And forcing me to write things down exposes the gaps in my thinking. A back hand is welcomed. The main thing that I was trying to say (at risk of getting into DEERing) is that I want to expose myself to tests… test of my frame (shit tests, etc) which I just don’t get at the moment. Regardless of whether it’s a plate, a LTR, a marriage. I

That’s not what I’m saying but I can get that is how it has been read. What I am saying is that your frame is really tested when you are in a serious relationship as is your ability to live with outcome independence and abundance. When you are spinning multiple plates and you get tested, it’s very easy to next then and not so the work.

1) the hidden calories point I have read in your OYS at least once before. Don’t make it sound like you’re surprised. Own it. “When I don’t record, I over eat”. 2) call the external motivation for what it is. You let others define your value or whether you are a success. At least you are calling out the fucking 7s or above an external motivation ie you want others to know that you are fucking someone above your SMV. You don’t need a well thought out plan just yet. You know the one dimension in y…

Honestly? The girl is irrelevant. This is about me and how I see the situation. Ie I hold back from communicating my desires because of a Madonna projection that is in my head even if she wants to be my whore. This dynamic isn’t at play here (it’s too early) but I experienced it when the little one’s mum gave birth and it was the beginning of my drunk captain phase so it is in the back of my mind. This girl is a little more innocent, very low body count, always been in long term relationships bu…

I should have said, it’s not a look I want to have. I see it as temporary for my chest. My back, sack and crack are different. As for the why? I’ve been saving my chest on and off since a young teen so the hair is thick, it’s dark, and left to its own devices would look like a carpet on my skin. Think southern Italian or Middle Eastern without the tan and three hairs per follicle. The laser is more about thinning things out by reducing the melanin in the hair over time - it’ll never turn me bald…

Amen to this! And respect to you Horns. If he is anything like me, and I suspect he is worse, then he still tells himself that the marriage ended because she broke from a good man. While all these comments are about weight, and rightfully so, the root cause is ownership. P.s. you took the measurements… posted them and then deleted them - I’ve got the notification. Just like you posed the image and deleted that.

You’re still protecting your ego. That “stomach warning” comment? That’s not honesty… that’s deflection. You don’t need to soften it for us. You need to face it for you. You work in IT, come on. There is not much I can add in addition to what has been said this trip around this weekly amnesia, except - why are you here? You are not 27% body fat. I challenged you last week to get out a measuring tape and/or post an image of your body. Are you saying you don’t look like the guy bottom right? I get it. At this stage, every other section in your OYS shouldn’t mean anything because they don’t. It’s not that IT guys are not the pinnacle of desire. Why would anyone desire your cock if you can’t even see it when you look down?! Get a measuring tape, measure your body fat (because your visceral fat will kill you). Take a picture and post it. Hold up the mirror to the world. Either do what Horn’s suggests and fast or at the very least eat only one meal over an over. You need to stop equating eating w…

The TLDR of your mental/NMMNG section seems to be that you’ve realised if you do x to get y from a women it isn’t going to happen but if you do a to get b from a guy it’s ok? Do you not see that your need to report the “good job” is the issue?

Exactly! The only thing I can say that is positive is that I almost wrote it myself. That’s why I’m here… it’s not to get my dick wet, it’s to develop my frame and realise my mission.

Crowd: this is exactly the point I’m trying to make. To ensure that my actions or driven by me for me whereas in the past I was chasing the applause from the crowd. This is a work in progress. Last OYS I there was a comment about being ok with validation and basking in it vs needing it. I need it at times and still care too much about what people think of me. Next: linked to the point above. When I escalate too soon. It’s basic stuff skipping to seduction before comfort once attraction has been …

I came across this as an example of IDGAF attitude a few years ago when reading RP content. https://youtu.be/968yNvFiVH0?si=aMNc9cnVxvMedSaS

I'd love to say that I owned it with an IDGAF attitude, but the truth is that this left me feel all kinds of bad feelings long after I went home. I realize these emotions are here to serve me and help me calibrate better for the next time, but I seem to have little control over my emotions. What would it look like to feel the IDGAF instead of just acting it? Can you think of a time when you truly felt that unshakable confidence—where there was no script, no need to prove anything, just calm cert…

Exactly. The number on the scale is not an integer, it’s the area under the curve that represents ALL the shitty decisions the past you has made. You need to get angry at that past you and I’d suggest you won’t make meaningful progress until the angry voice in your head crowds out the one that is making excuse after excuse and watching daily fluctuations like they mean shit.

While I target 1400, I’ve averaged between 1400 and 1600. You’re right though on the training and recovery. I targeted 190lbs by mid May which will be tough and maybe not achievable but I get that at this stage waist size and lifts are as important. This is as much me demonstrating to myself that I do what I say I’ll do rather than rationalising a short cut
/r/MarriedRedPill27/03/25 09:25 PM

I know. Ive been targeting 1400 calories now for the best part of 9 months but I’m not 300lbs any more. But I have gone from 250 to 300 to now 220 in the space of 18 months so there is a fear there because eating healthily because that is just who I am isn’t quite there (yet).

This is a nugget of gold. You’re right to call it out. There’s a pattern in me: I’ve often tried to enforce discipline from a place of self-loathing and disgust—and when that didn’t hold, I masked it with overconfidence. That came through in past OYS posts, and the inauthenticity got called out. Rightfully so. The shift I’m working on now is internal. It’s the mission before the mission. I keep picturing it like this: I want to ride the waves of chaos and emotion—not control the ocean. But to do…

And the notes are great. I must admit, I like them on top for exactly that reason about what I can do with my hands but I’m always up for variety - not least because I’m learning about myself and what I want too (countless girls later). The main thing for me is breaking down the validation seeking behaviours and doing it from a position of desire.

The D part I have nailed (relatively speaking) the shit tests via text was because on Friday I tested her submission when she was on top of me and ready to orgasm and I told her not to. She submitted. I wasn’t giving a fuck but there was no time for comfort afterwards. The emotion is more because i might as well have my vocal cords cut during such moments (which i put down to my catholic upbringing and lack of talking openly about sex). But I’ll get to this point in my development once I’ve got …

Appreciate the feedback. “Acting with conviction and abundance” to fill the blank. I was going to say confidence or purpose but conviction hits both. I’ll experiment with the club soda - not least because it means I’m not off piste on my mission while out on dates. My gut reaction is that in the UK this comes with a boring stigma but which has made me resist in the past but this is all about testing and learning. I might be focusing on the wrong actions. The other stuff though… you got all that from one comment? Having ambition isn’t LARPing and if I don’t get it I then look at my next options. The point I was making is that there is a lot of faking it until you make it. A let actions lead and your mindset will change in a lot of the comments and advice here. I am a big believer in that advice. My point is that despite the actions my mindset hasn’t shifted and I see that as a bit of a warning for me to r…

I get both points and I appreciate the reminder. This is pretty much why I’m focused on shedding the fat before thinking about anything else. The point I was making was subtle in that I’m question whether actions alone will change my confidence. For example, I’m slaying it at work: I’ve spent the last year turning around a basket case which should see me secure the CEO role permanently but my inner narrative and how I project myself as a result is shit whereas I should be walking around the plac…

I don’t think it will serve either of us to turn this into a discussion on logic or English grammar, the main point though is that you’re using the word aggressive when I’m trying to point out, as are others in the comments, that 2lbs per week should at the very least be considered a normal baseline if you’re being honest with yourself. If anything I see myself as being too serious in all aspects of my life. When I’m talking about humour I’m meaning an extension of amused mastery ie to be serious about myself but have amusement in the world. It was mainly finances to be honest and the fact that it was my wife who was unhappy/wanting to leave so was more willing to cede. We are in a decent position of having two good jobs with similar salaries and we had always put a proportion of income into a joint account which was nearly 50/50 so the expenses was easy to agree on (but difficult now for me financially given I’m covering the full cost of the house).

Does the desire for the outcome ever change depending on the inputs to get to that outcome? Suppressing the desire because you don’t think it’s attainable seems like ego protection to me. Ie I want to chat up that hot blonde in the coffee shop… but oh, I don’t like the anxiety of the approach. She’ll always be a hot blonde in your eyes. I like better this comment about getting out your comfort zone rather than changing your wants. I’m in the same boat so much so that I struggle at times to even …

There is a massive difference in reading to collect a badge (well done, you’re so clever) and reading to change behaviour. Have any of these books changed you?

What did you do this week to “pump poetic beauty into the world around you?”. How will next week be different?

What is it you want but don’t like? And what is it that you don’t like about it?

Yes, in the UK. When we separated earlier in the year we drafted a separation agreement which covered assets, childcare, expenses, etc. For example, we both own the house but I live in it and have a buyout price should we divorce.

These are really good pointers, thank you. Sounds like you’ve been on this journey which I’ll now dig into. This sounds strange but a large part of it for me is not wanting to be the one who orders a salad when the thin and hot runner is eating a full pizza or drinking a VLS when all the guys are drinking pints. On Saturday, I ordered Diet Coke during some rounds and yes there was the odd joke but I didn’t care. I need to get ok with not caring!

Actually for me I’m slowly getting out my head that a few good days means that it’s ok to have a cheat day. And I’m also trying to be full present during and the days that follow a cheat day because I feel shit often. The more I can associate the negative lasting effects with the shit food or binge drinking (rather than the positive) the more I think I’ll see the shift in lifestyle that I want. Mike Mathews talks about this in BLS.

Thanks for the advice. It stuck a note and I’m developing that self respect after losing it and I will be back in my prime all the better for what has happened here. I’m dropping the dating. Not even sure I’ll still see the girl who is popping over every week for sex since I know she wants more. Gym is getting hit hard and I’ll be experimenting with outdoor pursuits soon. Active and social will be the main criterion. I don’t see the Disney dad and family as one in the same. The little one brings…

Thanks for the comments. The focus is turning the eating and strength habits into a lifestyle - when I get there then I might loosen the tracking but not one day before this point.

What are you aims for this week? What would success look like in next weeks OYS?

I ran an aggressive deficit from 1st Jan until late June and dropped 50lbs and then took a break for a couple of months. I only restarted the deficit half way through OYS1 so just under 3 weeks ago. There is scope more uncounted calories which I’m being more aware of (for example eating the crusts from the little ones toast at breakfast or measuring slightly larger portions). My thinking was target 1800 rather than 2000 to build in a margin of safety there. I don’t have a meal plan. I need to ge…

I am noticing my fatigue levels increase but I’ll keep watching it. I could do better with my macros (more protein and carbs, less fat). I also did a DNA fitness test which will give me more of an idea of my body’s preference for aerobic/anaerobic exercise. It takes 3 weeks. The cheat meal was a meal rather than a day. Fish supper, two beers and some (a fair bit of) frozen yogurt while watching the football (soccer).

I should have said actually that last week it was the Monday morning reading first thing post piss whereas this week it was the 7 day average (all at the same time). I average 8000-9000 steps per day (which includes my treadmill HIIT runs) but I can up that more with as you say some audible content. I hope this shit does start to fall off but I’m not changing my eating until it does!

The status quo works for her: she gets to pretend to play happy family whenever she likes and fuck her ex colleague when she feels the need (but pretend that she isn’t). That work for me. I can’t have family days to the zoo one minute on the basis we are trying to work things out and then silence for a bit. If she had her way we would be polygamous. It’s a great question though and I’m struggling to answer it.
/r/MarriedRedPill03/08/22 08:20 PM

Honestly? Because my ego doesn’t like the silence, or the purely functional conversation. A part of me stupidly hoped for a response that would be ‘no, let’s continue to work on things’ but deep down I knew I was just calling out the elephant in the room and short circuiting the inevitable.

First off, I appreciate the time you’ve put into this post. I’ll be trying to mimic a fair part of this. The chicken/rice prepping and protein/creatine are down but I’ll explore the rest. I get that it’s all about confidence and my confidence is in the toilet at the moment. If I was to put a real mission into words just now abundance for me would be related to confidence, self respect, compassion, joy and not really giving a fuck about what others think. Confidence is a prerequisite to abundance…

I don’t trust any racks that are mobile either. I’ll keep in mind upping the ante on the home gym. For now though, there is nothing better than to pull down the bed when the little one wakes up super early, put on some TV for her, and get in 30 mins of running. Hand on heart, no - I’d rather not divorce. I’d rather I found this place 2 years ago and didn’t steer the ship into an iceberg. My fucking is just a way to get over the oneitis… even now I think about my wife far too much. She sees the p…

Thanks for the advice man. I’ll check over your posts to understand better why it was the best decision you’ve made. I would tbh but it’s more a question of space - if I could get one sturdy enough but easily enough moved then I can use the room for when guests come over - if I ever stop being a social retard! Besides, the home gym is so I don’t have any excuses for when I have the little one. When I don’t i need to find a home in the iron temple. As for the wife - I can’t remember the last time…
