Eh, I'll be honest that I've not been in those situations irl because cheating is a non-starter for me. But I've seen a lot of FDS irl. Again, I'm voluntarily (voluntarily celibate? Idk) not actively dating so it's not happened to me in awhile. But many cases of socially accepted cheating exists, anecdotally. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah, I can see where women's independence has a role there. The only issue I dislike is how widely accepted it is for women and men to cheat. There's definitely an imbalance imo in the social backlash of a man cheating versus a woman cheating. I don't like the concept of cheating for either gender, but if a woman cheats and divorce rapes her husband she's seen as "fighting the patriarchy" which is wrong to me.

I think they're talking about wives being more promiscuous and having affairs or being poly more now than in the 2000s. In other words, men today can't trust their wives. Edit: I should clarify, being non-consentually poly. Consensual polyamory is fine imo.
