It takes both people to change and then decide if they like that person. If you improve and she doesn't then if you get back together then she just gets a better you and you get the same woman.

Don't give up hope. Time heals. Everyones situation is different. Always do what's best for you and your kids no matter how your divorce goes. My wife told our kids without me. They walked around for a week knowing and me wondering how to tell them the best way. That hurt and I let her know.
