Very long story short... She was bipolar. And not just saying that, actual mental Illness and safety concern to our children. I was too proud and too tenacious to quit for waaaay too long. Paid the price. It messed me up for a while but I got back on track and now my current girlfriend is amazing in how I'm treated (in which I didn't know better in my younger years) it's very true that my success with women multiplied as I aged past 30. I would say in small part to the physical changes I went th…

Ehh probably depends on your personality, was married for 11 years myself and was only with that 1 until I was 33. Never really cared or was curious about other in that regard. Got divorced and then made a little run thinking women are just holes for sex (don't do that) and experienced 8 woman in 7-8 months. In my case the casual stuff didn't do it for me and was more trouble than it was worth. Now in a newer relationship for the last 5 or so months and it's so much better in my opinion. In my o…

Aside from all the legal red tape etc. If you're unsafe my man get the hell out of there. I lived with diagnosed bipolar wife as well, several attempts, absolute mayhem in front of the children, she could turn violent and it got to a point that the stress nearly killed me. I can only speak for my self but i could t imagine going back to that life and shell of a man I was. Leaving gave me a fresh start. As far as custody (pretty much all the marbles) I got sole custody initially and now has phase…

I did for 2 years now phasing back towards 5050 as I promised I would (doing what's best for kids) Tried to kill herself a couple times. Hospitalized about 8 times the last year of marriage. (Refused treatment and medicine... Believe me she's not a victim here) I caught 2 affairs over the years (should have absolutely left after the first btw, lesson learned) Substance abuse Picked up a felony during separation/divorce did some time. Made all kinds of threats and lost it and started punching me …

OP this is correct. You can work on being cordial after the dust settles. Not saying you're out to screw her over but absolutely don't bend early, wait until an attorney starts drumming the war drum in her ear and tells her what she "deserves".

You said "during the day" implying she stays at home/earns less. I do know in my state affairs can affect alimony/spousal support or atleast in my case it was threatened by my attorney. If she's legally separated she can still have an avenue for spousal support pending the length marriage. I'm pretty sure legal separation is like divorce lite so spouses can host their bang a thon both guilt free and more importantly not risk themselves a part of their divorce prizes. You know she has to heal and…

That's what I figured, couple weeks ago finally broke the humping ice and everything was working except the finale as well. Definitely weirded me out too. Im hoping I can get back to my old quick pump days soon, it's exhausting and it seemed to hurt her feelings I couldn't get it done. (On the flip side she got it done several times so that was cool)

I tried to stick it out for the kids, marriage was good for first coue years, infidelity... Forgave it for the kids, couple years later mental health breakdowns, substance abuse and emotional and physical abuse. The last year or so of marriage was an absolute nightmare. Too much to list but several suicide attempts, breaking all our stuff, mega controlling and disrespectful etc. Looking back there is no way I could live through it again... It's like pouring gas on yourself and handing the match to your wife... Would you do that? Trust her not to let her emotions, hypocritical as they are, run her rage into overdrive and ram it up your a## financially during the divorce. There will always be hot chicks on the other side of divorce wanting to dig into your money, let your wifes new dude get her all hormones up so she signs off on a favorable deal leaving you in the past. After the ink is dried... Go balls deep.

If I didn't have kids of my own, no financial problems.... Yeah I still would t get married again. Best I can stomach for me right now cool girlfriend that has her own house and place, we meet up when we need to hang for some events stay over sometimes, sure. I couldn't do married and the full ride again, in my opinion having children and being legally married changes people. Not for the best all the time.

Took an 11 year hiatus from lifting post college. decided divorce would be a reset on everything I needed to attend to in my life. Terrific decision to get my health back in focus, I'm not back to the good old days strength... But hell I'm not far from it. My major lifts when up around 100 pounds or so in about 6 months, 35 lbs down. Keep leveling up bro.

I'm in my mid 30s now so I definitely reflect on it differently than I did in my early twenties. I can lay the wood just fine, it's not rocket surgery... But I don't think the high count is a good look for either men or women, I feel men think of it much more in the negative. I just don't ask questions I don't want the answer to. If you live in a big city probably is inconsequential, in my small town I don't want to talk to the barber, mechanic, old Rick at the end of the bar etc and unspokenly …

A good read. The big transition is putting yourself first for once. I know I was scared shitless of putting myself out there. I actually went a little too far in the asshole direction for a bit. I think finally having control and direction in my life was sort of intoxicating. Having said that it was good framing for reference.

Mid 30s divorced guy here, you've got this one right, it may not net you more sex immediately but women should add to your life, not become it. I promise being single is better than pedestal ing women into sleeping with you. Validation is cocaine to the emotional. Wish I believed this in my early twenties...

Yeah I think I'm on that camp as well. She's diagnosed as bipolar 2 but never seemed to fit for me, her psychologist said she isn't BPD but also her actions are hidden and tracks covered as I was only spoke to once about her behavior at the end of our marriage. I know better than to self diagnose but years of inefficient treatment, tons of BPD benchmarks hit, a life full of crazy shit... Whatever it was I'm glad I'm away from it. Hopefully saved the kids in time. BPD people make more BPD people.…

Easy peasy, go to college, obtain bachelor's degree, opt for post graduate classes, become a master in your chosen field, a true voice of reason on the subject matter. Apply to colleges as a professor and then bam like 8 years later... Your all set. You get older... They stay the same age...

700 is a ton for me, I was being sarcastic. Keep paying but document and spring when the time is right. It sounds like her attention has drifted and this is in your favor. Plan and execute, allow her to go out and live the hoe phase or whatever she thought she missed out on as much as she wants, don't even act like it bothers you at all. Then once you get sufficient time in it's time to execute the plan.

You're getting both answers here for both situations, on one side is the mother not letting go of baby boy and retaining her priority in baby boys life. Women love this control you can hear it in the "always back your wife crowd". The other crowd has endured the crazy wife in search of control and your mother being reasonable does t take shit from the crazy wife. The wife in this scenario loves to see you cave to her demands and hurt your mother, it validates her position in your life. You know …

Sounds like fitness is taking care of but new avenues of fitness are always a top rec. I myself love fly fishing and tying flies, guns, playing guitars, photography, building stuff for the kids or home improvements or things to sell, hiking and camping ( fits well with the fishing) there's billions of ways to waste your time, so waste time and money effectively. Stay away from another woman being your hobby.

Good man. I know those conversations aren't easy but they are great instances to lean into your manhood. I found alot of folks with no skin in the game who "we had a rough patch too".. iv had rough patches myself, I've also wrestled knives from hands.. the latter is more than a rough patch. Stand firm, if you done all you can, you can be at peace. Peace is expensive, but worth it.

I get it. You can't believe another will be around but there is plenty of others around. If she felt like you were so awesome she'd be right back at you. It doesn't feel good to think like this. Your emotion is real, though it is not reliable.

The first of many. I'm literally twice your age and no I still don't enjoy rejection no one does. But rejection doesnt make you lesser in any way. People have preferences and if you aren't it don't sweat it. Keep searching yours out and you'll find a taker. Don't compromise, get what you want, and don't fall in the one trap, there's thousands of girls and even though you don't know it yet that number 987 is gonna make you forget all about this one... Seriously.

I went to church very similar, was the initiator and had these visits and talks as well. My circumstances aren't the usual as I was the initiator of divorce and my best guess way further along the grief stages by that point. A few months in she let me know she banged some dude... I honestly didn't care, felt like any other stranger woman telling me she got pumped and dumped. I was weary that it would hurt me but it just didn't. Too me it was a big hurdle I crossed. Just wanna say haven't touched a weight since college football days and got back into lifting in November. If it's something you have done before you may be surprised at the muscle memory you still have. I thought it would take years to get back to premarried numbers but seriously 3 months in and all I can say is it's insane how much my body has been changing. It may not be as far off as you think.

Dude you sound like a candidate for fly tying. Probably helps to like fishing etc but some people tie and never fish. I got to it to make more flies and not hang 5 dollar hair poppers in trees but have found I like creating stuff on the vise about as much as I do slamming bass on the river. Also I wonder hobby lobby in search of materials like foam, fabric, chenilles, feathers of all sort etc. Not the only thing I do but a shot ton of fun once you enter the rabbit hole.

Probably not a whole lot legally but there is a metric shit ton of money your ex wife can start wasting in legal fees when she catches wind of this. Motion after motion, rescheduling mediations etc. All in the name of spite. Some people emotionally lose rational financial sense. Don't buy your attorney a new car with your dick.

Yeah I kind of swung that way for a couple months but have pulled out. Some people suck, some women are garbage just like some men, BUT I really don't put them on a pedestal anymore. Trusting another woman I haven't done and not sure how long that would take but no one will get the reigns in my life but me. My plow days are behind me. I've cut so much bullshit from my life it's become addictive.

Providing very little contact and not providing any emotional fuel to them. Let them accuse, argue, belittle you and your responses is silence or boring like talking to a rock. They find no value in conversing with the dull rock and internalize there is emotional gain or control over the rock, then they turn attention elsewhere to more worthy goes to manipulate and control. Your free.

Great advice, I went this route, hard to break habit and feel like a ruthless asshole and I caved on a few things I now regret. Just remember there's no honor amongst thieves and I promise you she'll turn into a thief by way of family court. Don't believe her words watch her actions.

Yeah but peace is worth so much more than you think it is right now. You don't get it for awhile but invest well in yourself and you would dump any and all money to find the peace that you will reach when investment and grief subside.

I'm not in the financial situation you are in clearly, it's probably why I feel like I do. fight the house fight and pull the trigger. House are piles of concrete, boards and plastic in my book. Imagine total freedom for a moment... It's what the women don't want you to feel brother. I'd live under bridge before going back to that sort of crazy. If she's that sort of crazy you would know it's the best move for you, only you know this.

Not that I have to convince many but found 90s country songs again steer clear if you don't want it to slam you. Didn't understand why people always professed country was sad and about your wife leaving, now I got it. Damn you country music of my youth, didn't know you come back to wreck my shit in my 30s... Just to see you smile - Tim McGraw...

This is probably correct. She was making plans look and eyeing up her shot before he knew about it. Time with friends... Learning the ropes from other single moms etc .. getting ducks in a row and saw spousal support about to go nil so had to up her timeline. Might have been monkey branching in the meantime as well. Grabbing all resources on her way out. Maybe just a coincidence and all....

A year in.. separated before and then decided to go for marriage... I always tend to push for counseling etc and I think that's has to be bare minimum. I'm guessi g you rushed into marriage might be best to take this one on the nose, learn and regroup before time and future entanglement s get you locked. Not always the case but were you sort of persuaded into marriage... Meaning do you think it's possible she thought " once I marry him I can mold him to be what I need". Was there some "we'll do …

I'm on that train currently as well. Not going to post too much up because it's early but good luck and i hopefully can unload the details later. I just wanted to say though how it may present in your life is different, I probably know alot of the same struggles and "how can adult be this angry over something so insignificant?". BPD is no joke and most, unless you you live with it for a few years, don't get it. An absolute black hole of joy. I had the same feelings.. so much weight lifted that I…

I hear you on this and I'm not totally sure if all the details but I'm gonna say refrain. I knowvi have so much I could tell my kids about and seriously much of it is hard evidence and recordings and text etc. But what actual good is it going to do them? It's still a struggle for me because I want vindication of all the stuff that I know their mom is saying "This is your dad's fault" "I can't see you because your dad's not going to let me" "Your dad hates me and is trying to punish me" All thing…

Follow this advice and the longer post up top. It's tough to break the caretaker provider role. Im divorce g a BPD right now and it's the worst. Get out and lawyer up right away. Find o e that can handle high conflict divorce and knows BPD, dude it was very hard for me to be tough on my ex wife... Also with BPD you should begin the grey rock program once things get rolling. Lots of descriptions of it but it starves a narcissist ic personality of the conflict they crave by only giving boring non …

Yeah man, stayed for the kids only long enough for them to get old enough and become targets themselves. I may have been a doormat for years but seeing your son's terrified of your wife... Flipped a switch and straight to file I went. I'll just say before letting out too many details while the process is still going.... The kids live with me.... Do t make the inevitable a hell like I did. DONT GET HER PREGNANT. GREY ROCK her and get out. It won't get better, your love won't change her. Best time…

Amen, I'm way at the beginning and I'm all set. Not worth the risk anymore. After the snip and not at my house maybe way down the road. No more cohabitation for this amigo.
