I bought her out. She was supposed to keep it but a month out she simply decided that she wouldn’t which meant the kids might have to transition to TWO different new homes. I lived that horrible day almost 8 years ago. It felt awful how her attitude and demeanor just made my children so disposable. Mentally I can see now she was so checked out it was just ticking a box for real but I have thought of that pain many times. This many years later I know it had a defining moment type event in my children’s lives but it’s been whitewashed to some extent. Just how kids process emotional events I guess.

She could want a Unicorn ranch too it doesn’t matter until the judge says otherwise. Echo above get a good lawyer and don’t settle for standard parenting time get your equal share of parenting time. GET A GOOD LAWYER.

Retired Military (was Mil married to Mil) at the time of my divorce I’d already started retirement process but since I was the M even though she was the AD Spouse she could’ve had standard custody, elected for less and then I fought for two years to get straight 50/50. A lot will have to do with risk of deployments giving the non-M non-AD spouse the leg up on anyone M/AD in terms of custody.
