1	Rules for thee but not for me I don't know what to tell you. You'll get smelly, maybe, which is socially frowned upon, I guess? If you can go weeks and not catch an infection move along, you probably have a healthy immune system; it's generally agreed that cleaning your genitals can lower your risk of infections (often UTIs) because it moves the bacteria in our bodies around, bonus if you kill them with soap, but people who shower every day catch infections too so what gives, right? 1	Rules for thee but not for me Well, I lived in El Salvador, where circumcision is not customary, it's barely even mentioned, and from what I've heard of other guys it's even avoided—so of course doctors will consider it very last resort when all else has failed. 1	Rules for thee but not for me I'm a bit late but yeah, I agree with you. Apparently it reads the wrong way? I'm not a dr. so I can't really say if it really works in regards to avoiding/getting rid of infections, personally I very much doubt it or it could have a very slim effectiveness rate if at all. 1	Rules for thee but not for me Let me ask: why would it have to be completely banned? Why not just make it a law to delay circumcision and make it optional once you become an adult (18 or even 21?) that way everybody gets their cake and eats it too. To be clear: I detest the idea of genital mutilation both in men and in women; it's barbaric whether done religiously or not, but if we're about finding a middle ground that benefits all (especially the child who doesn't get to decide), then I think that would be it, no?	/r/MensRights	04/09/18 04:51 AM

11	Rules for thee but not for me Even for sanitary reasons, it's often unnecessary. Take a shower daily (or at the very least every other day), change your underwear, go to the doctor if it looks like you have a UTI (rare but possible in men) or STI and most likely you'll be fine. I won't go into details but I only know one guy who was recommended it by drs when his candida infection wouldn't go away with anything; even then, drs were willing to try anything before circumcision because it was last resort. Also, this is something very American; at least in LatAm, from my experience, people don't circumcise their kids (unless they're Jewish and do it for religious/traditional reasons). The issue is an American one, and both parents often have a say in it, not just women imposing anything—you guys have been sold the idea that "it's cleaner", but as long as you take a shower and change your underwear you'll most likely be fine.	/r/MensRights	04/09/18 04:41 AM
