Totally agree. It was grating and annoying. Also, I think you can have a career and have passions and still have a red pill relationship. Moreover, I don’t think most of women on this subreddit would disagree with that statement.

Is he as baffled as you are? You mention getting his levels checked, I’m assuming he did this in response to your decreased sex life. Is it that he doesn’t want to, or he can’t get it up? I think down more diagnostics are in order and some very honest conversation. If he wants to have sex but can’t perform that’s a different story from he just isn’t emotionally into it as much. Has he had any unsettling life changes? Deaths in the family or of friends? Lost a job?

I’m sorry, I’m just dying of laughter. People have lots of systems for not bumping into each other on the sidewalk. Believe it or not, I have been managing this for over 30 years! No severe sidewalk accidents to report. My husband actually has a name. I suppose I could also call him, “Husband” if I wanted to be extra clear. Also, the accepted and most courteous way was to serve women first. Like I said, what you’re doing is fine. It’s great, in fact, if you’re into it. So is convincing your husb…

I’ve read TiH before... I think it’s definitely a type of BDSM. I mean, that doesn’t make it bad! It’s great if it works for you. All of this ritual (walk behind your husband, call him sir, serve him) feels like a dominant-submissive relationship to me. I just don’t think it should be held up on this thread as a shining example of red-pill.

Ummmm? Honestly this sounds more BDSM than red pill. If you like this, kuddos! No judgement. But there are many relationships with healthy gender roles that aren’t this.

OH I totally misunderstood your point... you meant she doesn’t owe him the housework no matter how he says it... yes, agree with that 100 percent.

Oh, I disagree! We are all owed kindness, in fact, I think you are always on your best behavior in the early parts of a relationship... if you can’t be kind and cordial and instead spend time making demands it is just an early indicator of what is to come. Maybe he doesn’t have to say “loved” if they are not using that language yet, but she is living with him one week a month... I would guess they have said some pretty loving words to each other already.

Honestly? He sounds obnoxious. I don’t think TRP is about setting contractual expectations and having your guy check them off a list. It’s about joyfully embracing gender roles when they are appropriate and reasonable for the situation. In my experience service expectations kill relationships and certainly kill marriages. You can talk to him about the wild boar he forgot to kill for you or the cabin he never built with his two hands and it would sound equally ridiculous. If he isn’t minding his …

I know you’re not getting a lot of support here. I personally think relationships with much younger men are indeed an anomaly, and as such, when they do happen it’s for a reason. Like, real deep spiritual connection, person I would go to the ends of the earth for type of thing. Queen Elizabeth I had a presumed love affair with an advisor who was much younger and he said to her that she has such vitality and spirit that he would love her in any body, at any age, would be smitten with her if she w…

Does anyone else feel this is contrived? I mean, I want to be in a relationship where I actually feel those things (respect, excitement when he comes home, like he’s my hero). If I feel the opposite but have to convince and gratitude- journal my way into believing he’s my Prince Charming ... that seems like I’m getting the short end of the stick in a massive way. I think there is a delicate balance between working to change yourself so that you extend kindness to your spouse and aren’t judgmenta…

Yes indeed to that last part! ;-) But to your other points, I think the word "punishment" probably gives the wrong impression. Perhaps "consequence" is more apropos. A punishment "game" to me is: you want a guy to take you to a very expensive restaurant and you withhold sex or affection or dates until he does. That's silly and obnoxious. What I am suggesting isn't a game or a bluff - it's the opposite. It's having pride, conviction, self-worth. It's setting strong boundaries and not veering …

Men respect women who respect themselves. I disagree with your assessment that these rules are for dominatrices or women who want blue pill men. Within my framework, you actually get to be warm and soft and submissive because you have built parameters that protect you. Ultimately it comes down to this: with women who give lots of second chances and don’t have a healthy sense of self worth, men won’t commit. They may enjoy, but they won’t respect. They won’t ascribe value. The fairytale is indeed…

Here was my girl game, and it’s kind of the opposite of this. I didn’t sleep with anyone, period. Only my (now) husband. It’s not for everyone and I wasn’t a fundamentalist of some kind, just very clear on what I wanted and didn’t want. I think you have sex and still follow my rules, below. The core precepts: 1. Have a healthy sense of self worth. Be proud. 2. Always be ready to walk and be able to walk out the door and shut it. He has to know it, not because you threaten or tell him but because…

That’s amazing are you in the US?? I haven’t heard of rates like that since the 90s. She can do laundry, iron, change sheets, do a vacuum once a week, clean all bathrooms. When the house is super clean and cleaned often it makes it much easier to maintain.

A housekeeper. I’m not kidding. If this is in your budget it will be the best thing you ever did, even if you’re a SAHM. Having a housekeeper come a few times per week to do laundry and change sheets and tidy and vacuum and scrub toilets has given me extra time to focus on things that genuinely make a home cozy like better design, more cooking/baking, going through cluttered cupboards and sorting clothes. Also, my husband loves it. He is so happy that I give my housekeeper instructions and she d…

What an amazingly honest post. Also, it scares me. We are not three comma wealthy. But we are wealthy enough that this makes me wonder how my two daughters will fare when they are old enough to date. I went to one of the colleges you describe, but at the time I was from a middle class family and I had a really great time dating. You could say I was RPW back then and it set me apart in a sea of women who did the opposite. But I didn’t have to worry about social conventions or status. I actually l…

This is a cute problem to have :-) Enjoy! You are only young once. From a married lady, I think you should continue to see both until you have more clarity on your feelings. After one date with my husband I knew I would never touch another man with a 10 foot pole. But that’s not everyone’s journey, and I knew him professionally for years before we ever dated. If both these men are new to you, you have some getting to know them to do. The Russian guy’s reaction is definitely cultural. He will wea…
