Sold mine and moved out one year ago today. Made everything simple and clean (but sure it’s sad). I’ll be buying another property on my own (again) in 2026.

Please listen to us. Let her go and show your boys what resilience looks like.

I set my iPhone to stop showing pictures of her. I moved out and put anything with her in a sad box. I don’t talk to her. I spend every minute of my day doing something. I do not drink or sit around idle. I made a goal to date three women. I picked one and we’re having the time of our lives together.

I found this to be true. That sub is not co-ed. It has 154k members, mostly women ranting. When a man chimes in, they get destroyed by the hive. This men’s sub has 29k members where we lift each other up and help each other out. You have no idea how much you all have helped me!!! The Divorce_Women sub only has 10k members. It’s just wrong and the moderators don’t care. I wish the women would use the other sub if they want to rant to women. I won’t judge, but it seems as if they are too jacked up…

My ex filed 15 months ago. I moved out 9 months ago. Of course her shit didn’t stink and so I went the through the phases I had to go through. Now I’ve completely flipped the script and you can too fellas. Fuck her. Life is good. Living my best life. Lots of women looking for a guy who knows what a shit show looks like. Zero tolerance for BS now.

When everyone seems to be overthinking everything, I enjoy these caveman analogies. The flip side of this one is that women who survived were those who jumped ship to mate with a different male.

I don’t need a parade. Just asked my daughter to say “Thanks Dad” from time to time and it lights me up every time! The ex was a lost cause. The burnout tanked my marriage of 28 years. 15 months separated, 3 months since divorce finalized and sharing with you guys that there is abundant joy out here.

I made an analog “sad box” and put anything with her in there for “later” Then I set my iPhone to stop showing her in those pics w/o deleting them. Every family photo since 2008 backed up in hard drives matched with a family iPhotos in the cloud that the kids could see if they wanted.

My youngest 23 still lives with my ex and I was worried about this too. What has worked great after a few attempts, is regular dinner or something with just both of them and me. When the siblings are together with me, I insist they respect their mom (like I always have) and the bond gets better and better because they’re helping each other process without taking sides. Just talked to my youngest today, and our relationship is trending. With integrity, they will see the light.

Women are emotional. It is their primary filter for life. They can’t help it that’s who they are. A happy woman understands this and understands her emotional filter for everything will from time to time require a partner whose primary filter is emotionless. Women support each other emotionally. If a woman is being honest, she’ll tell her girlfriend the emotionless truth when she needs to hear it. When men do this (which is exactly what they are programmed to do) they are discarded. Therefore, I…

Then let her go every day like your life depends on it because it does. You do you full speed ahead and new women will notice and replace all of the mental garbage with your ex.

One day I set my iPhone to stop showing me my ex and that was magical. After I was ready, after I went down all the rabbit holes, that mental space has now been replaced with sweet texts from women who like me. New selfies with new women who are fun. This did not happen during separation. Get all the way divorced ASAP. When you meet a new girl, tell her you’re all the way divorced. That is 100x more attractive to them than a guy scrolling through memories of his ex.

You didn’t mention how long you’ve been divorced? > a year = maybe. < a year = no way. Also love the way your therapist has a euphemism for “don’t cock block yourself.”

There are men here who have walked a mile in your shoes. You’ve got this and there are better days ahead. Fast forward to finalize divorce ASAP.

This is the only thing I questioned in front of the judge. Judge said too bad, so sad get over it.

Brilliant update mate. I love Month 1-3. 3-5. It’s really hard to see what you’ve accomplished when you’re in the shit. For me, I looked back at the first 6 months and called it Phase One. Didn’t know what I had accomplished until I was through it. Phase Two: Brand New King size bed with a waiting list.

Brother I’m 54 and having the time of my life. Just need to start ripping bandaids off and don’t stop until you see the light at the end of the tunnel. What you described is not living your best life.

One of my recent regrets. It was suggested the first day on this thread and I waited too long to buy it.

Wait, did you buy my house? My ex did the same after 28 / 33 together. OP you are not a bad person and it’s not your job to understand why she doesn’t love you anymore. You are not alone if you have 5 kids and 5 grandkids. That makes you a legend!

My half of the fees were $396.72. Plus $5 for a notary at UPS Store. One court date on Zoom.

You know what they say about why divorces are so expensive? Because they’re worth it.

After 28 years together. No regrets. Anyone can say I was too generous, but they have the luxury of being on the sidelines. I would not change a thing. We did it without lawyers for about $850.00 in Illinois. We separated. We split millions in assets ourselves (sometimes 60/40 in her favor). Kids are adults. Four months out now. Ask me again in a year. Good luck.
