All I want is actual equality. In order to have that people need to be honest with themselves and others so we can solve the problem. What we actually see is nitpicked stats and assuming everything is caused by discrimination. It's disgusting really and a little disheartening that we can't even act like adults and talk about it. I haven't met a single self proclaimed feminist that I genuinely believe is being honest with herself/himself

We'll have to wait and see. I think being republican heavily increases the chance of accusations, real or false.

Wait I thought sexism is prejudice+power. No? Just prejudice? Fair enough.

I was going to post in r/feminism but I'm still banned. They were shitting all over the guy for crying. I wanted to say When a man is falsely accused of rape his career could be over. Without a doubt their social life will be a disaster. It effectively ruins a certain part of his life. He seemed hurt and why wouldn't he be? If it happened to me I would probably cry too after seeing the inevitable scar on my life. That being said, I don't think we should pick sides and say we're with one or the o…

You're right. How foolish of me to miss that. I guess we can just keep playing and hope the entire game doesn't conform to this system.

To cater to whom? Those who don't even play? Again, I could be wrong here but I've played with quite a few different groups and not once was someone offended by race. Obviously politics isn't a discussion most tabletop gamers care to talk about. We just see it as a fantasy world. Now we're being demonized for being white men? Sorry that we were born this way and became interested in tabletop games. Should we start to utilize affirmative action and only allow non white non males to play until we'…

Yeah they literally choose class and race and most people I've played with aren't even human. I bet the vast majority of tabletop gamers are white men but I could very well be wrong. Seems like a horrible move on their part. I guess when we talk about diversity the actual person doesn't matter as much as his/her skin color and gender.

Delusional. Most of the comments just shit on polygraphs. I didn't read a single comment arguing that women are never believed. This modern day third wave intersectional feminism is being exposed real quick though and maybe it will start losing traction. The thing is I, like anyone else, advocate for women's rights. I also advocate for men's rights. Do I need to do it under a label? Absolutely not. Feminism today is the most disgusting movement I've seen. Maybe men would be all for it if it didn…

I wonder if she ever read the James Damore memo or if she just echoes the garbage she reads on Huffpost. I'm almost entirely a democrat in almost every way but the fact that all the feminists are on that side drives me away. At what point does the left draw a line and say this is over the top and unnecessary? Counterproductive even.

I think there's a factor of fear involved (didn't want to say fear factor for some reason). The feminist movement seems to have a lot of power and by speaking out against it, one could really damage their reputation. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. Honestly I would have no problem with feminism if it were about women's rights. It's just not anymore. It's more focused now on why women are oppressed indefinitely by the patriarchy. I thought this sub at times needed to focus on mens issues …

Well Google defines feminism as "the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes." I think it's appropriate that r/Feminism would discuss only women's issues. The issue I have, however, is that it's not only about women. A lot of what I've seen on there is hating of men in general. 13 days ago I was temporarily banned for going against their "informativity rules" which I couldn't find anything about on their page. Just today I actually typed out a comment about a post as…

Believe me, I see where you're coming from. I see things on this sub that I often think don't help the cause. In hindsight, I shouldn't have given my opinion in the headline and instead just left it open to discussion.

"If you support any of that on the side of the commies, I have no idea why you are in this subreddit." Assuming I'm the supposed commie. If you're going to be a child and produce nothing to the discussion then leave. You're clearly so angry that you don't remember calling me a commie. I assume everyone on this sub support men's rights but some of them are clearly just keyboard warriors that have anger issues they need to resolve in the real world.
/r/MensRights05/09/18 12:32 AM

I'm on this sub because I think it's important to recognize men's rights. I don't agree with metoo and just because I did you don't think I should be on the sub? Act a little more mature about this and don't let your anger dictate what you say, friend. This is about discussion. Not pointing fingers and shunning people.
/r/MensRights05/09/18 12:15 AM

Because some of us believe in second chances. You're angrier than everyone else here. I know what he did was wrong and I'm open to discussion but I don't believe he should be erased from humanity because of what he did. He also got consent which you conveniently left out. This is important to acknowledge. All that aside, I do agree with you that this and everything else on this sub need to be looked at objectively. I appreciate the comment.

Good. Initially, I was on board and thought it was long overdue. It had paid off with the Harvey Weinstein case. After that it all became a big show. False accusations left and right, #believewomen basically admitting it's a movement against men and toxic feminist culture pretending this is all ok and ignoring the fact that these things also happen to men and also that innocent men are being destroyed by trial of public opinion.
/r/MensRights04/09/18 09:24 PM
2

Sad but true. Usually, they blame trauma or mind games played by the male predators. I was fairly tolerant of these accusations early on but it got out of hand fast and now it's spreading like a cancer. There are false accusations every day which defeats the purpose of the movement. Anyone who had been threatened by an angry ex or something of the like knows how scary it can be. I'm sorry, but jerking off in front of someone (after asking for their consent and saying they can leave if they want)…

Interesting take. Thanks for posting it. I'm just curious to hear what people have to think on the subject. People I know personally seem to mostly think he didn't pay his dues but most of them sound insincere and just like they don't want to say something "wrong." When I ask what is it you want to see happen? Should he go to prison? Pay fines? Usually it's just "no but he shouldn't be doing stand up again."
/r/MensRights04/09/18 09:14 PM

What he did was wrong. Should he no longer be able to pursue his career? He was nowhere near the caliber as others who have been accused. He asked for consent. He said they could leave. He didn't rape somebody.
/r/MensRights04/09/18 07:08 PM

He did what he was supposed to do. I'm not going to say what he did was necessarily right but I'm not going to pretend to be outraged. Nothing the far left does is sincere and it's peeves me.

Immaturity. People need to learn to take some responsibility. Things like that sicken me. Things will only get worse when you avoid your problems. Not only will they get worse for you but potentially for people around you. This is one big problem I have with wearing the feminist title. It used to be about empowerment and now we have things like this happen every day.
/r/MensRights03/09/18 06:25 AM
1

Right. I had to point it out to him. I'm curious to see what he will think of feminism after this is all over. It's a disgusting thought, really. Weaponizing rape and harassment allegations. There's no justice there. Especially when we are to "believe women" even when they clearly have bad intentions or sometimes outright lie. That's not to say some aren't taking it seriously.
/r/MensRights03/09/18 06:19 AM
8

Dude. I didn't rub it in too much but I told him so. Obviously I'm supporting him through it but now he's on the receiving end of feminism by his feminist ex girlfriend. Just wearing the title doesn't keep you safe from the general goal of destroying men. I know him better but I do somewhat know her and she's only wanting to do this to feel like an empowered woman. It's about her.

So he should be good since she was 15 and he was 18. Whether or not they had intercourse in that time frame, as far as I know, is impossible to prove. The whole thing is messed up. She has nothing to gain unless her goal is to ruin his reputation. Its probably unfair of me, but I doubt their relationship had any kind of toll on her at all.
/r/MensRights03/09/18 05:31 AM

Not that it's much better but she was 15. They were both dumb kids (we both still are). It's just that my friend is paying the price for it now. I hope she doesn't claim abuse. I'm worried that she may resort to that if things don't go her way. This last bit is helpful. He told me it was consensual and she recommended they have sex. Like I said, only those two know. However, in court, a he said she said case almost always sides with her. As far as that goes, I guess his best bet is to just be ho…

What's unfortunate is that she more than likely won't ever learn from this and it's not entirely her fault. I would expect better out of someone elected for a political position but it's hard when you're in an echo chamber. Right now, Ocasio-Cortez is more than likely receiving mostly support and justification on why she was right to call Ben Shapiro a catcaller. The reality of it, and what we see from outside of the echo chamber, is an immature, self-righteous person name-calling and acting as …

It's redundant. One could conclude that sexism occurs more among women than men but that would be prejudice against men. To pretend like sexism affects women more is foolish to believe. When you grow up you'll realize men and women both face their own respective hardships and they're mature about it.

I don't understand why they would want to label themselves feminists still. Maybe because it once stood for something good. Affirmative action is exactly an example or something my aunt (this feminist I described) hated. Handouts based on your sex.

I know a few self proclaimed feminists. A few of them act like this, a few don't act on it but believe in things like the wage gap and rape culture. Only one feminist I know is reasonable. She doesn't preach about the patriarchy and the under representation of women in high end jobs. She calls herself a feminist because she believes women should have every right a man has. That being said, she doesn't act like misandry doesn't exist. She doesn't pretend that men earn more money entirely in desir…

I genuinely don't understand why this only applies to women. The reason I saw was because women typically are the primary care givers. I think the idea of rehab in place of jail for minor criminal offences is a pretty good idea but why exclude men?

I don't want to register to read it all but can someone fill me in briefly? I think rehab is ideal over jail for things such as drug offenses but what do we consider a "serious crime?" Also, why is it only women getting this alternative and not just any person? Does it have to do with jobs? I just want a brief insight on it since I'm at work.

For a fist bump? How far up your own ass do you have to be to file a title IX complaint for an autistic man asking for a fist bump? How could the ones who passed this law not realize snobby feminsts will weaponize it?

Definitely doesn't make that infamous wage gap statistic look any better. The term should be the "earnings gap" and it should be noted that many people, especially younger ones, seem to prefer a better work-life balance. There's nothing wrong with that either. But I know a few people personally (all women in my case) who preach the wage gap and the injustice of it all but work less than 20 hours a week and one of them not at all. Men and women both have their own advantages and disadvantages. Of…

She didn't outright say those criticizing Kylie Jenner are sexist. I see where you're coming from. However, it's clear to me that this tweet is aimed toward the idea of systemic sexism which is all a part of the patriarchy. Her message is obvious so I can see where they are coming from too. I would say that the response would be guilty of, if anything, drawing to a conclusion. Let's be honest, it doesn't take a mind reader to know that the one who tweeted this was obviously a third wave intersec…

A lot of comments s here talk about how it's not the same procedure and they're right. I think what the point is is that they could pass laws against genital mutilation in general rather than just passing laws for women. What can also be brought up is women's prisons being abolished. That's great. I think the whole system is flawed and we need to practice rehabilitation among other options instead of throwing people that commit non violent crimes in prison for years. But why just women who make …

😂 you're not wrong. I mean there's definitely fear in talking about it. But it's something that needs to be talked about. I'm an advocate for conversation. You don't solve problems by telling people they can't discuss it. Sometimes we need to hear the things that are hard to hear.

I think a lot of good has come from the metoo movement. It was long overdue and exposed a lot of the bad men out there. That being said, there are problems with the movement like there is with everything else and they can't just ignore them. One of those problems is the exclusion of men. For the feminist movement to pride themselves so much on the idea of inclusion and then to exclude men is pretty ironic. I just read this on another site. Seems pretty ridiculous to me. I know a few men personally who are very ready to commit to a relationship and have children but the harsh reality is that women just aren't attracted to them. There's a very clear double standard here and a lot of these "studies" which are often times just surveys given out to students in a class at some university are being posted by these wildly PC journalists to come off as science.
