EXACTLY - because he was "a good goal scorer". There was mention of awww but rehabilitation - but there was no apology or any type of rehab on his part. People defending this signing have said that it shouldn't be a life sentence - why not??? The victim has to live with this for the rest of her life. Fuck him - he should get a job cleaning toilets, that's all he's good for.

Raith Rovers in Scotland signed a rapist because "he was a good goal scorer". Club was sponsored by feminist author who has withdrawn her sponsorship, women's team have removed all mention of the club and want to rebrand themselves and play elsewhere and several people have resigned (including 2 male board members who voted not to sign him). Shocked pikachu face when the club was surprised a the backlash. 24hrs later - club says player will not play - haven't clarified if they will continue to p…

The problem is that guilty men often join search parties to help find missing women. Ted Bundy did that a lot. But yeah.... he did it.

Remember in that episode of Friends when that rich guy wants to date Monica. He wrote her a cheque for her tip which was 10 grand if I remember right. The girls called it out as disrespectful. And when he did take her out for pizza on the first date, they flew to Italy for it. That's the way rich people should take you out for pizza.

I had someone do this to me. A customer. So I said "I don't understand". They then told me it was a joke. To which I then replied: "a joke, how lovely" like I was talking to a child trying to tell a joke.

Literally Handmaid's Tale - in one month. Your whole life changed in the space of one month. The sudden removal of troops leaves blood on the hands of the decision makers. Plus this time, they've left a fuck-ton of military equipment as a leaving present. All of these decisions have been made by men.

Honestly, when you look through history at what women endured at the hands of men - the oppression, abuse (physical, sexual, verbal, societal) and lack of any autonomy, women have been pretty even tempered and calm - basically suffering in silence. Even my mothers generation (post-war) had to put up with so much crap. Sexual assault, discrimination and oppression. Women are extraordinarily patient too - remember it took over 100 years of campaigning for women's right to vote and that only got a …

I agree. But honestly, I'm done giving money to corrupt companies. I cut out Amazon 6 months ago, supermarket chains a year ago and try to spend my money with small and ethical companies. How we spend our money impacts our lives and can change things for the better. I hadn't thought about hotels selling porn until I saw this and now I will make a point to ask about hotel policy on porn if I book a room somewhere. I am trying to practice what I preach.

Sadly this is just based in the US but it would be good if we can ramp up the pressure worldwide for all hotels to.remove porn. I mean.... if you can put a Bible in every room, then you should remove porn. From the site: The “No Vacancy for Exploitation” campaign is about supporting hotel chains that have removed pornography from their in-room offerings. The hotel sector is a key player in fighting sexual exploitation. Pornography is part of the interconnected web of sexual exploitation. When yo…

If you are thinking about switching therapists, maybe see if there is one who practices EMDR therapy. I haven't tried it myself but apparently it is really affective for trauma. Good luck and don't take any shit from therapists. When men are useless in bed, even when you tell them what to do, they ignore you because they still think they know better than you, the woman. If men spent as much time perfecting giving women pleasure as they do on games, they'd probably actually get all the sex they wanted.

Like when the media counts down dates until a young actress / singer becomes 'legal'. With the legal age in the UK being 16, I hated seeing young 15 year old girls have a countdown to when some depraved me were allowed to fuck them, all over the media. Ugh. I dunno - I always get vibes that she's been abused and her songs are so sexual for her age - she's so young. Didn't she sing 'Might seduce your dad type' in Bad Guy - that song came out when she was 16/17. That's not normal for a teen unless she had been sexualised earlier than she should. I was always more into cars and motobikes and partying when I was younger so never took the time to properly learn how to apply make up, so if I did wear make up, it's minimal. This is completely true. Its so much easier to do it alone - both financially and physically - than with a useless meat sack. That's what happened with me. While I agree in principle, if she had worries, she could leave. If I can manage to escape an abusive relationship with a small child and no money, then she could have done the same. Bill is on a different league and if she was worried about the comings and goings in the house of people she didn't know, she could have moved out in a flash and lived in a hotel. I'm sorry - with her, I don't buy it. There's something off with all the elite 0.01% rich.

There are not enough accountants in the industry (in the UK for sure, probably elsewhere too) - they are desperate for them. The story of Cathy O'Brien is a really disturbing but important book: "TRANCE Formation of America: True life story of a mind control slave: The True Life Story of a CIA Mind Control Slave". She's been labelled a conspiracy theorist to dismiss her claims. Horrific what she went through. Anyone who knows about MK Ultra and various other human experimentations in history, will see similarities in this book.

Nope - I'm sorry but no, she doesn't get a pass. She's been a rich woman for many decades. She has the means to leave if she wanted but she didn't. If she knows and does nothing, she is complicit. It makes me angry to see these sort of stories play out - she is as entitled as he is, and quite possibly as depraved. She has done nothing.

How about having sex the first time after he proposes.... but only once. He has one shot to prove that he knows what he's doing and isn't a selfish ass in bed. After that, a decision is made regarding the proposal. If he's shit in bed, then that's a no on the marriage. If he's attentive and is good in bed, then the marriage can proceed but no more sex after that one time till the wedding.

For a start I think women are pitted against each other by men. When we are left to our own devices, we befriend other women easily (see any nightclub toilet queue). It's also interesting that women investors consistently out-perform men: https://www.forbes.com/advisor/investing/woman-better-investors/ They aren't so hot headed, research more and take less risks which rewards them with more returns. PUT US IN CHARGE, WE WOULD SORT SHIT OUT! :)

In psychoanalytic literature, a Madonna-whore complex is the inability to maintain sexual arousal within a committed, loving relationship. First identified by Sigmund Freud, under the rubric of psychic impotence, this psychological complex is said to develop in men who see women as either saintly Madonnas or debased prostitutes. Men with this complex desire a sexual partner who has been degraded (the whore) while they cannot desire the respected partner (the Madonna). Freud wrote: "Where such me…

Agreed. Women are always sex objects. One of the most irritating pieces of language that "journalists" use about women is "flaunting". She absolutely was not flaunting her belly. I wish they would stop using flaunting when they mean existing. They would NEVER say a man is flaunting his legs in those shorts. he did escape from prison twice so you're probably not wrong. First time he just jumped out of an open window. "When I visited him in Glenwood, I noticed that he had lost a lot of weight," Bundy's former defence lawyer John Henry Browne told 20/20. "I'd say he lost 20 or 25 pounds. I would think this would've come to the attention of the jailers perhaps. 'Why is he doing this?'" Browne might have found Bundy's dramatic loss of weight strange, but his jailers dismissed it as just another attempt …

Agreed - I find 'charming' people (often men tbh) a bit slimy so that's probably my intuition kicking in. I became a bit interested in psychopaths a while back. Another trait is rushing forward in relationships - ie super keen to lock down moving in etc. Red flags should be a-fluttering if a man is trying to move the relationship forward too quickly - they are trying to lock it down as typically, psychopaths don't have a lot of patience to wait for you to take your time. Years ago I worked on a documentary about Ted Bundy. He was a psychopath. This picture doesn't do him justice - he was a fairly good looking man who had a lot of charisma - something that psychopaths have in buckets. He did target women by appearing helpless, and then did a ton of disturbing things after killing the women, including styling their hair and putting on make up. Wow I'd never heard of this bit I just had a quick search: The understanding of women's motivations for joining the beguinages has changed dramatically in recent decades. The development of these communities is clearly linked to a preponderance of women in urban centers in the Middle Ages, but while earlier scholars like the Belgian historian Henri Pirenne believed that this "surplus" of women was caused by men dying in war, that theory has been debunked. Since the groundbreaking work of John Ha…

Because men usually only have humour to fall back on as they often don't take care of themselves and level themselves up. They see couples where the woman says she was attracted to her husband because he made her laugh and think that's a sure fire way into a lady's pants. They forget that to keep a woman, they need to back up the humour with so, so many other things.

It comes from a 1938 play and two films where a husband was trying to make his wife think she was going mad. He turned down the gas lamps so the room got dimmer but denied to her that the room was darker. It's a great thriller! https://en.www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaslight_(1944_film) Won Oscars I think.

Nope. No such thing as a good guy at heart. If he was that great, he'd show it. Unless he's giving someone his heart for a transplant and then dying....

Congrats on your freedom! Lovely to see all the vintage ladies here. Hopefully our experiences will help the next generation avoid all the shit we endured.

Yes I'd agree with galvan. It's amazing how much younger you feel when you drop the dead weight. I'm in my second you have again, with new found fresh eyes. Another bonus is that the LVM are much much easier to spot as they hit the wall, get fat and lose their ability to hide the red flags as well as they did when they were younger. Older men are so obvious.

Heres my advice from someone who did all the wrong things. Don't sacrifice your life's path and goals for your partner. Never let your dreams and goals take a back seat for your partner's goals. They won't appreciate it and you can end up broke and stuck if the relationship ends. Make sure you always keep a separate bank account, even if you have a joint one for mutual expenses. Most guys want to have sex with you. Even your guy friends. They get worse and more obvious as they get older. I used …

This is true. And nip things in the bud when they happen (Ie bring issues to their attention straight away).... don't let things slide. Once they can get away with poor behaviour, they will keep doing it. Like children. I've wasted so many of my years being abused or recovering from abuse. DON'T BE ME.

I'm the ripe old age of 50ish! Not really old but old compared to most people here I think. It's so weird how people think that not getting hit by your partner isn't the basic of human decency. Imagine someone complaining about their shitty job and someone replies "at least your boss doesn't hit you". There are so many things that make a man low value. It's not always limited to violence.... honestly, something as basic as forgetting my birthday is low value tbh. And now for me, something that s…

that's so funny - I'm the same. I can not only make clothes from a pattern, follow a recipe but I can also renovate properties and run all my accounts. If I need something doing that I can't do (electrics for example), I pay for someone to do that stuff. I am high-fiving you!!

I was a single mum and I found friends in the school yard. I'd set up play dates between my kids and other kids and then invite the mums over. A bottle of wine helps too and there are usually loads of mums so you can slowly work your way through them all as you find your gang. I found other single mums as well. You will also end up with support on the child care front as well.

I had a friend who asked her boyfriend to marry her. They were married for 10 years. They both had their issues but he was simply a noodle spine. He also didn't have a relationship with his kids because his ex's "made it too hard" - which I didn't believe for a moment. My friend eventually found his adult kids on facebook and reunited them - he couldn't even be bothered to get in touch with his kids when they hit 18. Red flags all over the place. Contrast this with another male friend of mine wh…

Personally I think it's really important for your mental health to be active doing something every day - I think that's why rich wives always have their charities to keep them occupied when they don't work. If I had the option, I would go back to learning something if someone was looking after things financially. I never went to University and am now taking an accountancy course in my 50s. If I had the chance to do a degree without having to work, I would love that. I think this would be a great…

It's definitely about being more self sufficient - as we can see, there is rarely any help from the government in these situations so it falls to the community and family. If you like that, I'd highly recommend learning basic DIY and get yourself some tools. I've saved literally thousands by learning how to renovate properties and I'm a 50 yr old woman so if I can do it, so can everyone! Good luck :)

yeah there seems to be 2 types of preppers - end of the world prepping or disaster prepping. Your ex sounds like the first. Like what was he going to do with an electric tower??? I could have understood if it was to get out of a high building in case of fire.... Prob a good job he's an ex ;)

I agree (and me too - I'm subbed to all those things and also homestead and offgrid). Prepping is not just for the apocalypse - it's being prepared for all sorts of things like evacuating from wildfires, dealing with floods and being cut off for a period of time, being snowed in, losing power in an area etc. I remember a few years ago there was a Fuel strike and no one could get petrol so supermarkets were getting cleared out and not restocked (UK in early 2000s). Or like me, a freelancer who do…

The human mind is wired to see patterns. Not only does the brain process information as it comes in, it also stores insights from all your past experiences. Your intuition has been developing and expanding for as long as you’ve been alive. Every interaction, happy or sad, is cataloged in your memory. Intuition draws from that deep memory well to inform your decisions going forward. In other words, intuitive decisions arebased on data, in a way. When we subconsciously spot patterns, the body star…

When you leave with a child and worry about how hard it will be to be a single parent, don't. I have been in your position and once I left, I had MORE time, MORE money and less stress. I realised I was only looking after my child, not my partner And my child. It was so much easier doing it on my own than being with an unhelpful and abusive partner. Good luck, though you won't need it!

I'm in my early 50s. Had a baby with a LVM and just didn't know any better. My son is an adult now and is amazing. Definitely a HVM but has been really hurt by his first relationship so he's stayed single for a few years. I've had so much stuff to sort in my head (plus dealing with depression for multiple bereavenents) that I've been completely and utterly single the past decade. I don't miss sex and now really enjoy my own company. When I decided to sort my self out, I figured that if I was in …

Yeah it's a pretty poor ratio of women in both cars and bikes. The feeder classes are trying to get more girls on bikes from about 9-10 years old so hopefully we'll see some talent in the next decade. F1 started a women's series last year where you can get points towards your super-licence if you win.... which then in turn allows you to race in the formula series. The coverage was done properly, in line with the men's series. People like Suzi Wolfe have been pushing for a women's class to open t…

Woah. Lady biker and motorbike fanatic here. Sorry but I'll have to disagree on that one. Also I'd like to point out that motorbike racing is one of the few places that women compete in the same race as men. The Spaniards are leading the way but check out Ana Carrasco and Maria Herrera. When Ana was on the grid, she had a top less male brolly boy: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/bdm0kk/motorcycle_riders_usually_have_umbrella_girls_on/ Ana went on to win a world cham…

Due to the one child policy in China and the tradition of favouring boys over girls (with girl babies being killed or trafficked), there are now millions more men than women, with many women chosing not to marry and rejecting societal traditions. It is estimated that only 1 in 4 Chinese men will ever get married in 2030. There is a crisis in China of men who will literally never have sex with a woman because there are not enough of them. How they didn't see this coming is beyond me.

That person was me. My son's dad was a LVM. Fortunately I was able to survive without his pathetic financial contribution and when I left him, life became easier because I was only looking after one child, not two. I wish this sub had been around 20-25 years ago when I hadn't wasted my life on idiots. I really suffered from a lack of good female role models.

Crows can hold grudges for generations - if you piss off a crow, they will tell their mates and then their children. Their children (chicks?) won't know why they hate you but they will, and so will the whole flock. They remember human faces very well - do not piss off a crow or a raven, they are very intellegent. https://www.discovermagazine.com/planet-earth/grudge-holding-crows-pass-on-their-anger-to-family-and-friends

Historically jewellery was important for a woman to own as it was virtually the only possession a woman was allowed to keep - she couldn't own property or have her own money. Even her children weren't hers and could be taken away if the husband decided. Jewels were the only piece of financial security she had.
