You know what you never hear? A woman on PPD admitting that she straight up compromised her publicly stated morals and “boundaries” because some guy was “hawt” You do hear women saying this kind of thing in real life though. PPD isn't real life, it is not representative of how most people think or talk, and most people on here are neurodivergent to some degree. I think trusting the opinions voiced here as representative of anything about anything is silly. If you want to hear how normal people t…

From that woman's account, Aziz Ansari didn't just "make a simple mistake", he either missed or ignored several instances of her expressing aversion to sex. If he had tried with her once, and she had rejected it, and he said "okay" and stopped, it would have been an awkward mistake. But she said she rejected his advances several times, and he kept trying to initiate sex. According to her accounts, she said she wasn't ready to have sex when he tried it on with her, he said okay and suggested they…

Surely a woman needs to know and understand men to successfully manipulate them, no?

Women tend to see how you act towards women you don't respect, aren't attracted to, or view yourself as "above". They're not fooled by simping.

Not quite. Norah Vincent always struggled with mental health, even before she did this experiment. What is thought to have eventually driven her to opt for an assisted suicide was a mental breakdown tied to the stress of maintaining two identities. Not specifically the experiences she had as a male-presenting person. Her insights are very valuable and she is a trailblazer in analysing gendered experiences, so don't disrespect her memory by spreading false information about the circumstances of h…

Someone on here said something along the lines of "I support womens' rights but I don't support feminism" which was eye-opening for me. But it makes sense. Womens' rights are a what, and Feminism is a how. They aren't necessarily linked. Personally, I'm a pro-choice absolutist, I support destigmatisation of open conversation about womens' health, I support free access to contraception (for men and women) and period products, I support making mixed-gender education mandatory in publically funded …

Men are most interested in the best looking woman they can get. Yes, but the best looking woman an individual man can get is subjective, and is simply the woman who looks best to him. Her point on some universal scale is irrelevant. I would tend to agree that mens preferences in women are a bit more consistent across the board than womens in men. But my experience as a man has been that most men are attracted to things that would have a woman classed as "cute" in the media rather than "gorgeous"…

Honestly no idea either. And I say that as a man.

And literally no one thinks about mild chubbiness, facial shape, or BMI and its distance from average when they see someone they are attracted to. You're either attracted to someone or you're not. This is why rating people on a scale is really stupid and representative of nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 11:22 PM

Most men are, in my experience, more interested in "cute" women than "gorgeous" women anyway. At least if we're going by societal beauty standards. Most people don't consciously or subconsciously "rate" people on a scale. They're either attracted to someone or they're not. The average man and the average woman are both realistically not attracted to the average man and the average woman. You can acknowledge that someone is attractive and still not personally be attracted to them.

I don't think its so much about validation. Its just something men who are sexually attracted to men want to do for satisfaction, so they do it. From what I understand, in the casual MWHSM circles, sex really is not a big deal. Its just a thing that happens and theres no fuss about it or ideas of it being a "prize".

But I wouldn't raise my daughter to be shitty and pick shitty men Chances are you are never going to see your hypothetical 19 year-old daughter hypothetically choose to date a hypothetical 40 year-old man then.

If I was to chalk that up to anything, it would be the fact that its acceptable to be openly bisexual nowadays. Back in the day, there were likely similar number of bisexual men, but they just either kept the fact that they had sex with men under wraps, or suppressed that half of their sexuality.

The question is, how many 40 year old decent, educated, successful, working and well-adjusted men are going to be genuinely interested in settling down with a 19 year old girl? Many of these dudes are probably already going to be in long-term relationships, for a start. For those who aren't, theres a pretty strong chance they are divorced. And believe you me, no divorced man is going to want to actually settle down with a woman who is starting out in life with no means. "Ding ding ding" say the …

People don't just "turn gay". If people could actually "turn gay", you wouldn't have people struggling to date or resenting the opposite gender. They'd just say, "fuck it" and go for their own gender instead. There isn't consensus on how much of sexual orientation is down to nature and how much is down to nurture. But even if it were 100% nurture, one still would not just "turn gay" in response to a problem they perceive.

Well, as I said, I don't have Instagram. So we're at an impasse. I can send you a random influencer dude's Instagram if you like. Or would that just be stealing your idea?

Yeah, I spent about 6 years going to the gym five times a week. I don't anymore, as I now focus on long-distance running. I work as an software engineer as do most of my friends. Don't know if that meets your "real man" standards lil dude.

I was not. Raised by both parents who are now married almost 40 years. They modelled an extremely healthy relationship to me and my siblings growing up. They had disagreements and didn't hide it, were each others best advocates but were still able to criticise each other respectfully. Not once did my mother speak ill of my father to me, or vice versa.

If thats the vibe you want, go find it. I'm not saying you're not entitled to want a woman who never disagrees with you or challenges you. I'm just voicing my opinion that in my experience most men do not want the same type of women you do, and that opinion remains unchanged.

I'm 27, I'm not your grandpa. Also I'm not married to my partner. Kinda surprised you're 24 tbh. I would have guessed from your discourse that you were maybe 17 or 18. I do know from my gf's younger sister that COVID lockdowns hit you guys social developmental trajectory though. I feel for you. Anyway, I'm just sharing my opinion and experience. My take is informed by my own preferences and experiences, as a man in a relationship, with friends who are men who are on the dating scene. Might not line up with yours. "Keeping someone in check" might not be the right choice of words though, I realise that can sound like "taking down a peg or too". Most men want women who are able to challenge them and disagree with them constructively. You do not grow as a person if you surround yourself with sychophants.

There's an entire middle ground between someone who constantly challenges you and someone who is doormat. The binary thinking a lot of people on this sub have is really wild. Most men want partners who are supportive and kind to them, but who are still able to set reasonable boundaries and to challenge them and "keep them in check" when its needed.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 02:21 PM

“Oh, you’re a straight white male who doesn’t tow the line re: our commie bullshit? Shame about your license bruh…” I think it was moreso rooted in him telling someone to kill themselves on Twitter, but okay

Even if it is by choice, if/when they decide to start dating they will still be liable to make mistakes due to lack of experience.

The point is, the level of artificial intelligence requeired for realistic, gratifying reciprocity is much higher than we are currently at. Its not that the AI needs to be intelligent in human terms, but that the technology needs to be very, very advanced.

Even so, how does everything else I've said work with the notion that women are all chasing casual sex with hyper-masculine Chad? Six foot, six pack, six inches and all that. Surely if unmasculine "betas" are what modern women want for casual sex, men fitting this description would be drowning in it? Short, skinny guys with no chin would be having the time of their lives, no?

In completely good faith, do you actually know any women who are on hormonal birth control? Its generally got quite a lot of side effects, and it puts a woman at a non-insignificant increased risk of a number of severe medical issues. IUDs also apparently hurt like hell to get inserted. Its really not the type of thing many women do unless they're doing it for the sake of better sex in a relationship, or else issues with heavy or painful periods. Condoms exist and are pretty effective for those …

Fair enough if that works for you. Personally, I just tended to not really put any effort into that kind of thing. I don't doubt I probably did piss off a woman or two, but realistically they probably weren't the type of women I would have had wanted to have a relationship with anyway. A lot of dating advice comes down to people sharinf their experiences and what works for them, rather than hard and fast rules.

There was a study done that suggested that women on birth control tend to view computer-generated faces which looked feminine more favourably than those which looked masculine, and women not on it tended to do the opposite. Its not really indicative of much on its own. Two big factors that I think would pretty easily explain this would firstly be that hormonal birth control is pretty well-known to have libido reduction as a potential side effect, and secondly that most women on birth control rea…

Answering this question in a vacuum is pretty much impossible, and pointless, because by the time sex robots which would actually be able to compete with human partner, even just for sexual purposes, are available, we will realistically be at, or almost at, a technological singularity. That is, a point where human beings and machines are essentially equal. We're a very long way from replicating the feel of external skin, let alone that of a vagina. You've also got reciprocity, as I'd imagine eve…

I think if the relationship is healthy and there is genuine love and admiration, then one will naturally seek to compensate for the areas where one is getting a "good deal", regardless of what the actual agreement is. The hard rules and complicated systems start when this breaks down. Like if one partner earns significantly more than the other but they are splitting rent or mortgage repayments 50/50, then the higher earner will try (without being asked) to do more housework or pay more often for…

The umbrella thing I guess makes sense if the woman hasn't brought one and she has long hair thay would look worse wet and would be more difficult to dry than the mans. However, also my experience has been that women tend to carry umbrellas way more often than men do. I've heard of more men refusing to carry umbrellas because they're "girly", than women expecting to be given them by men.

It wasn't so much about countering oppression, as it was about putting a code of behaviour on knights, as they were agents of their king and thus were to behave in a way that would reflect positively on his employment, treatment and indirect instruction of them, and to outwardly advertise certain values as being espoused by his regime. You see a lot of parallels in modern institutional codes of conduct and behaviour.

I haven't dated in a long time, as I'm taken. When I did, I never did this. Although I never drove to dates anyway because they tended to involved drinks. Pretty sure most women would have seen me getting into the car and driving after a drink or two to cancel out any points holding an umbrella over her might have scored me lol. But I get your drift. And no, I generally didn't do much of the old-school so-called "chivalrous" stuff when I dated. Maybe if I did, I would have been more successful s…

Are you serious? This is constant. A girl who got cheated on will go out to bars and clubs with her girls to fuck Chad after Chad to "feel sexy again". I've seen this countless times. And why shouldn't she? She got lied to and fucked over by a dishonest partner, now she wants to have sex with other guys because she is no longer bound by a completely false agreement of exclusivity. How is this in any way a negative reflection on the woman? She was given lemons and she made lemonade. She's got it …

Exactly. My partner tends to wash the dishes because she genuinely likes doing it and finds it relaxing. I tend to do most of the cooking because I enjoy it and find its a good way to immediately context-switch after work, which is good for my mental health. Obviously its not a hard and fast rule or anything, its just the way things tend to work out, and we've found out the reason for each others' gravitations by unsuccessfully pushing back on them.

IDK I'm Irish and I don't think any woman besides my late grandmother has ever expected me to hold a door open for her. If I'm wrong, I guess I've pissed off a lot of women over the years. I guess you Yanks really do live under the born-again Protestant Taliban.

If a couple both in their early-mid 30s have kids, they will be phyisically able to both run around and play with their kids when they're young. When they reach their 50s and their kids are at the age when they'll be moving out and becoming independent, the parents will still be young enough to have the energy to do things like travelling together, enjoying having a carefree sex life again, and socialising at their own pace. When they're in their 60s they'll both be fit and mentally with-it enou…
