Modern relationships are far less based on practicality and far more based on companionship Pretty serious hot-take. Life is hard, I don't care who you are. Even living in a first-world country. x for doubt thinking a person can truly handle it all on their own, especially in old age.

You're right, average Adam will eventually grow up and stop chasing extravagant jane. Once he does he will meet average Nancy, and they will come to accept each other's faults and understand that marriage isn't a cruise or an amusement park but a partnership where people help each other bear life's difficult loads. And then extravagant jane will be left alone as she wants, raising her IVF child by herself to be another fatherless statistic.

Or, more likely, there are groups of people not running around in drunken and/or drug-filled frenzies, who are either in faithful relationships, marriages, focusing on their career before getting into a serious relationship, or abstaining for personal/religious reasons. Your argument that people vote against abortion because "taxes" and not "people shouldn't be able to murder an unborn child because they got too drunk and made immature decisions" makes no sense. Go ahead and claim "incel" but no…

The person who responded to you said: "Many times men are at fault" and you replied, in trend with the current equality agenda: "Many times women are at fault". As men we should take ownership of problems, instead of pawning our problems off onto the wife. (NOT that wifes can't be a problem, its just that IMO in this situation husbands are really dropping the ball) As far as the other thing you said: I wouldn't worry too much about it on reddit at the moment. There's a theme in this subreddit from guys going "it's the wife's fault", time to man up and read "extreme ownership". You want your wife to "man up" and lead the charge in fixing the problems in the bed room? She's supposed to court the man and make sure he's ready and in the mood? C'mon man

Is this because the husband was a beta provider and sex was merely a way to lock him down? This is an irresponsible way to look at the problem. To be honest (not always) a large number of guys stop trying once they get married. They stop "dating" their wives, giving flowers, and no longer courting once they have her locked down. They use expect sex.

never going to be able to control how much a woman actually loves and wants the man she is with. That gleaming big eyed look they give you. The cuddles and kisses in the morning. The need to hold your hand and feel close to you. The warm smile. The stroke on the back of your neck when you're driving. True loving sex. Two problems with this. You assume that love is some magical, random, floating, and un-understandable phenomenon. Instead; if men actually found a woman that was attracted to them p…

I completely agree that delaying sex for a short time benefits relationships. It definitely keeps men interested for longer. Well I think there are more reasons than that but the exact reasons why are complicated, bordering on mystery. One of the concepts I have thought about is the way oxytocin works in the brain, after sex it is released as a bonding chemical; people who wait to have sex don't end up pair-bonding with people who aren't good for them. But people who have sex early pair-bond (as…

If you check your links at the bottom of your initial post, you’ll see that all three studies are cited and referenced within the article. Well... The BYU study was considered "Suggested Further Reading", it wasn't a source. And I have no idea where you got the Meltzer study from? Pretty similar to the findings of the other studies, which show that delaying sex benefitted that specific relationship. It does not make claims about waiting until marriage to have sex. So, waiting-to-have-sex and wai…

It’s good to have sex before marriage, since it gives you insight into your partner’s character and is an important compatibility issue. Studies show that people who don't have sex before marriage are better off: https://mywellclinic.com/blog/2020/02/20/science-sex-marriage/ Researchers found that those who wait to have sex until marriage, compared to those who don’t, report significantly higher realtionship satisfaction (20%), better communication patterns (12%), less consideration of divorce (…

It's called: a condom. If you are worried about them breaking, make sure you use a fresh one, and pay the money for plan b if it does break. OR don't have sex out of marriage. Which is a superior option.

Level up your mental health game. That means getting into some individual therapy to address your skills gap. Look, I'm all for it, and I think a lot of young men and old men need to do some serious work on self-awareness and emotional maturity. That being said it's not really going to solve the problem. If all men increase their mental health across the board it isn't going to change anything relatively. Women will continue to say they want more, because -hypergamy-. The problem is that women a…

28 times as many messages as a woman at the low end of our curve. Interesting thanks for sharing! The only problem I have with this is that a lot of women on the "low end of the curve" are usually well, well below average. They either have some major flaw, or weight problem that makes them undateable. But it is true that some middle percent don't get enough messages.

Why would it be different to have sex early or later, other than the above issue? It's good to wait because sex release oxytocin in the brain which is a neuropeptide that encourages pair bonding. If you sleep with someone too early you might form a bond with a bad person. You might be much more tolerant of their abuse and bad behavior.

I just want to try and understand here: Point #1: Women leaders handled covid better - Did the NZ prime minister do a good job, or is it the fact that she runs an island country have something to do with it?
