Not the guy you're responding to but my very first fast was exactly 2 weeks and I was fine. This story is obviously not about fasting, though, it's starvation. They're not the same thing.

Well, that would be police harassment and she would easily win a civil suit for it. She served her time and is free and clear now. There's also a Facebook group that basically keeps tabs on her. But that's private citizens. Police can't just indefinitely stalk people.

This was in 93ish. Ethics didn't have guidelines for this particular situation. And it's not fair to call his lawyer a subhuman piece of shit. Everyone deserves legal representation. He did what he thought was right and in the best interests of his client, which it was. He learned of and discovered the tapes based directly on his client's direction, which is obviously covered under attorney client privilege. He had a duty to act in his client's best interests, barring knowledge of ongoing or fut…

At the time Canada law ethics guidelines didn't cover this situation. He had a duty to his client and the tapes would have sealed a conviction (obviously). At the same time, those tapes didn't show that there were current future victims/imminent harm. Bernardo told him where to find the tapes, the plan was to use them to impeach Homolka but it didn't come to that. Turning them over to the police would be a) breaking attorney/client privilege and b) not acting in his client's interests. The ethic…

Except in this case she got a deal because his lawyer withheld evidence - the tapes.

No, they came out when the new lawyer turned them over to the judge and the audio was played during his trial. Edit: most of the tapes were fully played for the jury, judge, and lawyers, the public only hear audio.

I think you're conflating this with a law and order svu episode. His defense attorney had those tapes. He withheld them from the prosecutor but after asking for guidance from an ethics panel, he recused himself and the new lawyer turned the tapes over to the judge. This was, very unfortunately, after the woman had already taken the plea and provided evidence to convict him.
/r/PussyPass11/09/20 09:11 PM

Yes and no. His defense lawyer withheld evidence from the prosecution and police - video tapes they made showing her as an active participant in the druggings, rapes, and the killings. The prosecutor made a deal with her to testify provide evidence against him. Had they had those tapes, she would have been tried and convicted of life just as he was.

The thing about the sister is the worst - They decided in the summer to rape her, so in July spiked her food with Valium and she woke up a minute into the rape. Then at the family Christmas party 6 months later, the spiked her with some animal tranquilizers Homolka had stolen from the vet where she worked. She ended up choking on her own vomit and died. Also, she raped those girls as well according the tapes they recorded.

I definitely didn't say a man wouldn't feel like that. I'm fact, I implied he would feel like that when he I said a man would experience breast cancer a lot differently than women.

So first, women don't have a prostate gland. Second, hypothetically, actually I would agree that a woman with "prostate" cancer would not necessarily belong in a men's prostate cancer support group. Men would experience it differently than women, in ways that specifically affect a man's self image and masculinity. Erectile dysfunction and infertility, for example, are 2 of the most common side effects. And, just as in the breast cancer group, men would have a difficult time being open and vulner…

The answer is plainly that women experience breast cancer far differently than a man does. This is not simply a cancer survivor group, it is specifically a breast cancer survivor group. Breasts are much more a part of a woman's identity than a man's and a man would not go through the same emotions like doubting their self worth, of they're still attractive, will their spouse still love them, etc. Things like the possibility of not being able to breast feed a child can be especially devastating. …

I know this is supposed to be a joke but it's so wrong that the joke is actually the opposite of what you're trying to say. Sperm travel through the uterus and up the fallopian tubes to meet the egg(s) after the ovary has released it. Then the fertilized egg (which the sperm fused with) travels back down the fallopian tube and attempts to implant in the uterine lining. The sperm literally goes to pick up and escort the egg to their uterine date.

How many women passed by and also didn't offer help? Hell I've offered to give a guy a hand when I walked past him struggling and he gladly accepted. Changing a tire is a pretty basic skill that everyone should learn how to do. You'll be caught in the middle of nowhere at night with a flat tire and no cell reception then you're fucked.

Yep the case you're referring to is Michelle Carter, the one I mentioned at the end of my comment. It is different because this case doesn't have a direct action but I'm confident, at some point, we (in the US at least) will have laws that can hold accountable false accusers.

I agree, the law is always evolving because we as a society are always evolving our stances on certain actions. While false accusations have always been around, they have become even more damning and consequential in recent years. Metoo has had far reaching consequences, both good and bad. On the one hand, it's given countless women (and men)the courage to come forward, when before they were basically forced to shut up and take it in fear of not being believed and/or retaliation. In the other, v…

Inciting someone to commit suicide is a thing. There's some argument in various countries about whether that should be a manslaughter charge or not. Personally I think a case like this merits it. Furthermore, filing a false report is a felony in some jurisdictions, sometimes the judge has discrepancy where they review the person's history and their intentions and can decide that it's charged as a misdemeanor or felony. In this case, it would definitely merit a felony because of her intent. Which…

I use their rose and vanilla. Over the past year I've developed worsening bumps, like you'd get with ingrown hairs even if I go awhile without shaving. Mostly stopped since I switched to schmidts. It's nowhere near as effective as real deodorant and it's not an anti-perspirant at all but it smells decent and it's better than nothing.

Regardless of any standard age of consent, it is by and large accepted that when it involves a person in a position of authority and a minor, it is always rape. The only legal age of consent between a student and a teacher is 18.

Cameras are everywhere in 7-11 and the police definitely do look for them if it's reported. I don't stop unless it's Sam's club (where you are obliged to personal your membership). They can't stop you and there's no laws about it. I used to gladly comply until like 6 years ago I went to Best Buy to pick up an online order. I wait in line at customer service for like 20 minutes then when I finally get to the counter, they don't even have my order. So I got to wait another 15 while someone went and looked for it. There were some at his sentencing (or interviewed right after, not sure) that still maintain he raped them.
