Pickup works on everyone. A great way to get started is to practice the skills you are not good at on someone you aren't attracted to. Hook and release.

If you have pickup skills, that implies you practice more than one week a year. Pride week isn't like Halloween. It's not the one night of year when gay people can come out of their closets to walk the earth. We're going to go to our own bars and clubs for pride because it's not just a party to announce how gay we are. It's also a celebration of the community that supports us.

I can confirm, it works the same way with dudes. Really, it just comes down to when one person wants a relationship and you don't communicate it well enough that you're not interested in anything monogamous.

All of the comments: So much angst. Not all of this is good advice for everyone. We're not all the same and we won't be able to all use the same techniques (Just as how there is no magic pickup line that works on every woman). That's why we go out and practice. You've got to figure out what works for you, so you can ignore the advice that doesn't.

The red part is probably the best advice here. The color red makes you more attractive looking. As long as you can pull off your outfit and get into the places you are going, you'll do well. You just don't want to get rejected from entering a club because of how you look.

Quite a few, from what I've gathered. Everyone has something to learn. :D

The dirt under the fingernails example is a perfect neg. The reason why people object to the whole concept of a neg is that their only experience with negging is some frat boy who thinks he's hot shit because he watched a few episodes of The Pickup Artist on MTV and proceeds to tell a girl she looks slutty. Negging is advanced material for pickup artists. Too many people do it wrong completely wrong. Professional PUAs have gradually moved away from it, not because it doesn't work, but because it…

Heheheh You made me realize that my fwb tried that exact one on me last week. "My ex had a bigger penis". I couldn't even begin to care. All I could think was, "You're sleeping with me, not him."
/r/seduction14/01/13 12:22 AM

You'd want to do that from the start. It should almost be like a friendship, where he becomes aware of your habit of finding new sexual partners on a regular basis. Then, let him sleep with you. Finally, tell him you want to keep having sex, no strings attached. The key is that he has to know that how things are before he gets too invested. I made this mistake once. You may hear that guys want nothing but sex, but you'd be surprised how whiny they get when they realize you don't want a full-on r…

You hit on a key point here: people want to be with other people who are having fun. If you look like you're enjoying yourself and don't mind sharing the good times, things will go well for you.

Sometimes guys think I am straight. When they do, I just remember that there's nothing wrong with being straight, and make exaggerated claims about how not-gay I am. Another option that works for me is, with a wink, to say, "There's only one way to find out."

I stand by my original statement. Kino, teasing, and most other PUA skills work on everyone. Sure, you have to adapt them a little bit from person to person, but the same basic principals still apply.

If it works on a woman, it will work on a man (I started learning when I was still in the closet practicing on gals).

It depends on the person, but generally you can assume that lesbians are never going to be attracted to you. There may be a few bisexuals masquerading as lesbians, but usually it's the other way around. My suggestion is to instead use her as social proof on any of her friends who could be interested.

Nice job! Not everyone will be lucky enough to just enter a gay club and immediately meet someone with fabulous wingman powers. It sounds more like Chad and your own skills were what made the difference, rather than location.

Alpha and gay does not imply feminine. I know plenty of alpha gay men who are more masculine than most straight men. Otherwise, I agree with everything you say.
/r/seduction12/06/12 12:28 AM

Yep. That sounds like a stereotype to me. Gay guys who are out of the closet are a subset of the gay community who have enough confidence and self worth to share something with the world that could alienate friends and family. This may include paying attention to when people won't be accepting (So you don't run into stuff like this). When you include closeted gays, you end up with a group as diverse as any other "normal" group of people.

Fag is not an appropriate way to describe anyone. Some gay guys are flamboyant and some are not. There's nothing wrong with being either.

Nice hands are manicured and don't have dark colored hairs on the knuckles. The way you move them should be fluid and purposeful. Imagine a pianist performing at a recital. The actual size of your hands doesn't matter as long as you don't have Johnny Benchian fingers.

Sometimes it is as easy as just asking someone for sex. It's usually not hard to pick those guys out of a crowd too. Something like 10% of gay guys have 90% of the sex (I don't remember the exact numbers). If you want to hook up with any of the rest of them, you have to get past the stigma of possibly being a man whore. It is a huge benefit to know what my target is thinking. I started learning pickup on women and could rarely figure out what they were thinking. I mostly just went off of externa…

The devil's in the details. Sure, any two dudes usually won't mind getting off. Would you want to have a dick in your ass? Just because I'm gay, it doesn't mean I want to. When you meet a gay guy, you can't always tell if they're a top or bottom. If you get home and find out that that the two of you are not compatible, all you're getting, if anything, is a hand job. So you'd think we should just advertise this preference. There are ways to do this, such as the hanky code, but this also has an im…

I've looked at Craigslist a little, but the quality was a bit too low for my standards. It's a great place to meet completely closeted guys who want something on the down low, really old guys and queens, but I haven't had a lot of luck finding many "normal" gay guys there. I think this is mostly because it's too hard to figure that much out about someone from just a couple of lines.

Actually, I understand how the guy felt. It's a little bit out of line to just hug people from behind without even looking them in the eyes first, regardless of sexuality. His reaction was a bit much though.

"Yeah, but not as much as what happened this one time...." By the sounds of it, those women are just making up an excuse to talk to you. Say a few sentences and then change the subject to something situational, or use it as a lead to tell a fun story. You've already got them interested. Just seal the deal.

You want to present yourself as the sort of person who has things going on and doesn't need the validation of others to have a good time. You don't need a reply because you're too busy doing awesome shit with other people.

Although, not a complete blowout, this was probably my most embarrassing rejection moment: I went to the at a gay club (that is usually filled with straight guys trying to meet women who just want to dance) with a few friends and ended up dancing with a random guy. My eyes were starting to get dry, so I excused myself to the bathroom to take out my contacts (I go without them all the time). When I walk back, the guy I was dancing with was at the bar waiting to order a drink. I walked up and wrap…

I've been there. It's hard, but it gets better with time. We're here for you. This sort of thing is frustrating and infuriating. See a therapist if you can afford it. Also, don't slack at the gym. Exercise is the best way to keep your mind off of this kind of thing.

I think flair is a nice way to recognize people who have been an active member of Seddit for a while. They don't have to always be right, but with enough experience their advice should be better than most of the rest. It should make for a nice way for new members to pick out the better posters who are not mods. With that said, I wouldn't go crazy with flair. If too many varieties of flair start popping up, people won't have any clue what they mean and will ignore them.

I heard that too. However, most of the newer research has suggested that eating more meals still equates to the same results. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19943985 Take a look at leangains while you're doing research. There are advantages to eating once per day.
/r/seduction18/10/11 01:17 AM

If you have a part of your mind that says, "Whaaaaaa! I couldn't never give up eating [junk food of your choice].", you're full of shit. Eating is just another bodily function, in the same category as shitting and breathing. All you really need is what's healthy; good food, clean air and an empty rectum.
/r/seduction18/10/11 01:04 AM
2

As long as you keep your calorie intake at the same level, eating one meal per day is fine. Your body can store up to approximately 3000 calories as glycogen in your liver that you can run off of for the rest of the day (And can convert carbohydrates into stored glycogen). If that runs out, your body will start to go ketonic and burn fat. Eating virtually nothing once per day on the other hand... not good.

You do link moments of high emotion to the people you have with you, especially people touching you. However, if that is a bad emotion, it will be associated with you also. That makes this a small gamble. It pays off huge if she's scared and overall has a good time. If she is truly, scared to the point of crying, she will associate that fear with you.

All of those groups are hairy. Bears are usually just fat. You start to become a wolf if you're in better shape than a bear. Otters tend to have the body of a swimmer, but with chest hair. They're not as skinny as a twink, and certainly not as flamboyant. Honey badger don't give a shit what he looks like.
/r/seduction07/10/11 10:36 PM

I've never heard of a a gay group called wolverines. Otters are skinny bears. Wolves are typically older bears with medium muscle and less fat.

I have a loft. My bed is right next to the half wall that drops into my living room. Right below that part of the wallis where I've placed a giant bean bag cushion. If I can get a guy upstairs, I can just jump off of my bed and down a floor to the bean bag. Without fail, every time, they will hop on my bed and peer down to see if I'm alright. Then I just head upstairs and they're excited and on my bed.

If someone says something to you and you are actually offended by it, they're not negging you. Negs should be about things that you know someone won't be offended by. You tease them about things that don't matter to them. The slut defense is too strong to ever make a good neg.

Here's my perspective on this, coming from the other side of the fence: 1. There are hot girls there This depends on the bar, just like any other place. In my home town, there is a "gay" bar that is known for being 80% straight people. Enough straight guys got the idea to go there to pick up straight girls that gay people no longer want to go there. The quality of the pickings for everyone has decreased because of this. My point with this is, sure, go to a gay bar every once and a while. Most of…

Generally the goal of most PUAs going to gay bars is to learn what it feels like to have men hitting on you, not to try to pick someone up. I wouldn't encourage trying to pick up women in a gay bar as a regular activity for the whole community. Firstly, many bars become very unfriendly (To the point of throwing you out) when they find out that you're straight and just there to try to meet women. Secondly, if there was a place where you are most likely to accidentally take home a woman with a pen…

I did this with another PUA I met through seddit before I moved. It worked out pretty well, and we both improved our game. There's nothing that says you can't practice kino on each other. Kino makes everyone feel more comfortable around you, not just women. Interestingly enough, people are less likely to act like they are thinking, "What the hell is this faggot doing talking to me", when I've touched their elbow or back before starting a conversation.

Seddit is useful for everyone. Seduction techniques work on everyone. Although an attractive woman may not have to try as hard to find a boyfriend, they may still have difficulties finding a boyfriend that they actually enjoy being around. You said it yourself. You are not usually looking for a relationship. Imagine if you met a woman who was so intriguing that you couldn't help but want to marry her on the spot. A good enough female pickup artist could make you feel that way. Also, if you'll go…

It sounds to me like he feels like he can have you any time he wants. This is going to greatly reduce his attraction towards you. Also, I personally make a point to spell everything correctly and use proper punctuation and abbreviate nothing whenever I send any text messages. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. I only fail at this after I have had so much to drink that I blacked out. If your friend was capable of an erection, he might also be able to type properly.
/r/seduction08/08/11 11:19 PM
2

This is it. If you just ignore them and be a boring slob, you're never going to attract the person you're after. You have to make yourself the life of the party. Everyone should be having a better time because you are around. They'll want to be with you and not the other way around.

Persistence works. I've gone home with guys just because they kept flirting with me, even though they normally wouldn't be up to par with my standards.

You don't have to drink to go out. Some bars are even nice enough to waive the admission price and cost of non-alcoholic drinks if you're the DD for your group. Staying sober doesn't keep you from going anywhere.

I'd have liked to have commented when this was fresh, but better late than never. I did a short advice piece a while back. Otherwise, there isn't a whole lot of advice here for gay men.

I've tried this approach before. My desire to masturbate just went away entirely after the initial two weeks. I never did get any kicks from porn though. My imagination is far better than anything two guys on a computer monitor can do.

Honey, everybody is attractive to at least one person out there. People are messed up enough to like anything. You may not fit your own standards of beauty, but the way you've described this guy, you fit his. Having friends won't help you when you're around someone you have a crush on. Nothing you've described says he doesn't like you. Social skills can fly out the window when your heart is pounding and you don't know what you're doing.

I did this sort of thing a lot when I was closeted just to maintain the appearance of being straight, so I'm comfortable touching anyone. It doesn't turn me on at all, but it's fun to see what you can get away with.

That is exactly what happened. It was only up there for a few hours. I was okay with it because now at the very least people can search Reddit for "gay pickup" and come up with something useful instead of just shit like this.

Well. I'm a gay guy. I was introduced to pickup by my roommate, who gave me a copy of Magic Bullets, before I came out of the closet. After giving me a week to read through it, he started dragging me to clubs. Although going out with him to meet women didn't do a whole lot for my sex life, it did do wonders for my confidence. It's probably better not to ask this question. It's a better idea to focus on the things that you can actually do to attract someone of the opposite sex rather than the things they think they want. It won't get you anywhere.

I can't remember where exactly, but I saw a study that said testosterone peaks at 150% normal level approximately 7 days after you last masturbated or had sex. After that point, it starts to drop back to normal. Someone really careful and dedicated could probably even integrate that into a workout regime as a form of a natural steroid. Edit: Spelling

Great question! Sure, getting laid is easy. Finding someone who isn't a total slut who will have sex with you can be. Many guys are willing to sleep with anything that moves. That is the most publicly visible portion of the community. A large percentage (I've seen it estimated as high as 50%) rarely have sex. When you average it out, gay guys have just as few sexual partners as straight men. Pickup technique is helpful for those who want to get with guys who won't normally sleep around. It's als…
