How is this PPD? Pretty sure there's more men in prison for domestic abuse than women.

Just because she didn't get the bare minimum sentence doesn't mean she got a pass.

135 month sentence for conning investors out of $121 million. Not PPD in my estimation but I guess we'll have to wait and see next month what sentence the guy gets and there'll be medical suits from harmed patients from the fake blood tests.

And judging from what she probably looks like without the filters, a pro athlete that's younger than she is.

It is. She will have been charged and convicted with "perverting the course of justice". Typically the sentence is 4 months - 4 years +/- a fine but techincally she could've been given life inprisonment but I believe that's reserved for attempting to help someone get away with murder. So 5 years for false rape accusation is likely the result of a few other charges being added on.

True but there are some people who will die in prison/never get released. Ideally the whole point of the penal system is offender rehabilitation. The fact that there are people in their later years who have been convicted of things like historical sexual offences (the old boy's school headmaster types) who are getting taxpayer funded lifestyles (free food and board) and a lot of professional medical care whilst there are people who are having to sell their houses to pay for carehome fees or havi…

In this day and age of science and technology and independent oversight, it boggles the mind that a person can be arrested without evidence. Just because it's legal doesn't make it right.

Sentences for rape in the UK typically start at 4 years and go as high as 19 years. This innocent and vulnerable man was arrested (not brought in for questioning) based upon a false accusation and had his life ruined for months in addition to losing access to his son in the interim. She got off lightly.

The women players in the US were offered the same contract as the men but they turned it down in favour of more stable conditions. The men get paid based on performance so they don't get paid if they lose or if they can't play due to injury but that also means their bonuses are high when they win whereas the women wanted a higher base pay plus sick leave etc but their bonuses are lower as a result. The women are crying foul because they point out that the men get a higher bonus for winning games…
/r/PussyPassDenied19/04/22 03:52 PM

Because there is an ongoing issue regarding pay for the women's teams in relation to the men - they argue that the female players should get paid at least as much as the men (they're actually demanding better pay) and that they should be treated as equals. Same goes for tennis.

She knew what she was getting herself into and the crimes she commited over there are proof of that - she can't play the naive, innocent youth led astray card. She and her friends renounced their citizenship deliberately to prove how commited they were and that they knew there was no going back. It's plain to see from the pictures they posted online on their way out show they went out the door gleefully and with no regrets - they got exactly what they wanted/deserved. Of course, it is feasable t…

I'm hoping they meant that they'd help a woman stranded in a carpark vs a man stranded in a carpark even if the man is a little bit closer/faster to get to.

Yeah. At best she's been caught lying but is still $1.3million richer I'll wager.

Theft by deception of $1.3million, filing a false report and defamation. All that and she's still free whilst people are still being arrested/incarcerated for petty things like having a bit of weed. The frustrating thing is that people generally agree with most laws they're bound by - they just detest the asymmetrical way in which they're enforced. Still, neither party is entirely innocent here. He stupidly thought he could buy the affections of a young and (physically) attractive woman and she …

I saw a video not too long ago about this and I cannot for the life of me remember the title or find it. So the set up; it's a black couple (American) in their house and they've both got boxing gloves on. She's challenged him to a match to prove a point (i.e. that he's afraid of her). She's probably about 5'4" and slimly built, he looks about 6'2" and he's heavy set so he's easily got 100-150lbs on her. She's laughing at him because he's not hitting her back so she goes "OK prove you're not scar…

I'm glad things worked out for you in the end but it seems that a lot of managerial stuff is more about politics than competence. What certain people don't seem to realise is that if you want to diversify then that by definition means you cannot have equality. Hiring someone to fit a demographic but then rejecting an application from someone who doesn't fit a given demographic is counterproductive to fairness. There's been an article published recently that says the most disadvantaged group are …

"Now the pair, who were behind some hugely successful TV adverts, have successfully sued Wunderman Thompson for sex discrimination." They may well make up awards but it seems these two have a fair bit of national recognition in the UK advertising world.
/r/PussyPassDenied23/07/21 08:22 PM

Sadly I doubt it. It seems that once you get high enough up into the chain, you can only fail upwards. She'll probably blame the company somehow and get a similar job elsewhere but I don't think the ad company would like how it looks if they were to fire the person they brought in to "fix a misogynistic wage gap".
/r/PussyPassDenied23/07/21 07:11 PM
39

Unfortunately, most other cases aren't like this one. Most organisations are smart enough to do everything legally. This ad company made the mistake of hiring an individual to amend their staffing levels who got drunk on the power they gave her. She probably thought she was untouchable - she had the nerve to fire them virtually immediately and without warning. As the article says; she'd probably made her mind up to fire certain people ASAP regardless of who they were as people or employees. Lite…

UK laws have to take into account the charges upheld, the length of time they were employed by the company, current salary, contractual benefits/perks, etc. There's also the matter of legal fees paid by the, ahem, loser and also extra financial incentives to close the matter permanently - the ones who settled out of court probably accepted a hundred grand or so. However, the rule of thumb is that compensation generally amounts to 6-12 months of salary as "severance" but they were ad execs who'd …

It's literally spelled out for you in the article: "Even though Depp eventually lost his libel case, the details piqued the interest of the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment after an ex-employee of Depp’s claimed in court he was forced to lie under oath about her dogs’ illegal entry into Queensland. According to Depp’s former estate manager, Kevin Murphy, Heard instructed him to lie to authorities after she knowingly smuggled her dogs into Australia." Perhaps you sh…

Johnny Depp committed perjury. She's under investigation for illegally smuggling in her dogs into Australia. The Australian government should be looking at both of them but everybody hates Amber Heard at the moment so the article focuses on her transgressions. EDIT: If I'm being downvoted for summarising what was actually written in the article instead of just hurling insults at the woman then you lot are truly pathetic.

I can understand holding the guy for questioning but it seems odd that they'd file charges without looking for evidence - surely tracking down stuff like security footage should be one of the first things the police do? Especially since it can be discovered by a simple phone call. Unless NCIS has been lying to me for years? I often wonder why people choose to go to university in the USA these days, unless they're rich of course. It's ridiculously expensive (from what I've heard/read people someh…

I often wonder how different the USA would be if local government were voted in so you'd have a democratic collaboration in the Senate, etc but the position of POTUS was a draft along the lines of being called up for jury duty. The best people to whom to give power are the type of people who don't really want it so feel the obligation to use it well. A popularity contest where you're basically allowed to lie was always going to attract people who are greedy and vain with with self-serving ambiti…

There was a program here in Britain focusing on how professional footballers lose their fitness in an extreme way after they retire (because they go from high activity to low activity, etc) so they took a bunch of retired footballers and tried to get them up to playing standards again. These were a bunch of men who'd been retired from professional level for at least 10-15 years so they were in their late 40s to 50s, lost their fitness (a few had kept a decent level of fitness) and because of the…

Yeah the "lesser of 2 evils" never ends well does it? Even at the 2016 election, it was either Trump or Clinton. Some people might describe that competition as a delusional, vain sycophant vs the matriarch of a global criminal empire so either way the American public were screwed.

The men should sue for discrimination and get the same contract as the women - the top players will still get decent sponsorship money and the lower quality players will get a more secure career. But the women don't want that to happen of course.
/r/PussyPassDenied11/04/21 06:26 PM

I watched the women's World Cup and I enjoyed some of the games but compared to the men's game; they're way out of their league. The US team dominates women's football (sorry but it's football NOT soccer ha ha!) but they'd get destroyed by a low level men's team, nevermind the national team.
/r/PussyPassDenied11/04/21 06:24 PM

But even then the women will cry discrimination because men have an unfair physical advantage. There's even a separate men's and women's leagues for darts which requires zero physicality beyond aiming and throwing a dart at a board less than 2m away. The funny thing is that the reason why male darts players were always so big was because they made their living playing around the country in pubs where they'd be expected to drink and socialise with the regulars. So even drunk, men are better at da…

Ah the old "feminism means equal rights" but what they're really after is preferential treatment. This debate has been going on for years in tennis where the women want the same prize money as the men even though the women only have to play a maximum of 3 sets whereas the men have to play up to 5, i.e. nearly twice as much, so if you actually break it down; the women get paid more per set than the men but they continue to whine as if they're being hard done by. The fix is easy. Just make everyon…

Oh sod off and go and polish your white armour, you simp. Women have not played major roles in wars throughout human history. Ask any man hating "feminist" and they'll tell you that wars are a men thing and they've gone to extreme lengths to keep women away from wars and the military in general. And generally, women don't like being referred to as "females" - you'd know that if you'd actually talked to one that wasn't a relative.

Fighter pilots have very strict fitness requirements because of the toll G-forces, etc takes on your body. And then there's the possibility of crashing/being shot down which means you'd have to survive whilst running/hiding from the enemy..... Have you seen the size of the shells that tanks fire?!

"I have no military experience" Yes, that much was obvious. "I have managed people in a kitchen, which includes people who can safely carry 30 plates across a slippery floor, people with fine knife skills, people who can do repetitive work consistently, etc. etc." So you're saying that women work well in a kitchen? You do realise that the military isn't the same as managing an office, right? Any military job is by basic definition a physical job. People in the military like the army are soldiers first and tradespeople second. They tell you up front about this and remind you of the fitness standards you're required to maintain and pass annual fitness testing. If you need to lower the standards to help women "to compete on the same level as men" then it's politically correct BS and is just one example of "eq…

Ask anyone that's gone through basic training with women (not all that serve see combat but everyone goes through basic training) and they'll tell you that the men in the squad/platoon had to quite literally carry the women through various exercises, e.g. obstacle courses. I have no problem with women in combat roles if they've earned their place, e.g. fighter pilot, but women in the military that have easier testing to pass but still need to be helped through basic training was always about app…
