Not disagreeing with any of that. Most people have become dogmatic; not all. I don't immediatly make that assumption with people that sound like they have nuanced takes on issues. Otherwise I'd just be contributing to the very problem I described.

It's a matter of reciprocation. Most women would see pleasing the man as a courtesy if their partner cared to please them. I've been with plenty of women who have loveeeed to please me (sometimes more than I even want). Getting blown everyday does not have a reciprocal element towards your partner unless your partner specifically derives significant pleasure from doing that. And yes, women don't owe men sex. Men don't owe women sex either. No gender owes their own or the opposite gender sex.

How about this reason - I think it's basic courtesy and respect to care about how your partner feels. I don't need some complicated evolutionary explanation to rebute your points. Evolution explains why we have inherited certain traits (many of which don't translate well to the modern world), it does not explain how we should behave.

Could you reiterate why the argument is important in the first place. Does it really matter if evolution did not select traits requiring females to orgasm for fertilisation? How does that defeat the argument that you should care about your partner and work towards mutual sexual satisfaction?

Yup, exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Agreed - I think the increasing polarization and decisiveness we are facing will only get worse in the future as people become more distant, hostile and tribalistic. I'm convinced it will rise to be one of the biggest problems of the future - potentially even dangerous enough to trigger armed conflict.

You are right, his post is quite vague and could be interpreted more generously in his favor. However, he did mention in a comment reply here that he supposedly shared his intentions to continue seeing the people he was chatting to. He claims that this intention was genuine but dissipated immediately after sex. That excuse doesn't sound too convincing in my opinion.

Completely unhinged ramblings. FYI - male orgasm is not necessary for the 'survival of the species' (as if that's even relevant to everyday questions of sexual satisfaction). I hate that I've been forced to go into detail, but know you'll argue with me if I don't. Pre-cum contains sperm. Imagine the hypothetical roles were switched and women came faster than men, how would you feel if your partner pulled your dick out before you had orgasmmed and began treating you like shit because your biologi…

I agree there's a distinction. I'd consider having sex and immediately ghosting to be immoral, however. Especially where they had the expectation of a continued relationship. Asshole behavior is blasting music in public. Immoral behavior is emotionally manipulating people then further exacerbating the suffering by intentionally providing no closure.

Adding on to this, there's a lot of overlap between people who share certain political positions. For instance, using your analogy, if someone is against abortions it's a safe bet that they also hold broader religious and conservative views. In this day and age, knowing one or two of a person's political positions is usually enough to guess 90%+ of their political positions.

I like homebrewing (currently have a saison and IPA on tap) and working out too. Both appear solitary on paper but can be made more socially or at least act as avenues for friendship. Homebrewing - offer some of your beers to neighbours, join a homebrew club, go to brewing competitions, microbrewery tasting days. It's easy - just talk about brewing and beer and anyone will chat with you. I could talk about beer for hours. Working out - ask someone who looks friendly enough for a spot or just str…

Agreed. Male shallowness and jealousy is merely manifested differently. Societal conditioning relating to gender is also responsible for how we perceive how common those personality traits are among the genders. A man buying a $15,000 Rolex? Classy, refined, gentlemanly, intelligent. A women purchasing a $500 pair of designer shoes? Shallow. That's one example just to demonstrate the double standard in how we define shallowness. As a side note, I think conspicuous consumption is shallow whether …

Most people are shallow and jealous. In my experience there isn't a major discrepancy in those personality traits among the genders. The most notable difference in my opinion is how those feelings are manifested. For instance, men may get aggressive and rude towards a female for not paying them attention (a more extreme example of this is men targeting the whole female gender e.g., red-pill). That kind of behavior is, sadly, quite common among men. Yet those actions are reflective of jealousy an…

What are your hobbies? People who are dedicated and passionate will make time for those hobbies and will almost certainly be pleased to find another friend to participate in said hobbies with. Men in particular like to socialise by 'doing'. We very rarely form bonds just by talking or being in each other's presence.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
