Considering that: 1) the heaviest factory jobs (mainly metallurgy and woodwork) were done by men 2) during the industrial revolution women mainly worked in wool/tessile factories 3) when kids worked, it was chimneysweepers and other jobs that adult men couldn't do I'd say that men still faced the brunt of factory injuries and death, not women and children.

You completely missed the point of the post. He is showing how much of Putin's critics go exclusively for his body. When even famous politicians and influencers focus on Putin's body, instead of what he is actually accomplishing (ruined Russia's economy, united the EU, more countries willing to enter NATO, ecc...) they resort to childish and petty insults. I feel it's pretty telling.

One thing (among the many other ones) is that not only these people keep exclusively insulting the body of Putin, but aren't even creative. There is literally 2 examples that don't go toward the penis size. I find embarassing that these people cannot find a decent way to criticise Putin's action and exclusively resort to petty, aged and frankly very boring insults.

Yeah, honestly this reads like a girl that is ashamed of herself, that need help. But, the way it's written, she seems quicker to judge the men she slept with as "taking advance of her", while almost dodging any responsibilities (it takes two to not take precautions against STIs and unwanted pregnancies). So I am torn too in judging her. She definitely won't get the correct help that she need from TwoX, tho, that's for sure.

No, it's asking/agreeing to eat the cake, then decide you never wanted the cake and then accuse who gave you cake that they forced you to eat it.

OK now I get where you were getting at. They see two men being close and supportive and can only see it through the lens of romantic love, even if it's explicitly not that. Yes, exacly that. I've long avoided women writing gay male love stories. They tend to see it as a power imbalance, like Frodo and Sam, rather than equals overcoming their difference, like Gimli and Legolas. (Even though people overcoming their difference is how Tolkien wrote almost all of his lovers.) I will admit, I have nev…

The problem is that they never focus on actual potential gay couples, like Gimli and Legolas. The reason they choose Frodo and Sam is because in the books (and in the movies, which for a long while were the only way for many people to consume LOTR), these two very close friends are constantly shown supporting each other and share very important moments, where they both help the other one overcome hard challenges (think even just about Sam's beautiful final speech after the Ring fell in the lava)…

I think that one other reason for the idea of "two men hug, they gay" is the constant fetishization of homosexual men. A fetishization that keeps on creeping on every istance of brotherhood and "bromance", where two men cannot be close friends without having romantic feelings for each other (see the constant "headcanon" where people pair Frodo and Sam. An example is this shitty article: https://www.polygon.com/lord-of-the-rings/22550950/sam-frodo-queer-romance-lord-of-the-rings-tolkien-quotes). …

That's not a compelling narrative, since it equates a minuscule percentage of men with all the other average Joes that do not have the sale privileges. The fact that it gets brought up only show how much feminism is much more interested in creating a power balance in favore of women than an egalitarian society.

100% this. Not joking, the most intimate thing I am looking forward is the cuddling, not the sex. And I am not asexual or anything like that. I just want closure and love.

Perfectly put. While not exactly linked to intimate intercourse, what I hope the most is to find a woman that loves me for who I am, mainly personality whise (I am not the best looking man, but I know I can at least get in better shape). This is definitely the biggest hope for many men: finding someone that loves you for you. This is also why the stereotipical "you have to change for me" is often met with frustration, since men hope that they don't have to change themselves for someone else. Fin…

I'd like to add that often in these kind of movies, there is a strong differenze in what men have to swallow in order to make the ladies fall in love with them. For example, in "How to lose a guy in 10 days", both the main charachters have to make the other one fall in love in 10 days and, in the case of Kate Hudson, she also has to make him leave her. Matthew McConaughey courts her classically, bringig her on dates and cooking great meals, while Kate Hudson does her worst to make him gate her, …

I mean, there is still some phisical contact, like cuddling, that I don't want from a friend or roommate, but from a partner. Also, I think that the connection that you can establish with a romantic partner is going to be deeper than the relationships with at least roommates. I know that deep friendships can almost be called "romances" when the two (or more) friends are really in synch and basically read each other's mind, but It's still a different relationship. I don't know how to put into wor…

I am, like you, 26 and virgin. I don't feel shame about it. I found that focusing on my goals and my hobbies helps a lot, since I am working on myself FOR myself. I am also somewhat socially awkward and I never really tried dating, other than half-hartedly using Tinder. That said, the thing that bothers me is the lack of companionship that a romantic relationship can give me. I think that the sexual appeal in a relationship, while certainly important, is only a part of it, and not even that big …

To be honest, I really wouldn't want to be a trans person as of now. Seeing mydysphoria and my problems used only to further wokenism and feminism in such hypocritical and offensive manners definitely wouldn't make me feel more accepted by society...

It's only relatively linked, but I remember reading a comment in r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates about the rising bias against cis gay men, accusing them of misoginy (the hirony...) and a bunch of comments answering that as of now, the hot topic for woke tokenism is trans people, not homosexual. And some (sadly probably right) said that there is a possibility that when a new potential woke token will rise, the same will/could happen to trans people. Honestly, as much as men have it rough being seen as t…

God, he is so full of himself. You can easily feel how superior he considers himself, all while condescendingly saying that men that felt silenced, disempowered and alienated will become misogynistic because they seek a place where they can feel accepted. Disgusting.

1,704 were killed by a mother acting alone. That represents only 0.12% of the1,452,099 children who are neglected by their mother alone. For fathers, who by themselves neglected 661,129 children, they killed 0.13% (859). The dumbass writer decide to say that fathers kill more children based on the percentage. 0.13% of 661,129 is lower (859) than the 0.12% of 1,452,099 (1,704). This obtuse individual decided that the percentage was to be the focus, not, yow know, the actual nuber.

I really don't think it was just the sex witholding. Reading that the queen started by emasculating men, I wouldn't be surprised if men were receiving grief and abuse daily from women for not joining the army, creating an even greater peer pressure.

Yeah, I always doubted that lack of sex was a real reason for mass shootings/killing sprees, exactly like videogames aren't the cause. I feel that this idea might come from psychologists more interested in either demonizing incels and single sexless men or trying to enter in the feminist movement graces by showing that men are such sexual and violent creatures that the lack of sex results in violent outbursts. Now, I know that mine is an anecdotal and personal proof, but I am a 26 y/o KV. I am n…

I think that this comment is the result of years of feminism completely monopolizing and exploiting victimization tactics. When you constantly scream that women are victims and men perpetrators, you will cultivate "We have it worse" reactions from your followers towards any mention of male issues.

I have seen women beign victim blamed, usually in rape cases. Do you want to know a fun fact? It's not only men that victim blame. I have seen a lot of women doing the exact same thing, saying the usual words:"she sould have dressed more conservatively" and all the other iteractions. It's not "more men or more women" that victim blame. It's shitty people that victim blame. In no way, shape or form victim blaming is peculiar to one gender. Edit. I want to say that victim blaming is done equally e…

They don't like the idea because they are poor future planners. They can't see how their solutions don't fix the core problems. I'm not sure that's the reason. It's similar to when a racist politician doesn't actually resolve "immigrants problems". They would lose propaganda ammunitions.

Like women-only train carriages in India and Japan. There, though, sexual harrasment on public transport is known to be a problem, enough to become a stereotype often used in mangas.

Even if those narratives are false, the effects are very real. And frankly, I can't blame women who are misguided by those narratives. Just like how screaming "toxic masculinity" causes men to have self-esteem issues, screaming "predatory behaviour" causes women to experience trust issues. Even though it looks like whataboutism to admit it, I think women are also the victims of this narrative just like men. Trust issues between men and women will hurt women as well as men, even if those trust is…

A lot of times when there are articles or interviews about famous people who have a majority men audience, there is always this question or statement that pisses me off. "Why do you think you have a moslty male audience? what can you do to increase female interst?" or even worse " Person xy does gaming videos on his 1 million subscriber youtube channel, with a majority of male as an audience by the way." Feminism, at least for the last 10-15 years, doesn't "oppose the system" per se. Right now, feminism is focusin on changing the role of women in society without considering the other half of the population. Whenever male issues are brought up to feminists, hoping for support, the answer is often "It's not a feminist issue, men should create their own movement and change it, don't expect us to do all the work, etc..." but then, when male right movements or support groups are created, the same fem…

Honestly I dn't know, maybe is simply something you don't want in a partner, which, in my opinion, is ok, as long as you express your preferences in a respectful way, without humiliating the person you are talking to. After all, I think that is perfectly fine to have preferences in a relationship, and if there are women that consider a deal breaker watching porn/masturbating, I'd say that you can consider a deal breaker somebody which sexualises themselves on social media. I don't know if there …

I don't think that sexualising yourself is good or bad. As long as nobody is being hurt in any way I'd say it's ok. The problem rises when you apply hypocrisy to it, saying that men are pigs enjoying your sexualisation when women are liberating and empowering thmselves when enjoying sexualised men. You are right in saying that men sexualising themselves are very rare and I don't really know why, since I don't use Onlifans or TikTok. I'd say that there are a few possible causes, two of them being…

That Is not the point I was making. I am not talking about personal image, but I am referring to the use of sexual imagery in commercials and publicity. In my opinion, everybody should be free to dress how they prefer, without fearing judgement. I don't want to start considerino the need of validation, that was not my point and I really dislike that argument, since ignores personal freedom and responsibilities over out choiches. Dude, if he asked, he needed to. u/LoFiGai, it's because, as u/Almighty_Bidoof424 said, sex sells, therefore is used to promote even lower quality products. It's very common, both towards men and women. Think about the perfume commercials. Usually they make little sense, but you'll always see a handsome man and a beautiful woman, since one of the objective is to make people think they'll be like the models if thy buy and use the perfume.

Also, in the entire world history, women always worked, in a way or another. Today feminism tries to not portray domestic work as work. Being a stay at home parent is a type of work, albeit very different from an office one or a more phisical one. That said, let's remember how women worked in the textile industry, in the fields, wherever they could. Sure, you can say that the office work was male dominated for a long time, but people forget that office work was linked to higher education that a …

I can't imagine anyone ever looking at a man and thinking 'he has a family at home which may require too much of his attention so he's not right for this promotion'. But I could absolutely see it happening with a woman. Couldn't you? You are right. And it's an archaic concept. I think that both parents should have the paid time to stay at home with their newborn. The idea that a woman may not be promoted/considered for a position with more responsibilities is completely linked to the pregnancy a…
