Sometimes we just say it because it’s nicer than telling your friend that you don’t find them attractive. Sometimes it’s because we aren’t the type to be able to hang out with someone and have sex with them without catching feelings; the catching feelings part would be the weird part in that case. That would definitely be it for me, and I think for a lot of women. Men are little better at separating sex and romantic feelings if they have to, in my experience.

Reoccurring instances of people around you, maybe classmates, people that don’t know you that well, coworkers etc having crushes on you and you had no idea/werent flirting with them

What about all the men who are divorced in their 40s and 50s who date and get into relationships with their female counterparts? Isn’t that what the majority do? I feel like everyone’s step mothers and fathers - in normal real life - tend to be around the same age as each other

I think the dislike for men are: PUA's are for men what MLM boss babe types are for women. They're grifters. They prey on an insecurity in order to take your money; that's all it is for them. They present it as though you guys are a team and your prey is women; really, you're a cash clown and the prey is you. Risk making yourself look stupid in public or, worst case scenario, getting arrested. Risk getting lulled into a feeling of community and having found "the truth" and spending years on that…

I mean, most 18-year-olds weed out the 25+ crowd by themselves anyway, it’s only a minority that actually agree to date much older. I don’t think this is actually a particularly common thing for regular real life people
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 04:01 PM

I just think it’s an extremely rude and unromantic thing to ask. I’d never ask a guy that and wouldn’t want him to ask me. Why would you actively ruin a cutesy and flirtatious vibe (or the potential for one) by being rude?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 03:53 PM

I honestly don't think a man with a 'red pill' (as in being an internet type red piller) mindset would actually believe the woman was smarter than him, even if she clearly was. He might accept that she was better at certain things than him, like math or doing IQ tests, but I think he'd still find a way to rationalise in his head that he was smarter/equally smart in a general way that couldn't be measured (even if still untrue). Also, assuming the red pill strategy works, I generally don't think …

I don’t think it’s likely this day and age tbh. It’s maybe slightly more likely, but not to a point of worry. I’d say 32 is more fitting for your example than 28

Still though, 28 seems ridiculous considering how many find their marriage partner after other long term relationships have ended between age 28-34. People live longer and longer, the aging between 25 and 29 is minimal visually, it’s more like 25 to 35 that makes a difference

Stupid idea, but also, I don't necessarily think the ones who stayed all did so out of desperation. I could see a lot of them just saying "well, fuck it, I'm here anyway" and just participating in the competition for the heck of it. I could see myself doing that, it's kind of fun and spontaneous, even if I didn't really want to win the date

What if they both have a kid/kids from previous relationships? I hear a lot about single moms, but aren't there about an equal number of single dad's out there?

I don't see any demonisation in this thread at all. The thing that annoys people is being strung along and investing too much in someone who ends up having been misleading about their intentions. Male equivalent is if a girl goes on many dates and eventually you find out she was just using you for free food/validation/whatever and has no intention of sex.

Hm, if it's online and I haven't met them in real life, but they claim they're successfull in every way except with women and at least average looking, I usually assume they're either on the spectrum with or without knowing it or they're being far more selective with what women they consider options than they care to admit

I remember a doc where they did a test of this cause it's so typically said. They had two friends where the thin one ate waay more and the fat one way less and they couldn't understand it. They put some device on them both for like a week and it measured how much they ate all throughout the day. Surprise surprise, the fat one actually ate way more, mostly when alone I guess

Sorry to say, but I can't even count the amount of times I've called someone handsome or above average (irl) or I've seen other people do it where it WASN'T AT ALL TRUE. You can only tell by who actually wants to have sex with you. If you can only get 5's consistently, you're a 5.

If I knew for a fact that he was exceptionally shy about it and or autistic, I think I'd just straight up have a conversation about it. Not agressively or anything, but just ask where we were, if he was interested, if he wanted me to make the move etc. But yeah, if he wasn't I'd just take the L and move on lol

It's legal where I live and I don't think it makes any difference. It still has the same level of shame and stigma sorrounding it so "regular" people don't consider it an option. I'm sure many men secretly go, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were mostly old, disabled, hobos and foreigners. I suppose it's good for men who literally just want to feel the feeling of the physical act, but aside from that, prostitutes don't solve any issues regarding dating and social esteem; she's likely not someo…

Your example isn't equivalent though. It's more like being offered tons of water when you're starving to death. For most women, having casual sex with random men is about as enticing and/or pleasurable as a straight man being offered tons of casual sex from a gay hook-up app. Why does this keep having to be re-explained? And no, I don't think women have it harder than men either. In some ways, we have it easier. In others we do not.

It's happened maybe five times in my life, I think. Currently hasn't happened in maybe two years or more. And for the record I'm early twenties, thin, dress femininely and average to attractive face. I'm including cat calls here, I don't get those either. And I do go in public places on my own. Reading what women say on Reddit, it's like I live in another world sometimes.

Lots of good points here. Just to add what's off the top of my head, I'd say less societal pressure to be married and stay married. The "big" relationship of people's lives (the one in which they have kids) lasts less time than it used to. And no, I don't think that's inherently a bad thing; I'd rather go into a marriage on the premise that we can both leave when it just isn't working anymore than be forced to stick it out for the sake of tradition and avoiding external shaming. Not to say you s…

This is what I don't get. 50% of women I've known warch porn, it not more, taking in account the one who lie about not doing it. And all the guys I've known too. Don't think any of them had a problematic relationship with it. The only person I've ever known irl to have a porn addiction is my mother (don't ask me how I know ugh) I myself watch it about once a week and the stuff I watch is pretty degrading. Yeah, maybe I'm oldschool, but I think it's usually for the best to let the man take the lead on things like asking to be exclusive, official, declarations of love etc. Not that you can't take initiative in many other ways, but I just generally think it tends to work out better when the man is the first to say these things. Just like the woman has the lead on when sex is had for the first time.

Meet someone preferably before I'm thirty, mutual attraction and they're a nice down to earth guy who wants a family life and doesn't have any anger issues or emotional instability. We fall in love, move in together, enjoy the little things in daily life and just find that we generally work as a couple. We laugh together, we like to be in the same space even when we're not doing something together, we enjoy vacation together, we don't sweat the small stuff, we generally add to each others daily …

I mean, there's a difference between when people think about confessing love and when they actually start to feel it. It also takes a while for someone to go from falling for someone to actually understating and trusting the feeling themselves. As for the disreperancy in number of days in, I'd put that down to a gendered tradition of the guy having to be the one to say it first. I think most women just as fast as the man when they fall but they're holding off on confessing until he does first.

But his eyes add to his sexiness to me, though, like Mark Wallbergs droopy ones do too. I think if everything else on the person is attractive enough, a single "flaw" can actually add to their sex appeal, no?

Haven't read your comments, but it might've been the way in which you said it. People are quite sensitive to arrogance, especially when it comes to dating, and to be honest, as a straight woman, I'd be put off by a guy going "I know my worth" or "I'm confident and won't be treated as less than I deserve" too. It's not that those things aren't good or valuable in a person, of course they are, it's more that the act of saying it convey a wholly different meaning than actually letting the traits sp…

I think as a general rule yes because female attraction can grow over time (as in over several dates, not years) whereas male attraction is more rigid so if he feels he feels he could possibly do better at first meet, he will always feel that way and it might unintentionally influence the relationship dynamic in a negative way for both parties. But I don't think it works if its like a 7 woman dating a 2 man. It's more like the husband is a 5 and the wife is a 6 is better than the inverse or both…

I was just thinking you'd kind of need her height too cause a chubby weight on a short girl might be slim weight on a tall one. If you dgaf whether she unmatched ofc, id suggest something like this: Her: "what's your height" You: "fair question, its hard to tell these things just from pics. My height is 5'9 and weight is 160. What about yours? :)"

I think in this particular example it could be true. They're so young that the 18-year-old isn't necessarily more youthful or attractive than a 23-year-old woman. I could see a 23-year-old guy having an easier time with a girl a couple years younger because she might be a little more easily impressed than the 23 year-old. It could very easily also just be complete coincidence; he met a girl, they liked each other, the age wasn't a big deal. I mean, 18 and 23 isn't really that much of an age gap,…

If you want a man with zero "vices", you don't really want a man. Not really. Everybody's got little things they do or did that aren't perfect, jesus. You can't expect to attract a reasonable man if you're the sort of person who writes them off for "low value activities" like following an insta model because her boobs make his eyes feel good for 0.2 seconds once every other day. The latter of these two options, I guess, but I'd prefer if the "unfair/broken world" part wasn't something he spent his time pondering over. Unfair is fine, but broken... just sounds too bitter to me tbh. Especially if he's living in the western world with access to food, water, warm home and bed etc and his focus when it comes to this "brokenness" mostly revolves around things he believes affect him negatively(as opposed to things going on in third world countries or similar)

The chance of a guy saying yes in some capacity even though he's settling, but will take the easy sex anyway is much much higher than the other way round. Women will usually not go "well I'm not that attracted to him, but I'll say yes anyway cause he approached so it'd easy sex etc", they'll usually just say no.

I'm guessing 99.9999% percent of the guys saying they won't date single moms are not parents yet either. In that case, I think it's fair enough, there are good reasons not to date someone with a child when you haven't had your own yet.

I mean, there's no harm in flirting, if that's what you mean.. I think the word creepy will just keep getting used, even in situations where the person doesn't really deserve it. If you're a guy and into initiating flirtation, you're just going to have to accept that some will think you're creepy and some won't. As a woman, when someone who I found to be extremely unattractive hit on me, I did feel "creeped out" as a natural reaction. It's just that initial thought that they imagined themselves …

At least nowhere near the amount women's sexual past is lamented about Anyway, I find these kinds of things so weird. How would I know he's seen a prostitute before? Kind of vague, but sometimes I feel like guys can be better at just cutting something off when a particular boundary of his has been crossed. Like, they have certain things they won't stand for and seem better at sticking to it once they just decide "no, this isn't okay" . Maybe this is completely off base, but I just feel you see more women allowing more of her boundaries and standards to be crossed and changed for a longer period of time, like being cheated on etc Also, I saw in some YouTube e…

I mean, if you really shave away everything else, the point of life in a species is to further your genepool, preferably with the fittest/most partner(s) possible. It's innate. So the vast majority of people, no matter what they do to convince themselves otherwise, will feel incomplete being unable to have sexual and romantic relationships in their life. I guess the male drive for this is more intense because they're the pursuers and can impregnate lots of women at any time, whereas women are th…

Idk, I think there's a difference between being 34 and open to women age 24-35 and being 34 and only looking at women under 30. I'd find the latter kind of weird and offputting because it just feels hypocritical in the same way as if an overweight person refuses to date other overweight people. I think you're correct for men; if it isn't there immediately, it never will be. As a woman, though, I strongly disagree that you need immediate lust in order to have a good lustful relationship with a man later on. Nah, I think if you wanna simplify most dating issues talked about here, it comes down to a disreperancy between what a person will take vs what they can get. The further the distance between the two, the worse a time you're gonna have. And it's not always that people are clearly shooting way out of their league, sometimes it's location, lacking charisma, low self awareness, etc

Because otherwise I'd grow too emotionally attached to him, I'm a very romantic person. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be with someone who expresses that they don't care about physical appearances and only care about personality. Of course, but I think there are certain visual and behavioural things which are innately masculine/feminine and universally most desirable to the opposite gender and then there are "changing times" and individual personality things that are far more subjective to who's looking. As in, a smaller woman with long hair, soft voice and a demeanor that isn't brutish, vulgar or sexcrazed is almost always preferred with straight men. But you can be all that and still have varying levels of intelligence…

For short term, I guess he should be physically attractive, but really stupid and/or maybe moving soon. For long term, I guess I'd prefer him to be around my age or max ten years older. Mostly for kids, I wouldn't want him to be so much older that they feel like they have "the old dad" in the class. I'd want to find him attractive, as a mix of personality and looks, obviously. You don't want to be the latter. I'd say most important is body size in relation, as in wider/taller than women or in relation to the woman looking at him. It's the one huge deal breaker for most women (or at least me) if the guy is shorter and smaller/narrower than herself, whereas other things can be worked around depending on the woman. Personally, very yellow and/or fucked up teeth that look forever unbrushed are a no no, but that's veering into hygiene issues rather than looks and probably is the same for men too.

I think a lot of the less "unusual" ones, anxiety and depression mainly, definitely are affected by that. I agree that you probably need to be above average to consistently pull (and also to pull a certain caliber of woman), so the average guy will get laid some of the times he is in situations for casual sex, other times not. It also depends on his own standards and which women he spends time on. I don't mean that your average guy, if in the right social sphere, could be out there having sex with a new woman every weekend, of course not. But he could get his fair share. And he could have sex with a…

Yeah totally, I was just allowing for the fact that it is a little harder if you have some clear things that are generally considered unattractive about you. But a lot of guys on here aren't even arguing for that, they're saying even average looking guys like a lot of those incel shooters (all of which I consider average looking) can't get any sex because of their looks. Which is bull, at that point looks are not the main culprit in not getting laid

I think, for anyone who isn't noticeably below average looking, it has a lot more to do with lifestyle/situation than the individual man (I say man because casual sex isn't that much of an issue+interest to women). Men who aren't noticeably ugly/obese and consistently participate in social spheres/situations where drinking and partying and casual sex is the norm will get their fair share. I'm talking high school parties and hangouts, college culture, larger social groups that go out and include …

They enable our fugly husbands to cheat. But in seriousness, I see much more genuine viciousness from men toward female sex workers or even just sluts. Women tend to use the shame tactic on sex workers if it somehow boosts our ego or places us in a higher position than her when needed, but I don't think the hatred is actually deep felt more so than just opportunistic. Men, however, have a crazy af love/hate relationship with sex workers and sluts.

As a straight woman, I find this to be very untrue. I've seen it said a lot, but I just don't agree at all. I think it's a biased statement, not objectively true. Women are just less attracted to physical appearance alone so in order to find someone hot with no other information on them than their looks, the guy has to be clearly objectively attractive. Other guys can be found just as attractive with more information and exposure to them. I guess men find the feminine physical form, in and of it…

Yeah that makes sense too. There are many reasons to hire prostitutes, both for straight and gay men, really. Famous or married straight or gay men would have good reason to.

My theory is that, despite sex being available, it may not be available with the kinds of people you want to have it with. If you're 55, balding and fat, you'll be able to fuck balding fat 55-year-old's off of Grindr, but you'll be hard up to find a 23 year old hot stud willing to fuck you without some kind of sugar in return. Basically, when they want to fuck out of their league, they have to pay. And many are willing to.

I think men are more likely to do both, but when women do cheat, it's probably more likely to be an affair than an opportunistic ONS. If most women aren't gagging at the chance of novel opportunistic casual sex when single, they probably aren't when they're taken either. And I'm not saying men are worse people here, women can be terrible wives/partners in other ways (one thing that comes to mind is refusing sex (bar no-desire starfish duty sex) with your partner yet also expecting them not to ha…

Well, if you subscribe to the 80/20 concept, women get cheated on more, but the cheating is being done by a small amount of men. Anyway, I just think men probably cheat more (sexually) because women are just way more selective in who they'll have sex with so it's gonna take longer for them to get to a man that they'll be willing to cheat on their partner with. Women are probably more likely to emotionally and/or sexually check out on their partner without cheating, whereas men might be decent pa…

No, men should definitely be allowed to withdraw from a relationship at any point. I was just saying, it's a bit rich to compare withdrawing consent for someone to physically enter your body with withdrawing consent for someone to be your official girlfriend.

Yes, exactly my point, and I'd argue both are of course totally ok, and both will inevitably make the other party upset, but that's just life. With of course the added part that I thought it was a little rich to directly compare a situation of not allowing someone else physically inside your body to not allowing someone else your promised time, affection and monogamous commitment. If the guy didn't consider the girls withdrawal of sexual consent as being ok, the alternative is him holding her do…

What kind of wild mental gymnastics does one have to do to make this sort of argument unironically? If a guy withdraws consent for a relationship after sex, the woman can't force him to have one. She can try, but it'll warrant a restraining order at some point. If a woman withdraws consent for sex in the bedroom, the guy can just rape her. And if he does, it'll warrant legal prosecution. Both get to say no, both get upset at that, both will be looked down upon if they try to force their way anyw…

I think in general men will lower their standards on looks for casual sex. They won't so much for serious relationships. Women will do the opposite. Men who can't get any form of casual sex unless they lower their standards to a point where their penis won't get erect, of course, will have to give commitment or be sexless. If they feel they're both lowering their standards in looks and having to commit to a fullblown relationship just to get sex, I'd say they may not be being realistic about whe…

Honestly this is too black and white. As a woman, I've used tinder while filtering out anyone who gives off cues in their bio/pics/initial messages that they're looking for quick hook ups and also making sure my own bio and pics don't give off that vibe. The result has been that 99% of my messages are from down to earth guys who would never dream of trying to be sexual off the bat and are more than interested in talking and getting to know one another. The reason certain ethnicities are considered least attractive in either gender is (for the most part) not societal pressure or conditioning, it's because they generally inhabit more genetical characteristics that are less naturally attractive to straight members of their opposite sex, and there's not much that can be done to change it as it's just biology. Men fall in romantic love based almost entirely on looks, but in lust based on their own need to reproduce and the object of their lust hitt…

Sure, there are women who lose attraction because the guy just stops trying to woo her or he becomes boring because he's a sure thing. But I think what a lot of women are saying when they say the guy stopped trying is that, somewhere along the way, he stopped treating her like the sexy woman he fell in love with and more like a piece of furniture that keeps his house clean and packs his lunch. It depends. As a woman who's been guilty of this myself before, there's a very real chance that maybe the first woman was telling the truth and then the others felt pressured to agree because it's kind of a humble brag ego boost and no one wants to be the one woman who doesn't have guys being clingy with her. Kind of like if a group of women talk to each other about harmless street harassment, I've experienced it turn almost into a competition of who gets it the most. Humble brag, again. On the …

I always gathered it was more so a difference in cleanliness standards and urgency between the genders causing this. Like, the man wouldn't mind leaving the dishes for the next morning or not vacuuming quite as often, but the woman would so she ends up beating him to it every time

Maybe I've got it wrong here, but what you described doesn't sound like ghosting to me. If one person decides to ghost and then the other does too, I don't see it as ghosting; ghost + ghost = no ghost. I don't know, it would depend on the guy and what I sensed about him. It's more that if he gives the vibe that he's super desperate and doesn't care who he'd with as long as he has someone, then what does that say about me? If it's more that he simply felt those women were his "league" or that betterlooking women never showed interest, that wouldn't be a deterrent. I think the issue comes when the emphasis is placed on "casual sex". I still think that women want that less, in and of itself, than men do. The privilege women do have is more so feeling desired. I'll go out on a limb and say that a large percentage of enjoyment derived from casual sex for women (and to a lesser extent also men) is feeling the other party's desire. We can go out, swipe for a minute and we'll find people who'll make it known they desire us. Be it a cheap and low-cost low-reward …

I think there are compulsive cheaters, probably with lower-than-average empathy and likeliness to cheat regardless of circumstances, and then people who may cheat at some point in the relationship/their life given the right circumstances. The latter category is like 99% of all people - maybe less so women because they don't have the impulsive physical incentive that men do.

If I was thinking in terms of longterm potential, I'd probably be focusing mostly on whether he'd been able to commit in the past (depending on his age) and whether he'd been in love/loved a woman before. It would be a major, major plus if he had, especially the love part. Agree, but I think it isn't necessarily societies fault, it's just a natural prejudice derived from the fact that a lot of men often want sex in and of itself more than women do. It's unhealthy to think like this, though, because every man, woman, relation is different and it serves you worse in the end, whatever gender you are. Well that statement just proves that it works well on men, not women. Also, the reason "Chad" would say yes to it from a less attractive woman, hence Chadfishing, is that most women don't give out propositions like that randomly. Come on, this is just coping. Sure, makeup puts women at a slight advantage, but that advantage kind of gets cancelled out by the fact that it's the norm for every woman to wear it. Women's attractiveness is highly dependent on genetics, and so are mens. Straight men aren't expected to wear makeup and tend to look less attractive to straight women wearing it because makeup is made to enhance feminine beauty.

Yes, as a woman who is definitely not autistic, but quite socially inept, a female version of red pill would definitely appeal to me due to its "just press this button and then that one and then the red one last and you can't go wrong" type black and white easiness. It sort of saves you having to navigate the risky vague parts of socialising and gives a (false) illusion of a foolproof manual to success, no awkward treading of social waters without a clue.

Well, if men decided to go with that mindset, the crucial part is that they'd have to be willing to walk away or "lose" the option of sex with the woman if she doesn't agree. I think the reason this is a common dynamic in dating is that the woman is more content with losing the man (and/or the potential of sex with him). The one who can more easily walk away is always the one with more power. I don't think most decent women, myself included, consider their time more valuable per say. It's just t…

Right, but I'm not saying that that's what is going to be the most favorable way to prioritize, I'm just saying that, from what I've seen, it seems to be the most common one

I agree to an extent, but I honestly think looks far supersede n count, even for longterm. As long as she isn't currently looking or acting slutty, especially in a way where his social circle finds out, looks are much higher on the priority list for men

100% yes. The biggest problem with OLD imo, is the inability to hear someone's voice, see their mannerisms, their facial expressions, smell them even. This is especially the case for women. As a woman, if I'm on OLD, I find 1/10 guys attractive from just the pictures, but in real life I find like 6/10 age appropriate guys attractive after having spoken a little. It's a massive difference and I think it accounts for a lot of the "women are shallow" and 80/20 nonsense

Aren't most simps and pickme's just people constantly shooting out of their own league? So, assuming a simp and a pickme were in the same league as each other, they'd both consider the other one not good enough for them

Sure, men and women get older every year they continue living, it is what it is, and thirty is probably where it starts to happen. I obviously don't think it's this like some immediate bang and you're void of sex appeal, you can be older/less universally attractive as you age, but still be hella attractive to your peers. Despite what red pill claims, for every "post wall" woman, there's a bazillion male counterparts more than content with how she looks, older like himself. As long as you look at…

I dont know, I'm very young so I'll assume I'll find it more creepy if one day I'm older and I have a 22-year-old daughter who's getting hit on by men my own age. I think people always become more sensitive to these things when they have children. That's one of the things for me; a large amount of men in, say, their 40's to 50's will have daughters in their early twenties. Usually, at least from what I've seen, that acts as a huge deterrent for these men in dating women that much younger; people…

Yeah, and I'm completely like this. Even with people I'm completely comfortable with, half the time I just can't be bothered talking; it's boring if there's nothing that needs to be said. But one of my biggest insecurities when it comes to guys is the fear of not talking enough/being too shy; I feel like they consider me boring, uninterested and dry when I don't have that much to say. It just makes me so uncomfortable because I judge myself so hard when I can't come up with a good answer in conv…

I've had this issue too! It's really weird and baffling. The guys that I've felt more comfortable to open up with would be normal or even not that into me, but I've had several people that I'd been so incredibly shy with I could hardly utter a coherent sentence and they'd be soo into me, confess their love etc, I never got that. Does extreme shyness translate as being mysterious or something?

No, I wouldn't do that. I never have any sex, let alone casual sex, so it wouldn't change much for me personally at the moment, but I just don't think it's healthy for society to restrict people's sexualities that much. I'd rather be celibate or whatever until I met a man that I loved who was willing to choose to only have non-casual sex with me (and I think lots of those people do still exist, they may just be more introverted and harder to initially spot), than be with someone who might only b…

I mean, I don't agree with any of this, but if the first part of the question were true for me, I guess I'd want to know about his sexual/romantic past too. When did he lose his virginity, has he had any proper relationships, how much casual sex has he had, has he cheated in his past relationships. Also, has he ever been in love before. I just saw a lot of comments on the OG post mentioning how he could possibly just be ignorant and be capable of changing his mindset etc and I just wanted to point out that that could be true, but still not mean that this girl has to stay with him through it. I mean, I agree that this guy is very young and could have just been ignorant and might, if he tries to understand his mistakes, grow into a decent man one day. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN SHE SHOULDN'T STILL DUMP HIM. In fact - although I don't think she should care about this - he'd have a better chance of seeing he did wrong if she dumped him for this than if she just had a little "talk" and he was immediately forgiven. I question whether women being feminine virgins and choosing to marry when young at peak attractiveness to a man that loves her instead of riding "the cc" even makes a difference. This always gets put as what a woman should do if she wanted to be truly happy and not die alone after hitting the wall, but I just don't think that this alternative is all that safe for women either. The argument is that the man will love her, have wife goggles and always see her as this young beautiful angel and they…

Yeah, I've definitely known and seen some women who had higher physical standards than men I knew, but that's all anecdotal and all in all, I think I've known an equal number of each from every gender. I'm hesitant to say men have higher standards because, again, it's seemed pretty equal to me in real life, but I have noticed that men do place higher importance on their partners looks, not just early on, but through the relationship. You conveniently leave out the fact that men seperate women into two categories of attractiveness; 1. Attractive enough to date/fall in love with, and 2. Fuckable. Most of these "widened and lower preferences" that men have fall into the latter category. Women do not care if they fall into that category; we know it means nothing. It means nothing because all you have to do to fall into the average man's second category is not be obese, deformed and/or exceptionally ugly, and it means nothing bec…

I don't think Karen's are considered particularly attractive. The meme isn't really rooted in anything looks-related (although it does usually get associated with the manager hair cut and 40+ white women). Anyway, I think people who've always been really naturally good-looking, and grew up that way, tend to be pretty nice. The world's been nice to them and so they've become nice people in return. I don't like the word excusable because, in terms of a relationship, neither are excusable (although some couples can come back from cheating, but it still needs to be excused/apologized and made up for). But obviously, there's a reason beating is literally illegal, whether in a relationship or not, and cheating isn't. My rule of thumb is cheating does not, in all cases, have to end in breaking up. I mean, why do men(or women) of any smv treat other men, friends or not, elders, strangers, uglies, etc with respect? Because they like being decent people and it doesn't cost them anything. Respect is something most people like to receive and hand out in return. I don't see why you'd need to receive anything other than reciprocal respect in return. Again, it doesn't cost anything to be decent.

I agree that mens looks peak around the same age as women. It's just that their smv is based on more things than just that so the drop isn't as bad. Women's smv is largely built on looks, so... That's the point.

Number 1 is so so true. I don't use any social media bar reddit, but I've had tinder before and, as a woman, the number one thing that made it hard for me to feel in any way excited about going on there and checking my matches and messages was the fact that we met on a dating app. It's not a judgemental thing, it's just like there's an excitement that's been completely removed because from the off we both know we're talking with romantic intent and nothing else. I guess trp offers a sense of hope to guys who otherwise would've just had to accept "I'm ugly, that's it". That "old soul" part was cringey and sounds like wishful thinking to me. Studies have shown that women who date much older are generally less attractive than women who date within (reasonable) age range. I don't know why this doesn't get mentioned more often, but aside from money, the biggest reason a young woman dates up exclusively is that her youth halos her to the older guy so he views and treats her like she's better looking than her male peers would.

I agree a little, I wouldn't advocate for it. That being said, they're far too black and white and refuse that there are lots of age gap relationships that do work well. As a 22 year old, personally, I'd lose a bit of respect for a guy if he actively exclusively pursued women more than 5 years younger than himself. It's different if you're one connection out of many in varying age groups, but if he refuses to date his age, I personally wouldn't date him.

Men base a lot more of their opinions of you on superficial aspects than you think, romantically speaking. It'd only be a problem if he did it out of sex addiction, general disrespect for women or if he treated the prostitutes disgustingly and looked down on them for doing their job. If he was just horny and needed what he needed when he needed it, as long as he was respectful to the prostitute, I wouldn't mind. Might even find it a turn on to hear about, given the right circumstances.

Yes, if that were the norm for marriage, I guess. But since it isn't, being offered this might make me feel odd about the man's level of commitment since every other woman was getting regular marriage. It might make me think "why do I have to be th woman who gets a different, less" committed" version of marriage when every other woman I know has their partner willing to go with the norm. It's less abut the money and marriage itself and more about it having been instilled in us since we were litt…

No. I find it eye-roll inducing when either gender chases (mostly unsuccessfully) out of their league past teenage years. There's something wrong upstairs if you didn't subconsciously set your superficial expectations for what you can realistically get like every other normal grown adult. I wouldn't necessarily dislike the person, but I wouldn't want to date them, whether I was the hottie they wanted or the uggo they settled for.

Hm, no I think those traits just often develop within men who are already attractive. You rarely find unattractive guys acting like Mr. Bigballs, trying to carelessly break hearts left right and center. It's just that when a man realizes he's been delt a lot in life where he has many attractive options, he'll often start to act accordingly. Often it'll get to his head (and yeah, same thing happens with a lot of women). I think most women are attracted to a physically attractive, confident and fu…

Well, as a young woman too, I think it's not so much that we don't find older men attractive (within limits). It's just that part of attraction is having stuff in common and being on an emotional wavelength. I can imagine having sex with an older guy, but I can't imagine a relationship with someone so far removed from where I am in life so I wouldn't. Also there's just something in me that immediately feels iffy about a guy that chooses to date someone much younger, even if that girl is me, even…

I suppose you could turn off everyone's internet and TV and see if it makes a difference. Other than that you'd have to somehow convince the men that prefer gaming/internet porn/fake online relationships and the women who are content with celibacy and/or monogamy when love/Chad fwb comes around that they'd be happier going with one another and all coupling up equally. Immediate, usually yes it's unrealistic, especially if said girl is average or above herself. Raw, strong and super intense sexual attraction after some time no way in hell. Immediate sexual attraction doesn't happen much for women, I don't think. I don't even think most women would hook up with a 10/10 "Chad" immediately if she didn't know him at all. I guess because everyone in the world will experience being old, but not everyone will experience being short. I think genuinely funny men are always more attractive because of that trait. That being said, there's a difference between funny guy and what I usually refer to as Mr. Funny Guy. I wasn't really talking about sympathy here. I have the same level of sympathy for the men and the women in this scenario. But the fact that so many men on here will point out that only the men in this scenario should be sympathized with because hey, the woman gets laid, is what I'm not quite understanding. I think the best comparison is the friend zone for guys. They'll orbit some girl who'll give them friendly attention because that's all they can get from her, just like sometimes an ugly girl will let herself be pump-and-dumped by some guy who won't even be friendly with her because that's all she can get from him. I can't fathom how guys can't see that these are the opposite gender-equivalents, even when they readily admit that there's a difference between how men and women function in regards …

Uhm, I don't think you'll have much luck if you say anything sexually right off the bat. The most you can do is give very flirty eyecontact and half-smiles that creates a sexual tension between you and her - given she reciprocates, that is. If she does, I think with a lot of women you can get away with a half-selfdeprecating little boyish grin while saying something like "I really like your, uhm... necklace" or "really like those... jeans" (while glancing at her chest or bum). As a girl, I have to say this I get that it's difficult if the girl isn't talking much herself, but you must try and stand your ground and make it non-verbally clear to her that you expect her to add 50% to the conservation too. Talking too much in a date setting, even if it's just because the other person talks too little, gives the impression of insecurity. Definitely, but I wouldn't use the examples that you did. Those sound more like things people do out of comfortability/feelings left over/availability. Yeah, I'd say it was those two things, as well as the fact that we shared the same kind of humour. I'd also add that because I was talking to him as a friend and not thinking of it in terms of attraction, it gave me more time to grow comfortable looking at him and eventually his looks just became connected to the chemistry we had and so I didn't see him as objectively as I had before I knew him. They're important to the extent where if the thought of having sex with someone that looks like them literally makes me cringe to my core, I will never be attracted no matter what. This is true. I also read somewhere in a study that women who dated much older men were on average less (objectively) attractive than their peers who dated within their age range. Honestly no, unless we're talking arranged marriage or 90day fiance type of stuff. I think the vast majority of women are sexually attracted to a guy when they decide to marry him. It's just that once she realizes he's a stable thing and if his behavior is generally good perfect adoring husband-like with no "alpha" aspects, that's when I feel women are inclined to have the attraction slowly fade off. Hm, on one hand I get what youre saying and theres nothing worse than giving someone your complete trust only to find out youve been lied to and disrespected all along. That being said, idk if not trusting people by default is so much better. As much as ive seen people who were too trusting, Ive also seen soooooo many people be too insecure when they had no reason to. As a woman, I know how the cheating stats are and how men tend to work, but I think I'll prefer to keep my trusting nature and tr…

Well, that's the most realistic answer for me personally because otherwise (without feelings) I pretty much don't like having sex, but if I had to fuck one of them and I didn't at all know these hypothetical men save for the qualities you've mentioned, I guess I'd pick the better looking one. If I had to be intimate with someone I didn't have feelings for, I'd be less repulsed if that person at least had nice skin and looked better objectively. I don't really care about great skills, I can't ask…

Very unnattractive and/or obese women who say theyre lesbian/asexual often choose subconsciously to be those things as a "well, I didnt wanna be invited to your party anyways haha" selfdefense mechanism, but then insist with every fibre in their being that they were just born this way. Not that I mind, theyre probably better off.

My god, I'd never have the confidence to do that, I admire you so much for that. Especially when the guy is extremely attractive, I'd never dare make a first move on someone like that because I'd assume they were out of my league. Also, I don't think guys typically give false numbers on purpose, they seem less shy of confrontation in general than us girls so he probably did just get it wrong by accident. Good luck !

I'd say it depends on what kind of man you're looking for and what kind of "basis" you have underneath the makeup. I wear no makeup for the most part, but when I do it's mascara and some lip+cheek tint. If im having skin issues, I prefer to work on my skin instead of covering with foundation and that kind of thing. Bad skin is usually the number one thing people get freaked out about in those "the power of makeup" images. Some guys do like a makeuppy look, but not most and definitely not most of…

This. It's a bit risky to assume it's all just down to an unrealistically low self-perception when in reality part of healthy self-preservation for a woman is to feel out whether a guy is so "out of her league" that he'll more likely than not just be going for a hook-up and nothing more. Sure, once in a while people have low self esteem and are actually better looking than they think, but generally if you feel that someone is so out of your league that they intimidate you and it feels too good t…

Yeah, but I guess it depends on what you base "no way in hell" off of. When I for instance say "no way in hell" I don't mean a nope, no initial attraction, I mean someone who is in some way so wildly far from anything you could ever be attracted to that you know (unless they made changes) it just wouldn't happen. An example would be someone who's really morbidly obese, has lost almost all their teeth due to bad hygiene, is forty years your senior, is three heads shorter than you, never showers, …

I think the key is that the idea of becoming attracted to them has to seem at least possible to you. Ive definitely experienced feeling nothing at first and then developing even insane attractions later on. This has, however, never happened with someone where I felt downright put off at the thought of being with them at first. I think (for me at least) a guy can go from neutral to attractive, but not "no way in hell" to attractive.

I think maybe when they say sexual peak they don't mean sexual attractiveness peak, but rather when people have their own inner sexual peak. Meaning, men are most horny around age 18 or so and women become hornier later on. Not necessarily that those people are most attractive to others at those ages.
