All this is good, but the unstated subtext is that you have to have something to back all this up in part. Yeah that makes sense. But as a thought experiment I like to sometimes imagine how some future society would be structured to overcome problems like that. Do you think it's impossible? Are the majority of people destined to be filler?

I accept this as fundamentally true, but it kind of makes me upset because at least to me this idea of only 1/10 of any group being valuable and exemplary affirms the reality that the world is unfair (more unbalanced in this example) and there is no future however far ahead where this will change. I know it's not usually discussed on TRP, but is there any value to idealism for the future?

It went very well. I haven't gotten a grade or anything yet, but I opened the room to questions afterwards and a few girls in my class opened up the conversation to topics Iwasn't able to touch on regarding why men don't report DV and so on. There was absolutely no pushback and it seemed like a lot of people were hearing the information for the first time.

Exactly! I also want to find some elegant way to explain the concept of society tending to "overcorrect" when it comes to social issues, like wildly veering from left to right in an out of control car.

Yeah, I'm kind of looking for a source that presents the whole picture neatly. It seems like most are either skewed towards demonizing men or overcompensating by ONLY talking about men. Then again I got linked like 100 pages so I have a lot of reading to do

This is a lot, wow. I only have a 5-7 minute slot at most, but I'll definitely try and fit the most crucial details in there. I'm concerned about coming across as heavy handed or bitter. I don't want to make it seem as though I'm trying to push back too far.

Yeah I don't think I explained myself as well as I could have. Not all women are the prize, but I think in the case of the show they are essentially equal and opposite to Tommy. Say what you want about them but both women are very accomplished, intelligent, and capable (and May is fucking loaded beyond belief).
