Well the issue is my debts are substantial but manageable. I've been cutting back on expenditures to shove into repayment. But the fact is a huge portion of my paycheck goes to bills and repayment. I don't have the bandwidth at the moment to do much of anything in the way of investing. My plan would nearly erase all debt in the next two years, if all goes well. I'm in the U.S., by the way. IIRC (it's been a while since I read JRRT's notes), Gimli may have gone to Tol Eressea rather than Valinor. I research and write about ancient Rome in my spare time and seeing a Roman Empire built into the lore of a fantasy series is refreshing.
