Pretty clear example of failure to maintain outcome independence. Question isn't how he or anyone could "win" a no-win situation. The question is whether you have the fortitude to bounce immediately from association with that particular person in that moment.

I've read this same comment a ton of times on different forums over the last few years - its clearly copypasta. Obviously that doesn't take anything away from the substance, but this blog is obviously Facebook clickbait bullshit. Read if you haven't seen before but otherwise don't bother with the posts or discourse.

Please share your test or other thoughts and analysis on family wife stuff. The board is younger and skews towards plating which is fair (and I’m young myself). But in addition to my mission and family, plating is important to me as a game to find a wife eventually to start a family of my own. I would love to hear your thoughts on this- PM, response, post, whatever.

Another eagle scout reporting in. I agree wholeheartedly. There is value in educating the sexes differently, especially when it comes to private organizations. Its a shame the girl scouts never got their act together, and a shame the BSA is coed now.

Negative visualization is a tenet of stoicism. Basically “prepare for the worst, so when it happens you know what to do.”

There is a wide belief in the sub that prenups don’t work and judges throw them out all the time. IAAL, but not your lawyer- generally if there is a full and fair disclosure of all your and her assets, both parties were represented by counsel going into the agreement, and neither party signed under duress, they are generally upheld. Note- prenups can pretty much never apply to child support payments. Courts exclusive use a best interest of the child standard to evaluate such payments. This is wh…

Great contribution, I think this could even be a whole post on dealing with tragedy. Have you thought about expanding it?

IIIRC the leading theory (at least in our sub) is that it’s an evolutional adaptation for when a new group comes into the tribe and slaughters everyone, killing offspring and taking wives. It’s interesting as hell, in addition to being very tough to accept.

I think throwing numbers/volume at the situation would help. If you're only gaming one girl at a time, you'll get in your head and think every bubble gum escalation of hers is a big deal. Or, if you're only going on 1 date and doing 1 approach a week, again, you'll get in your head and over-analyze her behavior. I think the key to relaxing and staying confident is to just get out there and practice. I know that's kind of lame to say in order to get over it just do it.. but even with 2 girls at o…

This is a good example of analysis written inside of a FR. In the future, I suggest taking a MUCH longer time period to vet the women in your life before you let them sleep over and soft 'move in.' One month is not nearly enough, especially for your ages. Also, this is a perfect example for why everyone should spin plates and date multiple girls at a time. You most likely would've held frame better if you felt abundance mentality with girls, instead of putting all your effort into her when you d…

I mean it may. The 6A right to counsel doesn't apply to private/public university judicial processes though so you'd be aiming at the jury when you're making the argument. And if you're aiming at the jury and at a trial regardless you're usually fucked, unfortunately.

Then go meet one, or have an idea of one you can call if you have to. Otherwise- When you say you want a lawyer the police will need to end their questioning. They can still detain you and hold you, and question you later after a break, but they have to stop that particular phase of questioning. During this time you should collect yourself and try to figure out a way to contact a lawyer, literally any criminal defense lawyer from google will do. Misdemeanor court appearances and representation i…

I️ agree, not sure what he meant here. Going to the police never helps. Also, many universities forbid attorneys from their judicial hearings. It would be funny if it wasn’t so fucked up.

I️ am a lawyer but I’m not your lawyer etc. You don’t need to invoke a specific right. You can just say “I️ wish to remain silent and will only answer questions with an attorney present.” The key is to be polite and respectful but state only that you wish to remain silent and want a lawyer.

Most, if not all, of my desires to humiliate people came from when I was in the anger phase, or relapsing into an anger phase- which is totally fair and understandable. I found it comforting to think of it this way. What if I was good enough that they didn't turn their noses when they first looked at me? What if my SMV was so high as soon as I walked into the room they were interested? Those fantasies, while they made me feel good in the moment- "hey, if my SMV was that high I could tell her to …

Yea status is like the bread and butter of male SMV. I hated seeing peoples' eyes light up when I mentioned law school, it was such a transparent indicator that my SMV had shot up and that I somehow wasn't good enough seconds ago. I am thankful for those experiences now though, easy way to get TRP'd. Do this degree right- and do it for yourself, of course. Good luck man.

Of course man, see my other response below for more too. Remember that competition makes us all better, and this forum is a valuable place to share insight into self improvement without having to AMOG each other or feel like we can't speak our minds. Yes, night and day. I even got more positive responses when approaching people after I said I was going to go to law school- which I happened to hate. Getting attention just for saying you will do something can be very toxic to self improvement. In terms responses from peers vs. randoms, it all depends, right? We all have internal/external thoughts about ourselves that inform other people about how they should treat us. Internally, we have our confidence, fear, intelligence, shame, charisma, wil…

It's all relative I think. "Too young for the bar" is a powerful social hurdle to overcome. In any event I'm sure during/after med school you'll likely see another huge jump in relative SMV. Male doctor at 34 is comparable to female 24 year old when controlling for the characteristics the opposite sex looks for. It was like night and day for me after day 1 of law school, at least.

TL;DR - don't ever accept the characteristics of people around you (hotness in girls, friendship in guys, or anything) as being "as good as you can get," but recognize that your age and current lifestyle/hobbies are particularly important in determining your SMV relative to others in your environment. At 20 I assume you're going for girls between 18-22, and not having luck with the 21-22 crowd. At least I didn't at that age. This makes sense for you and it did for me, because the girls in that b…

I'm curious, why do you suggest a random or unconnected intro here? I've had good success using context to disarm on the approach, because the initial stages of talking to a new girl can feel hostile.

It's easy: if you're a fat slob/ugly every stare is a creeper stare. If you're in good shape and carry yourself with confidence- stares are cute and mysterious or whatever. There is no objective creeper stare, it ENTIRELY exists in the observers mind. Feels > Reals.

Only embarrassment would be not trying to improve yourself more after you realized what happened. Don't hamster away this experience later, remember the mistake you made and move forward. If your life was so amazing that your bed was already full when the Ex came calling, you might not have made the mistake. Improve yourself, learn, and move forward.

He won't need to even allege damages in most jurisdictions, since she has publicly alleged he suffers from a "loathsome" disease (leprosy, STDs). Personally I wouldn't sue anyway, seems like too much trouble unless she is loaded and you could get a settlement out of her. IANAL and all that.

South Dakota? Can you explain how a restraining order without the signature of a judge could have force of law? Maybe I'm missing something, but every state I'm experienced with requires an ex-parte hearing in front of a judge or clerk magistrate for an emergency order.

Just as a heads up for the guys here, never do this- For his part, before serving her papers, he went to every divorce attorney in town and did a paid consult. Thus they had a legal relationship with him, and couldn't represent her. Your post is a great lesson in abundance mentality, and pursuing your own interests. I'm sure the friend of your friend has caught a lot of shit over the years going after his dream of performing and stuff, its great he is in this position. Were you able to capitalize on knowing the frontman? How did the rest of the night go for you? Of course groupies are not new news, but did you attempt to leverage the situation at all or were you just having fun?

This is a great point. Gratitude from family only, if that. I remember a post a long timer ago about men expecting relationships to be like a bank, where funds deposited continue to have value in the long run, and women seeing relationships as ATMs- where the only value they can extract from a relationship is that which they can withdraw at the current moment in time. Your comment here definitely made me think.

Hey man, we've all been in these kinds of positions. But remember the laws of power. You can think how you want, but in public you have to behave like the others. Better to ignore the beard pulling (which was an obvious shit test) and go talk to someone else next time. Getting thrown out of a bar for a beef with some dumb chick is never worth it.

I doubt Mark had a prenup here, his father parted with family money way too earlier to indicate the kind of wisdom and future planning that would come along with a "better get a prenup" father-son conversation. Again, this is just an assumption because there are no facts regarding a prenup. Prenups are generally enforced when all the elements for their drafting are met. Lot of anger phase here, which is good- venting in this forum can really help. I think there is more to unpack though, why do some have such short memories for shared effort and contributions? As Patrice says, "what have you done for me lately?" That being said, independence and career focus are not deal breakers. If you have money and success you are somewhat insulated from divorce rape if you marry to your same level of wealth and status. Improve yourself, be a self made man in whatever way yo…

buying temperature is transferable This is definitely an important lesson to keep in mind. If you spend all night warming up a chick and validating her its easy for other guys to snag her since her feelz are already running smooth. The other point in here I loved was on overgaming. I agree that the middle 50% of gun owners are probably below the aptitude we would consider appropriate for firearm ownership, but I'd definitely take idiot citizens with guns over not having them at all, way more afraid of government than I am of the neighbors. Can you expound on benefits/risks of only seeing a plate twice in a ten day period? I have a relatively new plate I've been seeing way more than that- not to the exclusion of my main plate or random pick ups I try during my downtime though. If everything is going well, e.g., plenty of sex and you're passing shit tests and still have abundance mentality, why should one artificially ration the attention/time spent with the plate?

once I get some Trust me, when you have some you'll naturally have an affinity for one more than others in a loose hierarchical system. Usually its not as simple as physical characteristics, because who wants to have a witless but hot chick hang around the majority of the time? Often I find its a combination of sexual chemistry and rapport. Is she pleasant to be around/does she contribute? Does she take it easy on the shit tests? Does she fuck right? TP material.

I don't necessarily agree that conversation has no value. Most men need to interact with women on a daily basis for professional or social reasons. It is far easier to be a leader when you're privy to some of the gossip going around. So long as you don't get covered in shit while you're down there, conversation and female friends that don't sap your time/resources can be very useful. Edit: wording

Eye contact is incredibly important, I agree. The idea of lack of confidence as a "poison" resonates with me. Poison circulates through your veins and ostensibly paralyzes your heart- your passion/drive, and your brain- the center of your logical and rational mind. Your closing here made it for me, repeat your mantras endlessly, we should all be ceaseless in our rejection of BP thoughts and behaviors in order to preserve frame.

Can anyone provide more detail on the difference between being in an open relationship vs. spinning plates? Is it a value thing, or based on relative contributions from each person, or what? I've wondered about this lately and would like to hear about what some other men have experienced.

I am a fan of this type of bro-knighting. Stay away from drama, follow your own set of morals, maintain your personal view of integrity. Other posters on TRP would've smashed that ass- and that's cool too. Some of us attack this situation with purely amoral hedonism. I am a fan of this approach in certain situations. Lots of people have made good points in this thread. But this is important - if you're approaching in the same locations all the time you're going to have a problem. You're on a college campus and you go to talk to a girl and suddenly an ex is there? If you aren't ready you shouldn't be doing approaches in front of exes at all, so try and spread out a bit and that may help you. Go to a new coffee place, a bar, a farmers market, whatever.

If you're referring to the few EU countries I'm thinking of, its not necessarily "illegal," per se, you just need to get a court order to do it. In practice, getting the court order is near impossible. In any event, not sure where its flat out illegal. I love how she puts "career" in quotes. The greatest lie told to legions of young women is that having a white collar job will free you from systemic oppression of women. No. You just gain entrance into the male centric office world where instead of your body being the commodity like it is on the outside, your soul is gradually sucked out through your labor.

I'm not sure, solution to what specifically? iCarly and pop culture stuff? I'm not sure a solution to those is necessary. But in terms of improvement of behavior in both sexes I think we here at TRP have the right idea: relentless and amoral self-improvement, sometimes to a fault. You have holes here, not all peoples' definitions of "adults" are the same. If OP didn't want his daughter in his house at all, period, despite the fact that she was an adult he could tell her to move out. She is an adult and would ostensibly be fine in a vacuum- but that'd still be fucked up cause she is family and likely depends on him for financial support. Therefore, despite her status as an adult, she must follow his rules in the house, plain and simple. Your point that consensus doesn't ma…

used day in the terms of 24 hours I still think your argument oversimplifies OP's concerns. Days are not discreet blocks of 24 hour periods with each hour of equal value to the next hour. Leaving the house on a Saturday afternoon at noon is completely different than leaving on a Monday night at midnight. That being said, your comment here is introducing a straw man which is not productive: It's my house so any illogical and completely ridiculous rule that I lay down is law because...I said so...…

The argument is not that he should know her whereabouts every second of every day. It is about her whereabouts at night when he and his wife are asleep and not in direct control of the household. No one is necessarily worried about some boogeyman or rapist shitlord. It is his house and he has near absolute discretion in making rules for it (I'm assuming the daughter knew she was not supposed to sneak out).

My biggest problem with the daughter stuff is that she didn't tell him she was leaving. She's 21, she's old enough to drink and live on her own. She lives in his house, she tells him when she comes and goes if its late (I'm assuming she left the house late at night). I don't think its unreasonable to expect a text that shes leaving so he sees it when he wakes up.

That methodology and the study itself might be ignoring a massive confounding factor. Girls' brains biologically mature and develop faster than boys'. I agree the system is a problem, but I think much of the results here can be attributed to boys being immature at the same age/grade level.

Don't get fatigued, your post here is a perfectly fair and concise breakdown of the possible conclusions that could come from that study. I take seriously the premise that everyone puts their best pictures up on OKC. (people using angles to hide their fat). That in combination with the huge number of messages most women receive on online dating sites leads me to conclude women are not on average being reasonable in their assessments. Edit: Grammar.

That would be ironic. It is a bummer that the bar for "wasting the court's time" is quite high. If she got a lawyer and he/she attempted to bring this suit it might be easier. But pro se litigants bring this sort of frivolous bologna claim all the time, unfortunately.

"That was the final straw," Hampton said in the lawsuit. "I've never heard of a food place not having to-go." Has she never been to a restaurant? asking for $100,000 and a public apology The claim is not stated here. Intentional infliction of emotional distress? Tortious denial of service? Some ridiculous civil rights claim? Kathleen Hampton is representing herself Nevermind, she won't win anyway.

I think some of your points here conflate the necessity of modern monogomous relationships and commitment (marriage) with the true biological necessity of evolution (spread the sperm or lock down a provider, respectively). Put another way, modern monogamy is a relatively "new" invention. A human's genes and instincts are much, much older, to say the least. In any event, I think this post's quote reference that second poster who mentioned the law of the jungle concept is well taken. I think the p…

I'll echo what some of the other posters have said here, if you do decide to outwardly react to this professor and course, make sure to remain anonymous. College campuses need very little to get you in trouble, and your goal in these courses should be to stay under the radar. Get in, get your A (tell them whatever they want to hear) and get the hell out.

We do not know their ages, I would be more hesitant to throw around "jail worthy," personally. Sixteen could be an upperclassman. 16 and 14? not sure there is a jail problem with that, depending on the state. Distributing a video? Without more details, jail seems unlikely.

Unfortunately most universities have a code of student conduct that speaks to student behavior irrespective of location. The code doesn't say "don't rape on campus," it says "don't rape." So if the admins find out their students party or break the code elsewhere they can (usually) still get dragged into the kangaroo courts successfully. It sucks.

Listen to yourself speak and watch your body language. The first break in your frame usually is subconsciously slouching your shoulders and compromising or otherwise changing the firm way you speak to plates. At least in our age group there are many people we should be rightfully submissive in order to get ahead. Don't let your plates play you. Keep your distance. Being lazy in bed with plates is fun but can lead to oneitis and frame breaking if you spend too much time with them and bond- allowi…

Ostensibly- at least some of the problem stems from the near absolute reproductive freedom many women in the west have vs. the limited amount of choice men have once a woman is pregnant. The argument I presume is that women can terminate their pregnancies whenever they want (being a bit hyperbolic but you get the picture). Men however are forced to pay for children even if they do not want them, there is no equivalent "financial" abortion option available to men. That, combined with an observed …

Younger here- but thank you for the post. I appreciate the way you addressed making mistakes in the workplace and having the wherewithal to move forward. The thing that stuck out to me was the understated reference to finding an older male in the workplace to ask the well thought out questions to. That's always been a challenge for me and I like the way you gave a practical formula for thinking through issues, so I can approach other more experienced men with good input.

Can you elaborate on this? I've heard and agree with this comment in regards to physical attributes, but I'm not sure its true for personality and behavior. If the girl hates her mother, etc., but the girl seems normal, and distances herself from the mom and stuff, how can we assume she will end up like the mom? Maybe I'm just being naive- but distance from that sort of socialization must be helpful, no?

Letting yourself fall in love over and over and at a young age is a sign of sycophantic weakness I agree with this for the most part, but I would delve deeper into what is meant by "young" here. A grown man falling over and over? I couldn't agree more. But every man I know had a couple break ups and "loves" over and over in their late teens and early 20's until (if/when) they took the pill. The sentiment is there though.

Classic and important difference in the merits of cultivating equity and abundance with an individual vs. many individuals in a group. I've seen this type of pre-selection in action over and over and at times it has massively improved my SMV.

TL;DR: Don't worry about those particular laws or the system, in reference to what he said directly above you. (Obviously there are other problems with The Law and The System) For the record, generally, the rules of evidence (in the states and federal system) are such that the practical effect of recording the encounter won't matter too much once the video is spread. The posting above was most likely, and correctly if I may add, referring to state laws which prohibit video or audio recording wit…

I think you've touched on a widely recognized but understated component of a lot of TRP philosophy. We care about what works in practice. For all of our theorizing and crafting of hypothetical situations, the most important thing at the end of the day (aside from our general tenets of self-improvement and continual self-actualization) is whether or not you see results. It looked like a mere post-script in your post but I'm sure we can all agree on the importance of a "what works" mentality.

I'm currently looking for my source but please stop giving out this advice with the implication that introducing conflicts into a spouse's search for counsel is a wise idea. It is not, it can lead to civil liability and enormous amount of prejudicial treatment from judges in the U.S. system that men cannot afford in divorce court. Edit: Found it. A while back I asked for advice on a good divorce attorney in another sub. Someone said: "You don't have to hire the best or most expensive attorney. Y…

Also, OP should know that the old "visit every lawyer in town to screw her out of good local counsel" thing has been explicitly and strongly frowned upon my judges in some U.S. jurisdictions. So don't listen to any internet lawyers that tell you to go around to various lawyers in order to box them into a conflict with your wife later. If I can find the source I will change "frowned upon" to "illegal" in this post. Will update if I find the source. Edit: See my post below.

All of the data on the subject, both from U.S. studies and others, supports the assertion that "almost all" or, more conservatively, "a substantial majority" of women prefer men. Studies from various nations, including the U.S., covering varying time periods and age groupings, have produced a consistent statistical range of 1.2–5.6% of the adult population [whom identifies as LGBTQA]. The "fighting over a girl part" can't be understated. If the brothers fought over a beer pong game and made up, or otherwise kept it in the family, that kind of thing can be understood as being passionate and overdoing it by coming to blows. The fact that the fight happened with the brother over the comments of his GF is unfortunate, to say the least. In any event, good on OP for trying to keep cool and making progress.
