I now see it as such a red flag anytime a guy whines about women always getting custody. Almost always he’s doing it to make it seem like he tried to get custody and lost. It’s to deflect attention from him being a garbage parent who abandoned his kids by projecting the blame onto women.

Right? He knew it was already out of his hands, but wanted to make it seem like he was calling the shots and rejecting her to protect his ego.

He is literally gaslighting her here, because he already lied about supposedly having to see his dad at the hospital. Lies just fall out of this dude.

This is so true. There are men who are very intimidated by beautiful women. They will try to hurt her by negging or other such things, because hurting her makes them feel more powerful and in control. Suddenly she doesn’t seem so intimidating to them anymore.

No one says “I’m a woman and…..” more than men pretending to be women on Reddit.

The acting like women don’t have needs... It’s part of the whole subjugating women so men can see them as less than to justify the terrible things they have done and still do to them. Like they aren’t really human so we can treat them this way. It’s like what is done with literal slaves.

I’m glad women are advocating for this more. I think the more financially independent women are in relationships, the more power they have too get up and leave these sorts of situations. When men hold all the money there is more of women having to ignore their own needs to strictly focus on men‘s needs to survive. It seems men claiming they don’t care about a woman’s career is really about the control and benefits that come from him being the breadwinner.

What is it with men’s beliefs about this? Its how you get entire countries where women and children’s clitorises are cut out so they can’t orgasm.

Working two full time jobs like that for a man will get you looking old and haggard well before your time. Then you have to deal with men deciding to upgrade to a newer model.

“Why should we keep doing things for ungrateful people?“ This reminds me of all the posts I saw from women at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put all this work into these get togethers, organizing it, buying food, cooking it and then still doing all the clean up while men were happy to just sit around chatting. They didn’t get gratitude or thank yous. The work and free labor was just expected of them. Yes, I get women did this for their kids and families, but why aren’t men helping? They just e…

I think a lot of it had to do with husbands typically being the sole breadwinners, which put women in a vulnerable position. Women were essentially working for their husbands, but not getting paid for it. This gave husbands much more power and control over their wives. If women wanted money from their husbands they had to make sure they were making him happy. They had to do more of what he wanted to please him. Divorces weren’t as common so women were more stuck in bad marriages. Of course this …

In the past, more so than now, society tried to project men’s cheating onto women by saying she didn’t try hard enough to keep him. If she was blamed then he got off the hook for it. A woman can do everything her partner ever wanted, she can look like a super model, she can be the type of woman all men want and if he’s the cheating type he’ll still cheat. Think of JFK and his beautiful wife Jacqueline. He still cheated. One thing a woman can never give her partner is the novelty of being someone…

They may discount those things, but then they also seem to want women to do those hobbies, just so that they can then discount them. Women aren’t infringing on their “turf” this way.

There is a very real vulnerability in being a SAHM. If you read the legal advice subreddit you will frequently see posts from women who are abused in these situations. She doesn’t have money, he does and he decides where it goes. She is essentially working for him, but not being paid or getting much credit for all the work she does. There are so many posts from women who want to leave their husband, but don’t have the money. The subreddit explains that many attorneys know about this situation an…

Yes, if he has so much contempt and resentment towards women why doesn’t he just leave them alone? This man clearly has issues if this is the sort of thing he thinks about and posts about. He isn’t living the sort of life that would attract women towards him and yet he makes it all about his appearance.

Exactly, that they feel the need to ask it at all is a red flag to me. My go to if a man asked me that would be “Does it matter?” A secure man isn’t going to be threatened by a feminist.

Can’t even tell you the amount of times I have had men “jokingly” give me a tough time about carrying pepper spray on my keychain. I've noticed there are plenty of men that bring something of value who are choosy about the wife they want, but not very choosy about the women they are trying to manipulate into sleeping with them. Obviously these aren't HVMs. These types of men know they have things of value be it money, an education, desirable vocation, well known family, connections, looks, etc. They know exactly how to leverage these things to get what they want and they don't care about who they hurt in the process.

Men know how much work it is and that they don’t want to do it. They are acting like it isn’t work in hopes that this sort of ethos will catch on. There are hundreds, thousands of hours of free labor at stake for them. Know your worth and the value in your time, energy and efforts.

I think a lot of men do things they know they aren’t supposed to do having decided in advance they will try to play it off as not understanding or knowing any better. All attempts to communicate just give him a pass, because he knew what he was doing was wrong and relied on “communicating” to get away with it. So long as someone is communicating they are still tolerating his behavior and allowing him to get away with it, versus just leaving and cutting communication.

I used to be the same way. If I saw a guy who seemed troubled I thought that with enough love, caring or support I could change him or fix him. I was so naive and stupidly and wrongly assumed that maybe he had been hurt or abused and that was why he was the way he was. With time and some very scary experiences with men because of this I learned that these men don’t at all think like me. For many men all the love and support in the world isn’t enough to fix them. They will still use you, cheat on…

I think it has to do with men’s desire to subjugate women to gain power and control over them. They don’t want to build women up, because they think it would be harder to gain control and get what they want from them in the long run. Therefore they only temporarily act nice to get something they want.

For anyone living in the US, make sure to look up where sex offenders in your area live and what their offenses are. I was getting out of my car and noticed a stack of books on the seat of the car next to me. Underneath the books were actual sex offender papers peeking our for classes he had to attend. The women are spending their time doing labor they are getting paid for versus thankless free labor. Men on the Forbes list have a wife to take care of their kids and do all the other household things, so they have all that energy to direct towards their job. They want women to have all the sympathy in the world for their mental illness problems, yet they have zero sympathy for any mental illness problems women have. So many have double standards, selfishness, complete lack of empathy, entitlement and no problems with trying to force someone who detests them to be in a relationship with them. The type of men who try to use a woman to be happy, versus wanting to make a woman happy, will only pull her down to their level over time.

“This, coupled with the fear of being called a “Karen” or “hysterical and insecure”, makes us unlikely to leave while we have not yet developed too many feelings, and instead choose to play “cOoL giRL” and put up with low-value garbage.” This right here is exactly why men have such vitriol and speak out so much against “Karens.” Men who make a big deal about Karen’s are trying to ensure women continue to accept abuse, don’t speak up, stay with abusive men and in general do what men want. Immigrants where I have lived throughout my life have worked the hardest, most thankless jobs that no one else wants to do. Getting married doesn’t stop violent men. There are men that still go off on sh**ting sprees even when they are married. They start with their wife and kids and then go from there into the community. Men harass women who talk about how abusive, violent and cruel they can be. They say “not at all men” to shut women up. They don’t want women getting this information out, because it makes it harder for men to be believable when talk about women’s happiness. For what it’s worth I don’t think they dislike you or can’t stand you. They dislike what they might see as “bitchy” traits that are preventing them from easily getting what they want from you. Your “bitchy” traits probably greatly protect you. They are trying to lower your standards, to get you to doubt yourself and to erase your boundaries. This will all make it easier for them to control you.

Good for you to protect other women. Predditors always seem to have things they say (that they know aren’t true) to shift the blame and responsibility for their behaviors onto others. They don’t want to have to change, because real change takes hours and hours of dedicated work and effort. Just accepting that they were wrong can be a blow to their fragile egos that they can’t handle.

”Once it’s associated with women it's poor, dirty, gross, looked down upon and disparaged.” Treating women like they are less than and looking down on them comes from men’s desire to oppress women in order to extract their free labor, sex and so that men can more easily get their egos stroked.

So true, I went and found the post where that man tried to cut that woman’s Nexplanon out of her arm. She said he had been fine up to that point. He had been hiding who he was and no doubt once he got her baby trapped his true self would come out. She ended up leaving that guy‘s house and got an order of protection against him, which he immediately violated.

Also, what kind of a person whines that feminism is preventing children from being abused?

Exactly! There are many men that have come home from work and rather than help out with the kids or around the house, they would work on something in their free that could gain them recognition and get their ego stroked by the public. Yes, they truly expect us to marry men we don’t find attractive. It’s not that they can’t do a cost benefit analysis so much as it doesn’t serve their own interests to do so. They only care about how a woman meets their needs and what they can get out of her. They don’t care about how much this effects her or how much she ends up suffering because of it. I’m sure she has. I think the point of ”communicate” for men is so that they get the chance to manipulate a woman through playing dumb, mind games, gas lighting, DARVO, etc. Like what you said has been your experience IRL. I made a comment on an FDS posting about Elon Musk that has since been removed! I just now went into my post history to try to copy the links I used and it’s missing. I said in it that all of his children have been boys. Five of his kids were for sure produced using IVF and IVF allows you to choose the sex of your baby. I said then and still believe now that he chose to have all boy babies. This current posting will also eventually be detected and removed by Musk’s public relations/social media …

In movies, when women are in roles the patriarchy doesn’t like, they deliberately make them look bad. I’ve noticed too that when a man is cheating on his wife they make the wife look bad in some way to prevent you from losing sympathy for his character. I think the movie industry is really harmful to girls, teens and young women, because you think that’s just how it is, not that you are being manipulated to believe something that isn’t true. As you get older it’s easier to see through the manipu…

To add to this, for anyone reading “misogynist terrorism“ is a thing. From wiki: Misogynist terrorism is terrorism motivated by the desire to punish women. It is an extreme form of misogyny, the policing of women's compliance to patriarchal gender expectations.[1] Misogynist terrorism uses mass indiscriminate violence in an attempt to avenge nonconformity with those expectations or to reenforce the perceived superiority of men. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misogynist_terrorism

I’ve known/seen so many, typically codependent, women develop alcohol/benzo addictions after getting into a relationship with NVM/LVM. As outsiders I, and others, can see exactly what is going on, but since she is “in it” so to speak, she can’t see it. She is stressed and feels bad, because she is being abused, is being expected to do all the work and has expectations put on her that no person alive could ever meet. It is crazy for men to pressure women for sex like they do so early on, especially when they so often treat her like complete garbage afterwards if she gives in. Don’t fall for it ladies. Just more lies and propaganda that men are behind putting out. All to convince women to give up their power. Men are just afraid that if they lose control they will have to do more work, because they will have to give up all the free things they gain as a result of subjugating women. That if women have their own money they will be less likely to put up with abuse and cheating and will leave. Hopefully women out there see through this kind of bs.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why pro life men supposedly care so much for the life of the fetus, but then not so much once they are born. The motivations behind caring about the two things are very different. For a lot of men, being pro life isn't about care or concern for the wellbeing of the fetus, baby or child so much as the power and control they gain from a woman being pregnant or having children. Women tend to be more vulnerable and dependent on men when they are pregnant or…

Have you noticed how men aren't trying to stomp out subreddits like feminism? This is because they are already controlling the narrative of them. They are only trying to stomp out the feminist subreddits they don't have control of. There is a particular vitriol in blocking members of FDS that isn't normal. Say the person running feminism didn't agree with type of feminism that is here at FDS. This normally would just be a difference in opinion, it is still a type of feminism that belongs on that…

Maybe you could look at it differently, like as a vetting tool. If he pays for your meal, but acts like you owe him kisses, sex or anything else for it, shut it down and don’t talk to him again. Its good way too weed out LVM.

The more I realize the extent men go to in order to deceive, manipulate, control, sleep with, get us to do almost all the work, etc., the more upset I become. I never knew how bad it really was. These men have only ever “jokingly” done sexist things to my face. Fortunately even though they were smiling, “just kidding” or attempting to put on a jovial front while doing so, I always sensed the mean and toxic intent behind it and stayed away from these men. Other women/teens/girls aren’t as able to…

If you tell them why, it also gives them the chance to manipulate you and to talk you out of leaving.

I've had horrible experiences with Arab men here in the US. They look at me like I am complete trash, simply because I am a woman. This is just out and about in public. They tend to have deep misogyny issues, Arab society in general does. I'd be afraid that even if I met an Arab HVM, I'd have to deal with sexism from close family members.

Absolutely, I've noticed that a good chunk of the men posting to r/legaladvice for help regarding their pending divorce, are trying to blame it all on the soon to be ex-wife for cheating. I've read so many of these that by now I know its statistically not possible.

Actual nice guys don't tell you they are nice guys, because they don't have to. You can see it in their behavior. I actually love when men tell me they are a NiCe GuY. Its a red flag that clues me into their true personality really quick and I know what type of person I am dealing with. I don't engage with them and keep them as far from me as I possibly can.

This is actually a great way to weed out low value men. If a man isn't confident enough, can't take the potential rejection or doesn't want to do the work to make a move, then it is signaling there will be a lot of troubles in the relationship later on. There are a lot of other things he won't want to do the work for throughout the whole relationship and you will be left doing all of the work. Him not being able to handle rejection shows he is thin skinned. Over time he will try to lower your co…

I have the same preferences, though I didn't start out this way. It became this way because of bad experiences with sexually inappropriate and pervy doctors. Let other people think you are weird and continue to protect yourself. Unfortunately they may end up having to learn the hard way. I also believe that seeing women doctors supports women in general.

Making you doubt your judgement is one of the reasons they want you to CoMmUnIcAtE with them after they’ve messed up. It only serves them by giving them the chance to manipulate their way out of whatever crappy thing they did.

These comparisons are also a manipulative and indirect way to control you and your behavior. When he compares you to others, while putting others down in the process, he is telling you not to do these things. But, if you aren't like the other people he is comparing you to, who's behavior he doesn't like, why is he even bringing it up and pointing it out? He wants to make you feel like you would be a bad person if you did any of them.

This also what the constant pushback against “Karens” by primarily men is all about. Cowing other women into silence. There was a post on legaladvice about a woman who tried to get a ring fixed. She noticed they switched out the expensive and unique stone when they fixed it. When she called to complain he said she was just being a “Karen“ to try to shut her up. Men will try to use labeling women as Karen’s to get them to shut up should they try to speak out. I consider men who go on and on about…

I’ve wondered the same thing too. I think these men lean towards being unattractive, have poor life skills, little social skills and are abusive. Women don’t want to be with men like this, so rather than put effort forward to become better, they turn to manipulation and trying to force women to be with them.

It sounds great, but it comes across as slick lip service and puts me on guard. Its so easy to quickly say something like this for points or to look good without having to put forward much effort. I wouldn't believe it until I saw it backed up by actions and behavior over time.

Yep, religion was created by men for men. I’ve done a lot of reading on many different religions and how women of each are treated. Like with Christianity, these different religions are used globally by men to control women’s behavior.

Many men don't care at all about a woman's well being because it is all about what they can get out of her, regardless of the detrimental effect it can have on her life. Men do a lot of harassing women to control women's behavior so that they can continue to receive the benefits women provide without having to do the majority of the work. A lot of this involves the constant subjugating of women in many ways that are pervasive. They mock the stereotype and degrade women who "don't need a man," be…

I know, these sorts of stories always make me sad. I just looked up Jerry Lee Lewis, yeah it was his 13 year old cousin. In 2014 she said, “I couldn’t believe that they could not see that I was a grown woman. I was only 13, but people said I was more mature than Jerry.”

Well, not me. I’ve always been bothered by this stuff. In 1975, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) convinced the parents of 14 year old groupie Julia Holcomb (Holcolm) to sign over guardianship to him so that she could live with him in Boston. He returned her at 17 after she had to abort his child. He then moved on to someone new that he hadn’t already used and damaged. All of this did serious damage to her and she ended up suicidal.

His texts must have been pretty bad for him to get fired over it. Do not feel bad for protecting and standing up for yourself and the other women he was going to do this to next. HE got himself fired because of what he did. He more than knew that what he was doing was wrong, he just mistook you for someone he could do it to. He was absolutely taking advantage of you and you did the right thing.

"With every new wave of feminism, there is always a backlash from men. The suffragettes were portrayed as evil, ugly, man hating, and cruel for daring to ask for the right to vote." There is also an unfortunate backlash against feminism with the many antifeminist posts from other women or "women" here on FDS. I sometimes think there are men who have stealthily joined FDS under the guise of being a women and are the ones creating a lot of these antifeminist posts. They already blatantly post thes…

Beware the massive number of men who are posting as "women" on the internet and calling themselves feminists. They deliberately say and do terrible things to make feminists look bad. This creates anger, hatred and a backlash against feminists and women's rights. It works beautifully for them.

There was a reddit legal advice post yesterday about a man in the US military who was sleeping around with eight to ten different women. He produced fake documentation to show that he had a vasectomy and that he didn't have any STD's. She ended up with two STD's and is pregnant. https://www.reddit.com/r/legaladvice/comments/j1du4a/ex_bf_lied_about_being_infertile_and_std_free/

He continued the sex because it's unlikely that his former partners were like what he says. Men who say this about former partners are doing this to motivate and fear monger you into giving more to them sexually. They are telling you that if you don't give them more effort sexually they will leave you.
