Why do you guys always cite dating apps, a medium which literally ENCOURAGES people to be shallow and superficial?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/24 09:35 PM

Why waste time "debating" a person who doesn't want to hear it? He already made a post like this already. If you're going to publicize your shitty opinions you deserve to be ridiculed. This "debate" sub is really just a glorified rant forum.

You don't NEED to do anything. People are always going to have something to say about people's choices. You can either ignore it or complain online. Men already say it's weird for women to have a strict height requirement for dating. They are constantly complaining about this. And exclusively dating people who are emotionally and mentally immature has much stranger implications than being overly picky about height.

This entire sub is filled with posts, such as this one, of men "debating" like middle schoolers. Let's not throw stones from glass houses, mate

It's not about underage girls. A 47 year old man dating an 18 year old is fucking weird. It becomes even more weird when he refuses to date anybody over 22. Someone who only dates or has sex with people with underdeveloped frontal lobes has issues no doubt. Something can be legal and still be questionable.

I admire you for sharing your experiences, but please don't put yourself in an emotionally vulnerable position for some stranger online. They aren't worth it, certainly not OP.

It's happened a few times to me. Granted, construction sites are loud and active and any lewd comments or gestures may go unnoticed most of the time.

law is a giant excuse to be a social coward People can go to prison for violating gun laws. The law isn't an "excuse", it's big fucking concern. If you're being attacked by someone you know, you aren't likely to be armed at all. Most people aren't bringing a gun with them to a party or friends house. Women don't greet their dates with a gun to the face "just in case". I'm ending the convo here. If you can't realize why "just get a gun lul" isn't a catch all solution for sexual assault then it's …

just buy a gun We don't all live in places where guns are easily accessible and can be carried anywhere You're more likely to be assaulted by someone you know than a stranger. Rapists can enter gun free zones

I never heard this term before. For me, I just strike up a convo and see if we have anything in common. If we do, it's easy to keep going after that.

Personally, I find it very strange if my partner gets off to images and videos of people who aren't me. I don't see much difference between that and getting nudes from someone else. Porn stars being "professionals" doesn't make this better. I also don't feel comfortable with "sex work". It's not about the workers themselves ofc but the principle behind it all. I don't think sex should be bought and sold. The idea that you could be watching someone being forced/coerced to have sex on camera and n…

"Affection" can include anything from sex to making your favorite meal. Anyway, my answer is yes. If I don't feel like kissing or hugging you, I'm not "witholding" affection. I'm just a normal person with boundaries and they may be different from yours. If you are so bothered by your partner's boundaries to the point you feel they are "punishing" you perhaps you are not compatible. Or you can try and make it work. My ex-boyfriend and I had very different sex drives and attitudes towards certain …

Gender and gender norms are sociological. Not biological This is utterly preposterous. How do you think society picked those norms? You're almost there babe, you can do it. I believe in you!
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/24 09:57 PM

You just proved their point by admitting all of this "feminine" expectation is cultural, not evolutionary or biological like OP is saying. Men aren't genetically predisposed to get turned off when a woman says "bruh" or listens to Cardi B.

I have never seen a MGTOW say that other men are more physically attractive than women Funny that you say that because I remember a while back watching a MGTOW video out of morbid curiosity and he compared women and men to gorillas, saying that male gorillas look interesting but the female ones are just "too damn plain".

Apparently you have a hyper-tuned asshole radar when it's just some nervous guy who doesn't know quite what he's doing but is putting in a flawed but sincere effort, that guy's an irredeemable creep who you can see right though at a thousand paces. I never followed r/niceguys but the "Nice Guy" archetype isn't a literal nice guy looking for love. It's a man who only cares to be nice to a woman he wants to date/have sex with and his nice façade is taken off when he is rejected and he becomes an a…

Okay, using your point comparison, possessing a trait that your potential partner hates gives you negative points, but a trait they feel indifferent to gives you no points. How are they both equal? One is clearly better than the other and will affect how attractive you look to that person

That first study says nothing about who ends up with who, nor does a dating app give a good view of the general population. People on dating apps already have elevated standards since their first impression of a person is reduced to carefully picked photos and a bio. It's not a good environment to conduct relationship studies unless it's a study specific to dating apps. The second study isn't relevant to what I'm talking about. My claim is that the average man is likely to attract an average wom…

Which is as good as saying he’s not attractive. Indifference to a person's trait is much better than outright dislike.

And to be “fine” isn’t to be attractive. I'm not attracted to him I just said his body type is "fine" meaning it's not a deal breaker. He looks okay.

And what stats are you quoting when you make this claim Lmao, not everything is about fucking statistics, this sub is a joke. How the hell would you even conduct a study like that? I don't know where you live but most people are average. Most of us will end up with someone in our "league" for lack of a better word. And for most of us average is fine. Also lmao if you think he's at peak performance on the right I was being hyperbolic, obviously Here I'll spell it out for you; the point is to be attractive to as many women as possible And my point is that these standards aren't as high as you are making them. The average guy is going to attract the average girl. You said that it's laughable that the man on the left is considered fine but I don't understand why. Most men I encounter look like him. I don't really have strict expectations on what…

For those who will inevitably assert that “nO oNe iS dEnYiNg tHiS” have a look at my last thread. Sorry but a couple of randos claiming otherwise isn't enough to convince me that most "blue pillers" think men and women have similar a libido. You can ask a middle schooler this question and they'll tell you men have a higher sex drive than women.

"Redditor debates" is an extremely low bar and even with that bar this sub doesn't make it past most other subs. Many classic "redditisms" are present in nearly every post here. Way too many people rely on their personal experiences alone to judge and draw conclusions. They don't know how to properly analyze statistics and either misinterpret studies or are misled by them. /r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 03:12 PM

"No. Stunted emotions and the inability to express is an ick. I've had exes and male friends cry to me and never thought any less of them" Are you insinuating that this person broke up with her exes and isn't attracted to her male friends because they cry?

Just point out where I said anything about women never doing anything wrong. You literally claimed to have "quoted" me. Nothing I said came remotely close to that, you pulled it out your ass. If you are talking to more than one person on here, you may be confusing me for someone else. Guess sarcasm isn't in your vocabulary. "What do you mean my joke makes no sense and came out of nowhere? It's sarcasm don't you get it!?"
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/24 01:24 PM
1

Which part of my statement was a strawman? I literally quoted you. No you didn't. You said I was probably one of those people who think women can do no wrong. Never said anything close to that. At least you admit that men are the only ones who have the potential to act like adults. Kudos to you for acknowledging that. You literally tried to defend yourself against my strawman accusation and then immediately create another one. Funniest interaction I've had online this month.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/24 09:15 AM
1

It seems like you're one of those people that constantly tout that women can do no wrong. Redditors try not to use the strawman fallacy challenge (impossible) Is this your "be the better man bro" speech? This is my "act like an adult if you want people to take you seriously" speech. For a "debate"/discussion sub, no one here knows how to do those two things.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/24 03:52 AM

So, it's only prudent to return the favor. Men like you have been negatively generalizing women for centuries. For many people, it's their default state, not an act of "retaliation". And this is literally playground logic. Why should anyone take you seriously when your response to aversion is to do the same thing? The moment you do this, you lose the right to criticize your opponent of the same fault.

Women have been constantly blamed and shamed for crap that has been completely out of our control and because people are giving us the benefit of the doubt, this means the female sex is never held accountable? I could also cite a lot of examples where people bend over backwards to make excuses for men. Sometimes you have to step back and realize that you are too obsessed with gender dichotomy.

Lmao no I don't. I never snooped through my SO's phone nor asked him to unlock it and let me rummage through his chats. I trusted my partner and wasn't so insecure that I believed his desire for privacy meant he was cheating. If a man doesn't want to date me because I won't let him butt into my business, then good riddance. The less men like that in the dating pool the better.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 08:43 PM

My business is my business. The whole "nothing to hide defense" is stupid and manipulative. There is nothing wrong with having things for yourself and setting boundaries. If your partner keeps some information private and your first thought is, "they're cheating on me!" you are not mature enough for a relationship. You aren't entitled to read through my conversations with family, friends, co-workers, etc. You aren't entitled to go through my notes or whatever else. "Bad faith", jfc grow up.

Pretty much since cellphones became mainstream, women are fiercely protective over their phones. Men generally don't care. This is the most out of touch thing I've read on this subreddit. Many men absolutely do care if their girlfriend or whoever snoops on their phone. Most people agree that a partner demanding to see their phone is a huge red flag. Why do you need unrestricted access to my phone? Why is my word not enough? What have I done to warrant your distrust? Why does me valuing privacy r…

I don't think most people handwave his actions Perhaps not most but there are enough fans who demonstrate a severe lack of understanding when talking about the show and it's characters. None of that happened before he "broke bad". Refusing the job offer from his associates and choosing to cook meth were two decisions Walt made before everything started to kick off. And I'm not going to hand wave Walt's mistreatment of his wife and Jessie & friends simply because he "broke bad". Most people wouldn't react the way he did if put in the same situations as he. She never cheated on him. I would say she was having an emotional affair with Ted, but before she slept with him she made it extremely clear to Walt that their relationship was over. A half-assed b-day hand job hardly trumps the negative traits Walt displayed early on. Other than lessening the stigma around women having casual relationships and advancements in abortion laws, I don't see any benefits that are 100% exclusive to women. Firstly, a woman not wanting to pay for her own meal on a date isn't misandry and compared to terrorism, yes, it is a very trivial problem. If this is enough to radicalize men into Tate worshippers they probably were already falling off into the deep end for a while. The notion that women have always been oppressed isn't something created by feminists. History shows us that patriarchy is a phenomenon that has occurred across the world in many different cultures. Yes we do have a way of knowing because there are thousands of able-bodied women out there who cannot get sex or keep a relationship despite what you believe and none* of them go on shooting rampages. Hell, they are more likely to kill themselves than kill others. There are also so many other motives for a woman to committ mass murder yet we still have a severe lack of female mass shooters. *I know one of you guys is going to take every word I said extremely literally and link some obscure shoot…

Are you people still living in the 1800s? There is a whole world outside of the West and women's rights in the West didn't really start picking up speed until the mid 20th century. How would the first scenario ever be misconstrued as flirting? Why would you assume that she's upset because she thinks you are hitting on her and not because she's simply stubborn and doesn't want to move? There are a number of other reasons why she may be upset.

Okay, that kind of helps me better understand where you are coming from. I think the problem is that you're viewing people more as resources than individuals. It's not likely you will find a partner who wants to enter an exclusive relationship with you while being involved in such a shallow relationship. That isn't fulfilling for most people. What you're looking for doesn't really resemble companionship. Hence why I think you are better off sticking to casual or short term relationships.

Then it sounds like you don't really want a partner. Why not just have one night stands? You're not going to get any deep romantic connections from a person you don't care to be friends with. If you don't care about their opinions, interests, or feelings, what do you expect to get out a relationship like this? Just a bedmate?

So, what do you want out of a partner? Just romantic and sexual affection? What does an ideal married life look like to you?

Can get that from a friend Most people are friends with their spouse/partner, or at least the ones in healthy relationships.
