Glad to see people actually discussing this with some nuance. The idea of judging ourselves by how many sexy people are attracted to us is understandable in this time period. The online world really pushes the idea of "number up good". So more partners is shown as meaningful. People in crisp looking clothes will make video after video telling you how to be high value. Implying you are not if you aren't raking in women. No one is taught to be happy enough with themselves, there is always a grind.…

I hope it goes well in the long run for you. You sound very genuine about this. Im rooting for you. One thing I'll say is removing everything on your schedule is treating her with reverence. It seems like a good idea but it isn't. Do that sometimes but rememeber to be careful of over doing those things. Not because of some silly seduction strategies but because demonstrating you're happy, complete, and genuine will be what attracts her. Pushing too hard can seem awkward when you see other people…

Move on. Move faster next time. You dont win by waiting and sadly it fails unless you're in the movies. I dont recommend staying friends because you'll be hurting yourself trying. Give yourself time and don't let people be toxic and tell you that you owe her full attention and friendship. Take care of yourself first. You will not heal by trying to hold on. Especially since it sounds like you were treating her in a special way. You can be friends again after you truly feel better and have moved o…

You're trying to talk about it on the macro scale while they are talking about the micro scale. It's easy. Think of yourself as an individual. There will be pickiness from some women and you will strike out. It may be because you're too short, too tall, too weak looking, too roided out looking. The point is these things can make you fail on an individual level. It doesn't mean the entire human race is doomed to never date. It means you are simply not 100% in control of who gets attracted to you.

People downvote sometimes on reaction to just being diagreed with. Then other people see it and pile on. I pretty much ignore downvotes and say my piece because we're supposed to share perspectives. I am generally always respectful so I've learned not to worry. Thanks for reading and commenting though. It helps me to know i'm not crazy! With this issue I think there is a particular narrative people want to push. Especially by people with a horse in the race too. The idea of trying to brow beat s…

There are plenty of people for them to pick and trying to frame it as "you can't handle it" seems manipulative. The idea that there is some necessity to date parents is just a weird way to frame this. It's not terrible to do so in some cases, but there are many reasons not to. There are so many complications that come from that and you get into such relationships knowing you'll never be most important to them. It's not "being unable to handle it". It's respecting that others may not want to deal…

I believe there is some value in a coach, but I also think a large part of it comes from you feeling the need to get value from the experience. You paid for it, so you push yourself a bit harder to really put yourself out there. You after two weeks were not so different, but the gym hottie was willing to go out with you. This means you were probably already pretty decently off. I mean, hell, you were a regular at the gym presumably which puts you in a good spot already. It's cheesy, but it means…

Gotta love when someone presents themselves as an expert to listen to, with years of great routines....who can't share said routines or even present the gist of a conversation. Makes me wonder what the point of the post even is.

It's the same reason anyone hates to lose power over others, it feels bad and they realize they like being appreciated. They like options. Being the center of attention is intoxicating and it feels safe to play people. It's why lots of advice for men is also to 'spin plates'. You have lots of options and you feel good if lots of people are into you. A decent guy friend who actually cares about you is hard to find. So sometimes they realize they do care about you, but aren't mature enough to eith…

"You said you were okay with just being friends" Is incredibly loaded and selfish. For some it because they miss being given all your attention and did enjoy someone supporting them no matter what. They viewed you as 'family' in the toxic sense that they expect you to give and never get anything back. That or they say it because they want to believe they are not the reason the connection is dying. They don't want to admit they are treating you poorly and that their need to 'keep' you around stem…

Too often when I hear about poly relationships, it seems like one person is getting to fuck whoever they want and the other is getting fucked. I know there are probably some that actually work. I just have a hard time personally seeing value in it because one person seems to hold all the cards, and someone else is just along because they don't know how else to get what they want. It is a very slanted view, but man... it never seems to go well. It is my own issues with being able to believe someo…

Never feel like a pig for wanting what makes you happy. Being a pig is if you take what you want without regards to someone else. Being yourself is honoring your desires, making them clear and leaving if you are not being fulfilled. There are lots of reasons people may be worried about having sex, but too bad. It's cold sounding, but it's not your problem. It's not like you'd say she's a gold digger or a tease for not putting out despite all the things you're showering onto her. Just be upfront …

Passivity is an action, it's not just accepting what comes your way. There's nuance there. "Being a man" has many forms, and perhaps some immutable truths. I think one is that a man should avoid let others pierce their peace. If there was a raging storm around them, they'd stay calm and make a decision. Something as simple as looking at your woman and smirking when she gets hit on could be seen as you saying "This is funny. What will you say?". It also diffuses the situation and lets her know sh…

You might be underselling yourself. Most people are probably right that these are just 'fair weather friends' who like you when they don't feel below you. However it is also possible that maybe you're rubbing it in their face to an extent? If you are making every conversation about how "I totally bagged this 10/10 mate!" they might feel the need to lash out because you're making them face something they aren't ready to. Another possibility is you are underselling yourself and while you see yours…

Don't take that advice. How will you meet anyone if you don't approach at some point? Sure it is better if you meet through other friends or activities/clubs in college. Yet even then people could still critique you because "how dare you use this activity as a chance to pursue someone". No matter what you do, someone who has never tried it will tell you it's a mistake. Even if they have no success or alternative at all. Just don't be an asshole. Don't be the douchebag that continues to push if s…

Great on you. It really is telling where she went afterwards too. It's clear she doesn't actually value the people she dates, she just wants to see if she can get what she wants. Even the rich guy doesn't have it because no one will. There will always be a reason for people like that to cheat because they are always too busy looking to see 'what they could get' instead of loving what they have. They only care when they lose it, and even then they won't learn from it.

As an honest answer, and not one that I want to hide or try to appease people with. It's unattractive if you have a huge count for anything serious. For casual fun? Then a high count means you like that and know what you're doing. For serious relationships it shows you don't really naturally like commitment. I wouldn't feel safe with a total virgin either, as they might get wild because they never experimented. To me it's about sensible risks. A woman who likes to sleep around feels like she mig…

There is no evidence on what gender causes suicide for men that is so pointed. There is no way to even really collect that. You're taking a serious issue and trying to spin it just to say "fuck these MRA men" without thinking about men in general. It's easy to shift accountability to one side by making something like that up. Which is exactly what the extreme MRA people do but in the opposite direction. It's bullshit when anyone does that though. You can't honestly tell me you really believe mos…

I feel that you are taking suicide far too lightly and being too bold in your assumption. One does not have to think very hard to imagine how a woman can contribute to a man's suicide. Suicide also is rarely a "This one person made me do it" sort of situation. Men tend to die to it more because they take more lethal measures. Women attempt it plenty but usually do things like pills and recover more due to that. Do note that I agree there are some issues in the world. For example I teach and so I…

24 year old discovers books are trash, authors are all morons, and has the real secret. It is simple: "Be better". Ok my gentle jabbing is done. The advice is fine but it's hardly groundbreaking. Funnily enough a number of books on seduction go into exactly this. Much of the newer stuff specifically challenges the reader to improve themselves, their health, and etc. I find the advice of "be better", because let's not pretend this is more than that, is great. Provided someone is a certain 'range'…

I mean honestly is he even really not using a lot of typical advice? I feel like a lot of these points can be found in some of the more popular dating advice books. Most of the modern PUA stuff seems full of tactics he's incidentally using. The dude is surrounding himself with hot women, being introduced by those hot women. I know that has been recommended more than a few times around here. Add in looking good, being able to talk to them like they're human, and generally just looking for fun...y…

So the issue is you seem to be valuing other people more than yourself. In subtle ways. To fix this you need to step back and stop worrying about the big goals and look at what makes a happy man. Everyone wants success but a lot of guys forget about the whole 'happy' part. Right now you tried the whole goal oriented approach. You're out three thousand dollars, you feel like you're back at the start and you only got a few dates. This is great progress in some ways but there's a reason you aren't …

Indeed. As has "dress nicely". Yet you gave that praise. What is your point? This is also why I gave some more specific examples to avoid "vague and general" and told him not to just quit on other things he liked. I can't write out a whole plan for his life. I also only know what he said. So I kept that in mind and kept it easy. Good advice is guidance, not a strict plan you have to follow to the T. People will fail the latter every time. My advice was pretty pointed in the sense that I recommen…

So the "tired old advice" of dress well is complete, yeah? He needs the "tired old advice" of being a whole person himself and actually having fun and holding outside interests. Right now he's even saying he wants to focus off of seduction, but the issue is it sounds like he missed a huge thing. Fulfillment. This is pretty critically important to him as a person. Right now it sounds like he's chasing goals that he thinks will fulfill him, but look at where his $3k, 500 approaches and more have g…

So this might get buried, but man you're so close to learning a valuable lesson. You're missing it by an inch but you keep touching upon it. Your problem isn't confidence. You clearly are willing to get rejected and try things. Your problem is that you haven't mastered yourself. You touch on that. You look a bit better in the newer ones, though they are removed now. I would say your hair looks better and it's not as if you seem really heavy or anything. Unless you are taking pics to hide that. Honestly dude you look fine, don't sweat that too hard. The thing is that lots of women consider that, but much less than we tend to hyper focus on it. As long as you are fairly attractive, which I think you've got going on, you'll do okay. You just have to have a personality to stand out with.

You look a bit different but not bad, maybe even better. Pics are sort of blurry. Either way that's not the focus. If you're busy thinking you're not good enough, that'll come out. If she likes you for who you are, that's what matters. Be proud of you, showcase some cool stuff you're into and invite her to come to something you care about. Don't try to praise her or impress her right away.

You need to consider yourself in this sort of formula. It's easy to say "not my fault" about it all, but are you really trying? You're talking about convenience. Think about it this way, do you want to be someone's committed partner if they chose you out of convenience? That basically says you aren't making them feel special. You won't just land a 10/10 woman, or even a 5/10 like that. Work on you, be you, don't let work define you. Set your terms and do things you like. If a girl skips out she …

Having perfect moves doesn't always undo basic ground level attraction or the lack of. Especially not if the moves become too transparent and someone can tell you're running techniques on them. At least that's my read on it. I wouldn't trust someone if I thought they were just reading moves out of a book or if I could tell they came from a sub like this.

You will always say you view other things as more important if someone asks because you want to look more moral, meaningful and deeper. The secret is to not give a shit. Tons of guys will even give you contrary advice. If the gym is important to you, post away. Why worry about making yourself ideal to people who can't appreciate what you do? People will be attracted by you or they will not, but if you have a nice body they will like it to some degree. The people who often rail against it are tho…

Yeah it may not be so much a question of skill, as it is just learning that rejection doesn't and really shouldn't hurt. Chances are there are people who like you for who you are, so you don't even need to fake it. Honestly what really sort of 'broke' me was reading...I think it was Art of Seduction, by Robert Greene. There is that recent post here where people are talking about how much of PUA was a scam. To be honest I think that seduction is too nuanced for any one method to be ideal. The disagreements are just branches of the same path, but the common denominator is always confidence, having fun, and actually talking to people. I think as long as you do that and don't sound like a robot, you'll make headway. I've only read about 4-6 books and a lot of online advice. It sort of all blends but yeah it's cer…

Part of it is the idea that everyone deserves an absolute deity. This leads men to just jump around when young and go for anyone, which inflates the ego of lots of average to below average women on dating apps. So the average man ends up losing out because women just get lots more contact and get lots of options when they are young. Eventually those women become the less valuable commodity as they age and the guys who have established themselves are desired...but they can access the younger wome…

I don't know, a few recommended books have touched on this topic before. So it hardly seems revolutionary. It's just another one of the many tools in the toolbox. The problem to me with this being upvoted is it reads like a sales pitch. It's not bad advice, but it's not something so amazing that it really needs to get a disclaimer of "oh so many of you are messaging me, please sign up for my...."

I'd say it's worth it, it may be a bit roundabout but it is critical to develop those skills. It's like any other skill in that regard, the more you practice it the easier it is and the more you can sort of do. Branching out of our comfort zones a bit is a way to generate value.

In the end the issue with just knowing game is that you will fall apart when you have to prove you have anything more. Please note I am not saying that knowing/using game is an issue, this is only for when it's all you've really got. In every cautionary tale about game, or books that critique it, you read that same story. The dude who mastered game, gets dates...goes on a few, but follows his rulebook too hard. You're putting words in that guys mouth. Embracing the faults you can't change doesn't mean that game has no place. Being yourself doesn't have to be the generic "just be yourself" either. Game can still be useful to know, but it doesn't have to become who you are in interactions. That's all that's really being said. We can follow the line of logic being discussed without trying to get upset about it. You can be confident about what you can't change. You can understand that you can't praise wome…

Ah you don't like it, that's fair. I'm not trying to judge here, though I do think the advice is a bit...advanced for people who tend to be here looking for advice. Most do not have the issue of being too successful and already many are damaged by believing they are immoral for doing what makes them happy.. Responsibility for someone else's thoughts is nigh impossible though. It is quite an ordeal you'll be setting before yourself, but if you find value in it...then pursue it. I am sure you can …

It's great you're good in bed, but I doubt that's the secret. Most likely it's that you are truly yourself and don't try to appease them. Too few people do and it shows genuine confidence. What's odd to me is that you're trying to kill this confidence to be under some woman's heel and in a way that can only hurt you or any who take your advice that it is morally wrong. This only hurts if you view morality as you owing someone for their interest in you. There is no larger problem except the one you create. She is an adult and that means she must ultimately be responsible for herself. If you don't like her after getting closer, faking it will only lead to worse trouble. It shouldn't leave them fucked up. You are not so special that you should ruin lives, nor do you owe anyone a debt just because they like you. It is potentially harmful to view morality as only y…

Way I see it is that you shouldn't diss people if you aren't willing to actually talk about it. Sharing opinions is well and good, but when you have to imply something negative about someone to get an opinion out, well it starts to change what you're doing. Either way, you take care.

I think the issue is reading these as holy commandments rather than general guidelines that you're meant to apply some human logic to. Like yeah. The only thing that really sounds out of line is the texting thing. As long as you aren't spamming texts and getting put on the back-burner every day....i'd say a little delay is fine. That said...success is more than sealing the deal. Part of success is personal value and it doesn't have to be bitter to be willing to move on. Id avoid that. It comes across as needy to ask or as if you need her validation and only care for that. It's okay and normal to feel needy sometimes. However you should aim to be confident in who you are and not require anyone to confirm you are right. In an ideal relationship you will be confident in yourself but also able to be vulnerable and real with your partner. That vulnerability must be built up to though. It also has to be real. Let her deal with setting things up as a test. If she's serious then she'll make an effort. Don't spurn her or keep testing her incessantly though. Effectively you should continue as if she's just a passing interest for now. Genuinely just enjoy what you have going on, make other plans and if she acts.... then consider it more seriously. Hmm well without knowing jack about your specific situation in any meaningful capacity I can only give you generic advice. I would do something extremely non-committal that you can leave at anytime. Exercise that right if you feel she's wasting your time. It may play out better that way too. Go in with the hope she entertains you, but be ready to suggest something. If you think of it in terms of guarantees you're looking at the concept in a fundamentally flawed way. The idea isn't that you will bag and bang every babe you meet. The idea is you have a few techniques and understand the core of attraction. A lot of advice becomes the same as you trudge through it but the consistent point is there are some things many of us innately suck at, or were taught incorrectly. Fearing rejection is a weakness. Some people are misunderstanding the basic advice behind 'don't chase girls'. It doesn't mean you passively sit around like a Disney princess hoping your girl is going to show up to fulfill your fantasies. It means that you shouldn't chase after them once you've begun your seduction. Once you've talked a bit, made her laugh, done whatever...then you let her come after you a bit. The odd thing is how many books about charisma mention that you have to sort of be playing a game, or even frame a lot of very succesful people in a very manipulative way. While I think there is a lot of manipulation in it, I think one can still be genuine. I am currently reading "Art of Seduction" and so far it feels like every example frames it as if total sociopaths are bowling over weaker willed people. Yet I can read that and assume there are real feelings there too, it's just that you have…

I believe it subtly comes across as a brag. Assuming he lacks in all areas because he lacks in areas you succeed in is the sort of thinking one should strive to shake. I do not view you as bad for thinking that though, especially because it's clear you're not trying to be that way. We all suffer some degree of personal bias and we all lack in a few areas. My point isn't that you should apologize to me or your friend or feel attacked. It's that this very thinking is part of what is shackling you.…

First question why you want a girlfriend. Do you hope for someone to fall from the sky and be the solution to all your woes. Perhaps a romanticized ideal of finding 'the one' or waiting on her and making her happy? Is it to find someone to spend time with between your work? To use some of your money on? Etc etc. You don't have to project "fuck yeah i'm the best" to get that girl, though you need to be confident enough to not care if you don't get that specific girl. There are multiple ways to be…

I want to say ghosting is complicated, because many people do it. Often it is because many people take rejection so poorly that it makes it better to cease communication. You do not owe anyone your time, your worries, or to be their punching bag. So many people turn into rude and nasty sorts when you are upfront. Though many will claim they just want to honestly hear from you and 'care' about you very much. I say this because I advise you take care. I would say practice being open a few times, b…

Okay! Thanks. I figured about as much, but I like to hear what people on here suggest. Compliments are a thing I tend to avoid until I've managed to talk about a few other things but I need to learn how to use...and recover from potential bad ones.

What way would you generally suggest someone leaves a conversation tactfully like that?

We all find pride in things we do. Everyone likes a little praise and sometimes people seek it out. I'm not saying that there isn't valid reasons to feel it, but to say it's okay because one is 'tough achievements' and another is expected feels like it's a bit of a narrow scope. Raising a kid is hard work and someone taking pride in doing a good job is fine. Especially since we can see so many examples of people failing at that. You could also argue that it's expected a man provides, buys new th…

I feel sad that this sort of though is common enough that someone was comfortable to post that image. I doubt most would be big enough assholes to really support the idea, but the way fathers are treated is alarming. It's as if they aren't supposed to be a parent. It shouldn't be rare to see a good father. Ultimately mothers and fathers should be a team too, not at odds about who deserves the most praise.

Yeah. Plenty of men are like that too. Honestly whenever I see commentary like that about women (usually red pill stuff), I find that it's also something I've seen men do too. It's just humanity. Hell we have tropes about this for men too. The high school sport star burnout going on about past glory, the guy who talks non-stop about his new cars, the man who can't stop talking about his every gain in the gym. It's not bad to pat yourself on the back now and then....but it's a common thing we all…

Because its so expensive to own a dart gun, and a wagon or sled. Plus I imagine he lived through plenty of hard times of his own, he doesn't make enjoying life out to be more than simply enjoying time with your family. Plus I think the idea is you can work to live but you don't have to live to work. You can afford to push a little less and live a bit more. That's what I see here. Which works for a lot of people. Sure not for everyone but maybe that old adage "You can't please everyone" is releva…

Then make a minimum requirement that is sensible for both genders...in other words a state of fitness that matches the job. The idea that one sides gets notable laxer treatment or harsher treatment is unfair by nature. Not every male is burly and not every female is going to be dainty. Instead the requirements should be right where a person should have to be at. Preforming above that should be sought after, perhaps rewarded, but shifting the minimum around is inherently a bias. The point isn't h…

You really don't get to make that distinction though, there is the reason the all too mentioned "no true Scotsman" fallacy is brought up. The basic reasoning is that you can easily claim "no true X would ever do Y" which makes it simple to ignore any X's doing Y. Honestly if a group has this sort of issue, they need to support the group being targeted by other members, otherwise it lets extreme behavior go unpunished and creates a negative image of the group.

I know someone who I respect to a certain degree, who seems to believe this. I was quite taken aback when he insisted that feminism is fine, but that mens rights folk are a bunch of crazy sad sacks and that if you want equality you can only pursue one group. The more I think on it the more I think that groups names are part of the issue. You hear Feminism and you think of female rights in general, you hear men's rights and you get people thinking about mens rights strictly. Perhaps a group named…

While your little edited in comment suggests you are sick of this post, I do want to say some things about the actual decent points you brought up. After having read the article (and also coming from All), I have to say that to me it sounds like he was shopping, and talking on his phone. No strange occurrence. He even went out of his way to go to quiet area with not many others around. Now the old man continues to chat a bit, noting that the area is relatively empty. He is forced to leave and es…

Some people are sexist and it is inappropriate... However to question the seriousness of a certain movement off of the actions of the few is rather...well rather unfair. You cannot expect a group to be entirely perfect and if you want to see a change it is best to join and try to change it. That is what someone who truly believes in the cause would do.

Oh I agree that a lot of it is just sounds like they want us all to act like immature meatheads but as I said it has a little value. It was the first thing I really ever watched on the subject of men's rights and I knew it was way over the top. Still I would say I am not totally offended by its existence. Do we have better videos now as a side question? I wanted to show one of my friends something to the effect of that video...but more mature.

I dunno. I agree they are spammed, and pretty juvenile, and not the best way to introduce someone to the concept of men's rights...and obnoxious....well you get it. But they do hold a little value in that they can spark peoples interest in men's rights. I mean I watched one and go more interested in really looking at men's rights because of it.

hahah that is an interesting way to put it, I understand it though. Too many ladies seem to expect too much and don't understand that not every guy is going to be 23 years old with tons of money, a ripped body, and a strange desire to shower random girls with gifts and support all while needing nothing but sex in return. Not that guys are prefect little angels but I have to complain about things every now and again.

well said! I don't mind a strong woman though, nor do I really get turned away by an independent woman. However if someone classifies themselves as "strong and independent" it usually indicates they are just looking to mooch while claiming they are worth it to everyone around them. There are exceptions of course! However when it comes down to it I just want a lady who will accept me for what I am. Will accept that I am not trying to get the highest paying job in the world and accept that I just …

yeah but then the cops get called on you and you get the blame. Not to mention he mentioned that he was promised that her brothers would essentially come and kill him. Basically the point is that it was a lose/lose for him and I know it's hard to put yourself in that position. I would do the same as you, I would beat the ever living hell out of someone if they tried things like this on me. However I would probably end up paying for it regardless. The thing is that we cannot assume every victim c…

Not everything has to be about "equality". I get the point, yet I think it is getting too stingy to expect to get something back for every gift you give. I mean getting married is a big thing for quite a few people and getting them a decent ring shows that you value them, value the marriage and trust them. She knows that it is expensive, but I mean it is a status thing and something to be proud of for quite a few people. After all it is quite a long standing tradition. I mean it just sounds a bi…

Not really, he is not complaining that he doesn't get any tail or that he wishes more girls would leap up on him. He is complaining about women calling men assholes for their own mistakes and false expectations. The point never seemed to be "dont have sex so much" but more "if you have lots of sex that's fine but don't whine about men never taking you seriously"

It's funny that no matter how culturally refined we think we are in this current generation, no matter how much some point to the past and wonder "how could anyone believe that was right", we too are full of bias, injustice, and bigotry.

While that is true, and I would not want it posted over and over again in one "thread" or discussion it is not bad to see it in many posts regarding mens rights. I don't think I need to discuss exactly why but even though I have seen it before it is worth letting everyone get the same shot at it without extensive research.

Seeing the video helped me be more aware of some things, despite some of the silliness in presentation, and really clarified my thoughts on some of the injustices we actually face. In other words it is a good video and I hope lots of people do see it.

Nice work pepsi. I sure want to drink you knowing that it means I should be a submissive man, and allow my woman to abuse and harass me as much as she pleases because that is funny. But if I dare hit her back, ill get thrown into jail for being a wild abuser. Good lesson too! Girls should wield infinite power over our lives and should I dare go against her whims I deserve a good hard kick to the shins or things lobbed at me. Seriously though, who approves of this garbage. Maybe Pepsi is going to…
