I feel bad for the people who pull out loans and do this.

This is all horse shit. It over simplifies attraction and is blatantly sexist. Emotions and physical attraction are not mutually exclusive. Having your life together and being confident means nothing when you're surrounded by members of a culture that you don't understand. Men can need emotional arousal just as much as any woman. Females can operate strictly on physical attraction just as much as a sleazy dude can. Break out of this idea that men and women are so different and you'll stop approa…

What's beautiful about this reply is that the principles are easily generalized to other areas of life. Clinical and counseling psychology practically preaches this way of being to clients and sufferers of mental maladies. When I came across the concepts of stability of the self within impermant environments, it was through eastern philosophy asks spiritual thought. Buddhism and its sects focus on mindfulness and acceptance, which are at the core of autonomy and "outcome independence."

Being a "good storyteller" doesn't give you an interesting personality. Knowing how to communicate in a way that is engaging is the important piece here. The term "phraseology" to my understanding means having a large vocabulary and knowing how to use it in a variety of situations to captivate the listener and engage them emotionally. There are entire books, theories, disciplines, research, etc... describing the communication techniques involved in storytelling.

Being able to use words effectively means you don't have to enlarge things or speak loudly to get your point across.

Which is what many meaningful and healthy relationships stem from, friendship.

If this isn't your community, go elsewhere. There was a generalizable element to this post. If you can't look past your values to appreciate that, then go somewhere where your own values may be echoed. I hear Christian Mingle is getting pretty big.

Define "quality." You'll find that most people's definition shifts due to their values. One thing that hasn't changed here is the misogyny. When I first started reading it was directed at "friend zoning" girls. Now it's directed at girls who are members of the hook up culture. What this demonstrates is a lack of understanding/respect for women from both perspectives. Your use of the word quality plays into this.

You don't have to bang them. OP could very well have kept going on dates/establish a relationship/whatever. Sex was his goal and he achieved it through assertiveness. Your criticism of people's vales is unhelpful as it fails to recognize the importance of the OP's message. You can get what you want by communicating it openly, confidently, and in the appropriate context.

What I appreciate about yor post is that it provides a disclaimer about your goal, which is sex. I think it was well done, however I agree with (what i think is) the main point of the commenter above. The things you learned from your experiences on Timder work on Tinder because of the nature of the app. Generalizing your techniques for someone to use in a different setting may prove difficult due to the context. I think your methods of forward, honest, and proactive behavior are effective, howev…

I think the point of this is for OP to seek self improvement for the purpose of bettering himself, not just for more relationships. This dude's neg self talk will probably permeate in his interactions with others unless he learns how to cope with it.

If you enjoy hanging out with impersonal douchebags who lack social skill, for sure. For all those seeking meaningful relationship, try being open and receptive to others.

This anecdote demonstrates the importance of making true friends, not just for social benefit, but for enrichment of one's life as a whole. Sorry to hear about your experience, but im glad you were able to learn how to see who really had your back when it mattered.

I can hear the dicks being sucked from here. "Ive got you bro. I see your potential. Let me pull you up." Seriously sounds like the start to a gay porn. edit: how many guys were on top when you started on the bottom?

What's that? The sound of 12 dudes jerking eachother's egos off onna Saturday night. If I want to spend time with women, I go out of my way to meet women. Having brocial support may provide the confidence that some people need to feel comfortable, but sausage fests tend to be just that, sausage fests.

Not sure how much I believe that last part. I had multiple prospects when I was whacking it 3-5 times a day. I've definitely toned down the masturbation, but it doesn't seem to have affected my interactions with women one way or the other. I do appreciate Skyrim over meaningless sex, for sure though haha

Let's be real, just because you have insecurities doesn't mean others have to. Some people don't care what you and people like you think, so slim, fit, saggy, or tight, they will be satisfied with themselves regardless. It's always interesting to see others project their own values/insecurities/whatever onto others. It demonstrates a real lack of maturity, or inability to understand another's perspective and how it may be different from their own. You might figure it out one day, but let's be re…

I'm in my early twenties and I wish more people my age valued these traits in the "dating scene." Would you say that dating within your age group gets easier as you get older? I guess I have this hope that more people will think like you some day, but I just don't know.

Thanks for the lengthy response, but whatever you feel you learned in psych and comms 101 is not enough to provide legitimacy to your statements and techniques. Learning how to communicate with the opposite sex and feigning disinterest in someone in order to build their interest are two different things. The former involves gaining new information to be used at a later time. The latter is manipulation of someone's perception of you so that they feel they must alter their behavior in order to cap…

Because this is a male dominated subreddit and the guy claiming to get the most numbers/kisses/fucks is the one with the most valid opinion. Even now, Scottishredpill appears to be receiving a blow job from sniperhiding. This shit works!

I am of the opinion that these techniques will work on certain individuals, men and women. I think with the involvement of alcohol, getting away with these actions would be pretty easy and effective. You make valid points about the importance of a woman's perspective. I think the disagreement lies in the perceived end goal of the seduction. It sounds like the methods suggested above are for individuals, mainly men, looking for a sexual partner. That's cool, but IMO the only people who would fall…

I think Tywin Lanaster was referring to someone who is going around proclaiming their greatness simply in words. This post is more of a self reflection and is to be followed up by action. The important part is not that he's saying that he is the prize, but that he realizes his potential as an individual and strives to be the best that he can.

If you can accept that she may not be into you, then you can move forward without the anxiety/ fear towards being rejected. It is this confidence that the frat boy in this story lacked. The idea is that she may or may not be into you, but that is not something you'll ever know until you approach her in an open and confident manner. Ladies don't like a bitch.

I understand your desire to have a separate sub for strictly pick up. Keeping it exclusive to strictly members of lairs would severely limit it's accessibility to people who can really benefit from it, however. Some of us just like to lurk and learn.

What I heard was," the people I associate with and I are not offended by this, so shut the fuck up." Might be the minority in me, but this ignorance is a huge reminder of how much more work needs to be done.

It's become so popular to do that it may have permanently ingrained within the reddit culture. It is annoying though. Wtf does grammar nazism contribute to anything?

We fill roles all day long in our jobs, with our friends, with our families. The roles we play when lookin for partners, sexual or romantic, are one of the many, completely normal roles that we play in life.

Hey, that's okay. Now that you have identified the unhelpful feeling, try and follow the thought process that comes along with it. Once you can envision the thoughts that create the fear, then you can change your negative self talk. Knowing your fears is half the battle :)
