning that behaviour to all of one gender is just plain stupid

Not at all. His arguments are blatantly illogical, malformed, and often he uses exaggerations in a non-hyperbolic way. He can't string two coherent sentences together. And makes bald ass assertions. I'm sorry if you can't look at his comment and see the problems with them, you're poorer for it.

Exactly. And as much as we cringe to hear it because of how feminists blow is out of proportion, race, gender, etc can have an affect too. But I do think wealth is one of the biggest factors.
/r/MensRights22/01/20 06:35 PM

Disagree with the last one. Wealth is the most important but life is way more complex than that. I'm not a fan of absolute statements that leave no room for nuance.

No, because we don't know the details. It's not a gender thing. I agree with OPs point but the example given in the post is garbage and we shouldn't prop up bad arguments in this sub if we want to make any difference.

I'm anti-triaism for one. I value individuals and I dont define people by group they belong to. So toxic masculinity or toxic feminity are just terms used to divide people into groups and not treat them as individuals. I'm not going to abandon my principles at the first sign of trouble and I have no respect for people that do.
/r/MensRights31/12/19 09:22 AM
10

So we should just abandon principles for the sake of a 'victory'? I don't know what kind of victory it will be if we have to abandon what we were fighting for in the first place. Seems you are about as tribalistic as they get
/r/MensRights31/12/19 12:25 AM

Yes exactly. I dont want people to feel divided by arbitrary traits. As Christopher Hitchens liked to say, we are all brothers and sisters of the same mammalian specie.

That may be so, I'll look into that. But I don't see how this wiki article does anything for your point. And the point that Japan does under report crime doesn't refute mine.
/r/MensRights16/12/19 06:17 PM

Well I dont take on issues under the guise of mens rights. I take them on based on what I think is right and wrong. I think this is wrong for the reasons I gave above and I dont think you've refuted them yet.
/r/MensRights16/12/19 04:40 PM

Japan actually has very low crime and safe streets. There is a phenomenon of sexual assault that occurs on the tube in japan and its seen as much bigger issues because it's so uncommon there. But that doesn't mean there should be women only subway cars because men still experience sexual assault and this measure excludes them and also excludes the female perpetrators from consideration
/r/MensRights16/12/19 04:27 PM

No we are talking about a buzz word that labels certain actions group take as toxic and slaps on the label for that group. You should make sure you can read before you try to condescend. My point was that each person is affected differently by their environment, people aren't monolithic. We discovered this 200 years ago with the enlightenment, which was the birth of the individual, and built whole societies based on that idea.
/r/MensRights08/12/19 01:56 AM

The problem I have with it I guess is the idea that any part of masculinity is toxic. If a man is violent it's not because he's a man anymore than a women is violent because shes a women. So why refer to a shitty behaviour in a gendered light? What a contemptible thing to do
/r/MensRights07/12/19 01:47 PM

I have had feminist profs in the past and I can tell you from experience that trying to soften the blow won't work really. Feminists generally dislike any talk of men having issues because their fundamental values don't allow for it. So it is probably better to firm about your point and stand strong behind them. To the second criticism I shall expand a bit. Mostly, I refer to your prose and overall ability to turn a phrase. Put simply, you sound like a high school or college student. This isn't …

If I had given honest criticism which I will, I would give two main criticisms. The first is the quality of writing itself. The second, and more important criticism, is that I think you give too much ground to the feminists. Its almost like you feel agreeing that women have disadvantages will lessen the negative response. I'd advise you to just stick to your guns and try not to pander so much. Have conviction when you speak and write in life.

Yeah but how do you get all that money for an ideology that most don’t like or don’t care for. I think it’s the guilty tactics they use. Like ‘if you want equality you are a feminist’ and ‘if you don’t call yourself a feminist or support our ideas you are a sexist’

You are being very inarticulate about your position. Consenting to sex is not the same as consenting to pregnancy because they are not the same action and ive just demonstrating why that’s the case. The confusing thing is you are acknowledging that but still coming to the conclusion that they are the same. It’s not a hard thing to recognize. Consenting to an action that’s comes with a risk doesn’t mean consenting to the action that there is a risk of. I drive a car, I’m not consenting to being r…

You just wrote a really long comment to just ignore my point all together. Consenting to sex and consenting to pregnancy are not one in the same but before you said exactly that. Now you are back stepping. So could clarify for me? Do you believe they are the same or not? Because before you said they were and now you aren’t saying that.

How about instead of talking about what is supposedly implied you could just address my actually points.

I’d argue the system is wrong here and there are people trying to change it

No sex and pregnancy are not the same thing. You can consent to sex and not get pregnant and you can get pregnant without consenting to sex. They are not the same thing. So consenting to sex is not consenting to pregnancy

But consenting to sex not the same to consenting to pregnancy.

You are being illogical because you claimed consenting to sex was consenting to pregnancy which is absurd. Now you are back stepping

Your final statement that sums up the difference between our positions demonstrates your illogical thinking. You’re saying that consenting to sex is consenting to pregnancy. I’m assuming you hold this position because there is a chance to get pregnant. But that doesn’t cohere. A police officer isn’t consenting to being killed when signing up.

No you’re misframing this. It’s not murder. If I am dying and my only way to survive is to hook myself up to another human as life support. Am I allowed to do that without your consent? If I do it without your consent and you stop me are you murdering me? No that would be absurd. You not giving me your body is not you ignoring my right to bodily autonomy, it’s just exercising your right. And furthermore, why does a fetus get the right to bodily autonomy? They get no other rights. They don’t have…

So you do you not value bodily autonomy as a right then?
/r/MensRights20/06/19 06:49 PM

Yes but if the fetus requires the mothers body (which it does until its viable outside the womb), then mother can choose to not consent to having that baby use her body.
/r/MensRights20/06/19 06:47 PM

You missed my whole point. The argument for abortion is that the mother is giving her body to the baby to survive, which requires consent if you believe in bodily autonomy. But once the baby can survive outside the mother, then we can remove the baby rather than kill it if the mother doesn't want it anymore.

I have a bone to pick with the abortion section of this post. The “bodily autonomy” argument is a good argument and the points you bring against it are pathetic. The fact that people are inconsistent in their beliefs and think drugs should be banned but abortion legal is not a refutation of the argument. The point is that someone should have a right to decide what happens to their own body and there should be minimal restrictions to this right. That means abortion should be legal, and so should …

This is a bit of the email I sent him: CDC survey from 2011 data: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss6308a1.htm This survey found that, “nationally, an estimated 1.6% of women (or approximately 1.9 million women) were raped in the 12 months before taking the survey,” while, “the case count for men reporting rape in the preceding 12 months was too small to produce a statistically reliable prevalence estimate.” However, “an estimated 1.7% of men were made to penetrate a perpetrator in the…

Well the lecture was actually open, he lied when he said it wasn't. I even sent him the email from him saying it was open.

Yeah I emailed him back and criticized him for committing these logical fallacies and essentially said I was disgusted with him for doing what he would call "victim blaming" in his own class. Not to mention all the evidence I sent him that he conveniently ignored. I just posted his email here to get some actual discussion with people not the bullshit he's doing.

I told this professor that men and women are raped at the same rate but that studies don't include "made to penetrate" in their definition of rape. I sent him studies and he ignored them and wrote this instead.

I agree that this is immoral but it’s implied in the title of the post that this is somehow representative of mothers in general. Let’s not fall into the game feminist do where we treat women like a monolith.

Idk if there is a name for it but there’s been studies done that shows a correlation between homophobia and homosexual arousal . There’s also a website called gayhomophobe which keeps track of all of them that are revealed gay.

Doesn't matter if they came to have a discussion. You can take the first step and ask why they believe what they do. My point was that downvoting him/her makes us as bad as those we criticize. And that's what the edit to the comment was saying.

Thank you. I'm glad someone said it. We need to be better if we are gonna fight for equality. Don't silence people you disagree with. Talk to them.

I agree it has nothing to do with men's rights. But I also don't think the monument is racist. Celebrating someone who did some great things does not mean you support the bad things they did. Gandhi apparently said he beat his wife in his autobiography, but people still hold his up as a great man for the good things he did.
/r/MensRights24/03/19 03:43 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
