or some working 20h as part time and someone else working 50 hours... and the 50h person gasp earns more than double from the 20h person... so, you work overtime and get more money. Even overtime pay if you're lucky!

the word you are looking for is stoicism. control what you can control: your own vote. do not worry about what you can not control: the outcome of the election.

That's the spirit. Sometimes in live you do everything right an still lose (Picard, IIRC). Never worry about what you can not control anyway (stoic teachings), enjoy the journey instead :) Also, thanks for setting the course straight. I really hate the constant deviations.

I am not from the US, but I think you got the part about taxes wrong or misleading. As I understood it, you pay a certain rate of tax for the money in that bracket. If you earn below the first bracket, you pay no taxes. If you earn in the first bracket, you have a certain amount tax free and then tax the rest with the first bracket etc pp so if you earn $40000 you are in one bracket. if you get a raise to $40001 you still pay the same taxes on the first 40k and 24% only on that one dollar above …

Yeah about the parents: I live with my parents! I bought a house a few years ago and when they sold theirs, because they are now elderly and can't / don't want to do all the work around a house anymore, they moved in the downstairs apartment. Best renters ever :) So FU, bitch! Bonus: my dad brought everything from his wood-workshop along, we combined and now have one super-workshop :D

If you study that stuff, you can find a huge overlap with psychology, if you take away the bells and whistles. And weed out the bullshit. I enjoy many aspect of spirituality that work, many things are now considered psychology that are coming from spiritual practice. Just like meditation. And I like the aesthetics. And chicks in yoga pants.

About educstion: many online courses are now available at a very reduced rate, I am not saying you should spend a lot of money, but I got me several courses that I would have never ordered at full price. Working through the first now and it's awesome :)

not sure how it went in other countries, but once the germans were defeated in belgium, those who did it voluntarily faced hard repercussions. Men were executed and women treated as pariahs, starting with a public headshaving. I think there's even a scene about it in band of brothers. (edit: the men worked with the germans, not slept with them)

I see this more as a focusing - you have a lot of spaces to post whatever, but this sub has a specific focus the mod(s) want to adhere to. Try posting about smithing in a woodworking sub. Sure you will have a good post probably with good pics and awesome formatting. But removing it from the wrong sub is not censoring.

Lean back and think what these plans really mean to you. What aspect did you want to experience? What things did you want to do, to try? Consider, what is at the core of what you dreamed of. It could be "I love the ocean and want to travel" or "I want an all-inclusive experience". Or whatever, only you know. Then do that.

Adding to this or rather expanding the First officer thing: trust and reliability. She's having my back under all and any circumstances and has proven to be this way in the past several times. Even if I am wrong she is having my back - not that she doesn't talk with me about it afterwards (and rightfully so), but she will not let me hanging. Can any "26 y/o HB" deliver this? Nope. I can understand it a little bit, but it's still bs. In germany most cars are manual and automatic is kinda exotic. I drove one a few times and I once slammed on the brake when I wanted to uncouple (?) so I could just roll slowly to the corner. So yeah, it is different but no rocket surgery.

Putting kids to be is my wife's duty - she can always ask for help, but then she has to admit she can't own her shit (at least temporarily) and she has to ask nicely, because she wants a favor from me.

Keep in mind how much bravery your therapy requires - I know too many people who went through shit (we all do, some more some less) and never dare to face it again. To be honest, I despise them. I have been through a lot of therapy for depression and came out much much stronger. So, respect yourself! And it's mental work you are doing there, so plan ahead to be exhausted and schedule in times to refill your mental batteries.

when women moved into occupations in large numbers, those jobs began paying less even after controlling for education, work experience, skills, race and geography. So the supply (quantity) of workers increased and they wonder that the price drops? I was once approached while having consenting outdoor sex with a woman and I told them to get lost - while I kept fucking my partner. Nail in the coffin? His father's letter. Sorry, that is so terribly stupid! His father admits his son's guilt implicitly. And that guy probably told his father everything, I mean, wh…

This has been in my head since yesterday. There are two very definite circumstances where I would raise another man's child: my brother and his wife die, I would take in their children without any hesitation. I am the godfather to a friends' son. If he and his wife would die I would take that boy in without any hesitation as well. One is family and the other is an honor and obligation I picked up on my own free will. That's it. Guy from AA? Total idiot who will be in for a rough awakening all to…

For instance I've been saving every penny Not sure this is mentioned enough: saving isn't always optimal, sometimes you need to invest money. You might want to invest into yourself by getting a better education and thus increasing your income. If you earn 20k per year and save 10% you'll have maybe 30k after 10 years. If you invest money into your education, get a better payed job and keep saving 10% you might end up with 300k.

I also prefer Garmin, but that's purely a personal choice. What I can recommend is to get one with a lifetime update plan, since your maps will be outdated in a few years and new maps cost about the same as a new GPS. I paid 20€ or so extra for a lifetime update plan and use the device for about 5 years now. New maps would have cost me several hundreds by now (I need whole western europe). Also check out battery times and stuff.

I did some archery as a teenager and I really enjoyed it. I can recommend you take a course or so, so you can try it out without buying all the equipment. And a course heavily depends on the teacher and the classmates you get, so if it sucks, maybe try another. If you have a good teacher that can control his class, I think you will enjoy it - does he start with theory and safety? Else it's probably crap. Bows are weapons and should be treated like such. Even a rather blunt arrowhead can do a lot…

If a real rape was happening, a sane person only objective would be is to make sure that the perpetrator rots in jail for as long as possible (and I support that 100%) That's something I was wondering about, why don't the "rape-victims" go straight to the police? Does the university hold any legal power? If someone stole my car on campus and even if I was absolutely sure it was done by another student, I wouldn't go to the dean - I'd call the police.

Don't worry, you don't sound like a dick - I was just confused that I couldn't explain it any better. I think the problem is the age difference, so let me try to tell it differently. For you (as I read from your posts) independence and freedom are the main goals right now and - I guess - you are still dependend on your parents. This pairs up nicely, since that freedom is what you lack most right now and once you achieve it, you say you would never give it up, for anything. That's a good point to…

I took my decision [...] I am going my own way Don't know how this can be unclear. Yes, I am in the "mgtow can be married and have family" - corner. I wasn't born or raised this way. It was around when I crossed into my 30s that I got a divorce and was suddenly "alone". With some debt, thanks to ex-bitch. But aside from that I was suddenly completely free. I had a good job, low stress with good money, so I quickly payed off my debt and was really free. Then I had a good long look at my life so f…

I'm a father myself, still to a toddler. I don't know, if I will be happier or not in the long run and actually do not care that much. I took my decision and now I carry the responsibility for it: I wanted to be a father and so I am going my own way and everyone in this thread trying to tell me what I should be doing: read the name of this sub and then go fuck yourself :)

I kind of enjoy walking around with last night on my skin and in my hair. I find that repulsive. The article is really eye-opening in a different way for me: She doesn't need to work much or did I get that wrong? She's always working out and hanging around in bars... fascinating, I never noticed this type of leech.
