That’s not what I’m saying. My point was if your partner seems awkward or uncomfortable, check in with them and make sure they’re still okay. I never said you had to check in at every step of the way regardless of their behavior. Obviously if someone starts going down on you then it’s not an issue for them, I was just explaining what I’ve heard from a lot of my friends when they were in situations where they felt uncomfortable and their partner or the person they were having sex with was unaware…

Thanks for that, wasn’t aware they were using national data for their state wide study. It’s hard to find comprehensive research because the gender neutral definition was only changed in the last half decade or so. Hopefully more studies with the modern definition start to come out soon, because it’s difficult to get the full picture without it. Honestly, I think this sub would make a lot more progress if they stopped viewing feminists as the sole enemy and opposition to the movement. A lot of t…

Okay, but the chances of that happening would be even higher if you didn’t ask. You shouldn’t let the worst case scenario prevent you from checking in with your partner. Would asking “do you like this/that?” really kill the mood? Because that’s never happened to me.

Is asking “is this okay” or “do you want to do this” too much? Seems pretty clear to me.

Definition Offense defined. --A person commits a felony of the first degree when the person engages in sexual intercourse with a complainant: (1) By forcible compulsion. (2) By threat of forcible compulsion that would prevent resistance by a person of reasonable resolution. Stats In victims between the ages of six and 12, six percent of the perpetrators were female, while 92 percent were male. In victims between 12 and 17, three percent of the perpetrators were female, while 97 percent were male…

How is making sure your partner is comfortable with having sex with you “murky” or “grey”. You can just ask “are you okay with this” or “do you like this” and you have your answer. If they are the one initiating sex then they’re obviously comfortable with doing so. This shit sounds less like a men’s rights sub and more like an anti-feminist circlejerk.

Not always, there are many cases where people weren’t aware that they were raping someone because they didn’t give explicit consent, and I’d bet they’re far more common than the kind of rapists your talking about . A lot of people freeze up and can’t speak when they’re in an intense situation like that and they will take that silence as consent, which is why it’s critical that you always make sure the person your going to be having sex with is comfortable with doing so.

In my state (Pennsylvania) which uses the forced to have sexual intercourse definition, the percentage is still 92% men and 8% women.

That’s not the definition in my state, but it is in many other places. Where I’m from it’s just defined as a person engaging in sexual intercourse with someone who is not consenting, either through force or coercion.

What? Demonizing the men who get it done? I’ve never claimed to be against circumcision in its entirety, I’m against circumcising children without their consent. If you’re an informed adult have at it. And I’m American btw where circumcision is done on pretty much every male child for no logical reason whatsoever. I don’t care what your religious beliefs are, your rights to religious freedom end at the start of someone else’s body.

And that’s your defense for irreversibly mutilating the genitals of an unconsenting child?

Wonder why that is…

You can teach someone something without being patronizing. It’s the assumption that the woman is clueless that is offensive. As a man, I’ve definitely seen other, usually older, men act in such a way towards younger women. It may seem to them like a kind gesture, but to the women it usually just comes off as patronizing since most women are usually taught the same things as men these days.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
