Wasting time would be picking the wrong activity, or expecting to move like Ronaldo with the genetics of a power lifter, for example. Not gonna happen. I agree with most of what you've said here but not this. If you're only worried about competitive performance, than I would agree that it may be a waste of time for a powerlifter to train in swimming. But if you're approaching this from an aesthetic/well-rounded-functional stand point, then I don't think an all-or-nothing mentality is appropriate…

It's that + increased muscle density, vascularity, and lower body fat. And developing those "often overlooked" muscles will give your physique a more aesthetic "flow".

People take you more seriously when you do. I get way more people calling me “sir” now.

That and there are so many things the lessons from lifting carries over to. Goal setting especially. Find a routine, stick to it and see progress. The same framework can be applied to other aspects of your life. It helped me be a better student in school.

It’s impossible to guarantee that you won’t get rejected. Stop worrying about things not going your way. Be outcome independent.

I just quickly read the ToC of that book, but it seems like a good framework to start from. Timidness is a learned habit born out of an attempt to avoid conflict. By the same vein, you can learn to be more assertive/bold. It takes practice to root out timidess and learn to be bold, it's worth it because the consequences of the former are often far worse than the latter. Start with the situations in which you're able, then start to use it in other situations. You won't become assertive in a day o…

You can also start with just saying Hi to strangers, then progress to Hi how are you, then short conversations.

Reminds me of this post. David Wong talks about some "harsh truths that will make you a better person", like: The world only cares about what it can get from you You have low self esteem and hate yourself because you don't do anything What you are inside only matters because of what it makes you do. You don't hate yourself because you have low self-esteem, or because other people were mean to you. You hate yourself because you don't do anything. Not even you can just "love you for you" -- that's…

Often times when you think you've met one, you're pedestalizing. You have an idealized version of her in your head, forcing unjustified or unrealistic expectations on her and you interact with that image of her instead of the real her, which comes off as insincere. It can also be nerve wracking trying to meet those expectations. Some people say "Stop chasing Unicorns" because they aren't real, they don't exist.

Not sure where that came from, I didn't see anyone advocating for high schoolers to use steroids. That being said, they're not helpless children, most are at or near adulthood, they can make that decision for themselves.

Most people don't stay on steroids for all that long though. They run a couple cycles so they can get to their genetic potential quicker, then stop.

Huh, looks like Satoshi, not Hitoshi, Kanazawa's study was retracted and he was dismissed from the LSE. some of the assertions put forward in the blog post were flawed and would have benefited from more rigorous academic scrutiny....[and] the author ignored the basic responsibility of a scientific communicator to qualify claims made in proportion to the certainty of the evidence. -London School of Economics' internal review and disciplinary hearing Speaking as a scientist, I said "don't put too …

Girls fucking love it when they find out that I'm half-Japanese and travel a lot. I wouldn't put too much stock into psych studies.

We spend so much time building ourselves, creating that foundation, getting that degree, or even that job title, but for what? I'd say working towards financial independence is a worthwhile endeavor - building your assets up so that you have enough passive income and savings to not give a fuck about your job/boss/money/etc. How long it takes to do that is up to you. Typically, low risk/low stress route will take 30-50 years. High risk/high stress you could do it in 10-20, if not sooner.

6 months = 24 weeks. 1 lbs gain per week is a 3500 caloric surplus. That's 500 extra calories on top of your TDEE per day. 24 weeks = 24 lbs. Eat 600-700 caloric surplus per day and by the end of 24 weeks you'll have gained 29-34 lbs.

That level isn't "high" at all. It's "I've-been-lifting-for-a-year" level. Most people don't achieve it as quickly probably because they don't know what the hell they're doing. They don't emphasize progressive overload, make little to no strength gains, and eat fewer calories than they need to.

Which would be even less impressive. Again, he could've achieved that in less than a year, easily.

Tbh that looks like a year's worth of progress. He gained 30 lbs of muscle in 3 years... That's not a lot. You could do that in 6 months comfortably. You would only need to eat a daily caloric surplus of ~600 calories while lifting 1-2 hours, 2-3x a week. If I had to guess, his lifts would be ~205 bench, 275 squat, 295 deadlift.

It makes them feel threatened. You're actively trying to be better, while they aren't. Makes them realize how lazy and inferior they are. They want to drag you down to their level to equal the playing field instead of putting work in to bring themselves up. Gains Goblins.

Excessive alcohol intake can also cause low vitamin D levels in your blood. This is due to intestinal harding, preventing vit D absorption and also from having a tired liver, where vit D is processed.

Let them be the judge of whether or not you are right for them. You won't know until you try. There does seem to be an increasing amount of women that are fed up with "players/dogs" though. Try your best not to seem like one.
