Those college degree stats were meant to illustrate that today's women (women who are "away from the influence of men") are participating in the intellectual/academic community. My original comment is a rebuttal to Wallace's claims, and it seems that some of your claims are different from Wallace's (which isn't a bad thing; it just affects where this argument goes). The USA isn't the entire world, mate The claim in Bob Wallace's quote seems to be that women make worse choices now that they are "away from the influence of men". As I explained, I chose the most recent statistics to make sure that my timeframe was one where women were surely away from this influence. 0	State of the Womens World Sure, I agree that single life is preferable to matrimony with manipulative gold-digger that hates you. I just don't think that all women fit that description. My counter-argument is that even if we assume that all the things listed in the quote are necessarily bad and that discrimination is a non-factor, almost everything Wallace claims is untrue.
