1	Marriage rates declining is a good thing There's no experimental way to measure cause in a topic like this. However, a decline in marriage rates tends to correspond with less relationships in general (which is actually what's happening) and a lot of people don't want to have kids without marriage (which is a cultural view that persists today), so going off that, it is fair to conclude that birth rates are a concern as a result of this.	/r/PurplePillDebate	18/05/26 07:40 PM

A 90 year old isn't the best candidate to be a neurosurgeon, considering they probably need one. Every job needs people who are relatively young, since old people do need to retire at some point. However, if the proportion of old people is much greater than other age groups, that's a problem because there are going to be labor shortages. A population that's mostly old can be detrimental, as seen in Japan or South Korea.
