addendum: if you are still too "shy" look directly over their eyes, eyebrows work too and from a couple feet away doesnt skew the gaze. i started doing this at 13 because i couldnt look girls i liked in the eye. it helped me grow up a lot

Prime in their 20s? Maybe more pretentious about sex but hardly a prime in any way. 28+ is where I've found things to get good.

I'm sure OP didn't over exaggerate any of the things he said, being the victim and all. /s

First, the bar staff knows you, they know what you're doing and they're probably talking about you, making fun of you or tired of you. Do you even spend a decent amount of money? Any club I bartended at we'd be sick of a soda sipper by the end of the night regardless if you were tipping on refills. It's obvious you're a predator and if you are a soda sipper like half the kids in here you have no value to the bar. The staff gets paid to pretend they like you. Ever go out with any of them On their…

Manager wouldn't say that, it would make OP less likely to return and spend money...assuming OP isn't just sipping soda and hitting on girls. That, as a bartender, would be enough for me to suggest an attitude change in OP. if you're taking up space, not spending money and bothering my guests I'd have words with you about it.

Pretty text book, came off as arrogant instead of in control in my opinion.

Yeah, I wouldn't have any problems disregarding him in a social setting and stepping all over his "turf" looks like every other attention whore emo d-bag I've pulled women off of before. Marketing and money, socialite with no real reason to have any fame.

Understood, living out of hotel rooms presents you with great opportunities though especially as a newly single man with an eye on pickup. I'm glad it's working well for you! I know a lot of folks who despise their travelling jobs because they are locked into their committed monogamous relationships. A mountain house in CO is worth holding on to for sure, I'm in MT and pickings are slim here for a low thirties man where most of the age appropriate women are married. I have no shortage of lady fr…

nice read, but I have a feeling your income level makes things a LOT easier to be so available and fruitful. Vacation house? most of us are still slogging it through school or entry level jobs

I moved home for a year in the same boat.. at 28.. built my own autonomous unit out of our tool shed and still got laid :) It's hardly about the environment if she's into you

I'm going out alone tonight...grading papers at a bar but still planning on making some moves if the moment arises. Make an effort to get to know the bartender, tell him/her that you don't go out often and ask for tips and sometimes there are others in your same situation...at a bar, alone, looking for fun. I always tried to connect people in your boat when I could. I'd hit the bar early though so you can actually have a conversation with the tender before they get to busy.

pfft.. you're doing it wrong. Single and lonely don't go to bars on fri/sat night, they go to grocery stores. Up your game and start hitting up the vegetable section on the weekend, women in sweat pants and no hope for a good time.. just ask their opinion on avocados or something and you're set.

I've been on a roll lately, just stopped caring about results. Picked up another number while out walking the dog 15min later. Was a good day, gonna be a great week.

I did this today with two starbucks barista's. I observed the conversations they were having while I waited in line. Other folks in front of me were being rude or ignoring the barista's efforts at being polite. My turn; "Funny how folks are either willfully ignorant of you asking them how their day is, either they're ignoring you or scared by your friendliness" She - "Yeah, they're usually pretty nice and reply but some are too busy with their phones or whatever to acknowledge that you asked" Up…

sparkling water bottles might be classy enough to get away with, pellegrino or evian bottles are still symbolic. Left hand for drinking, right hand always ready for hand shaking.
